Another fantastic video Mike! Thank you for taking the time to make these review videos. They are great. Not everyone has boatloads of money to spend on professional equipment, so it's nice to see more budget friendly options.
Great video Mike would have love to seen some free hand cuts with it but i get you were trying to go apples to apples and how thick can it cut? Thank you so much for all you do!
Mike I am starting down the same path that you took with regards to getting a plasma table. I think I am also going exactly the same path in that I am leaning heavily towards the Crossfire vs the Pro due to space and the ability to move it around. I primarily build muscle cars but also an odd project from time to time. I wanted to know if you still recommend this plasma cutter or not?
Great video Mike. Was wanting one and then I see this video so, you talked me into it. Just arrived and tested it out. Amazing. Eventually it will be paired up with the Crossfire table. Getting close to start fabbing up some fun machines like you.
Mike, could you also do a review or short suggested air compressor size recommended for running the plasma torches and setups in your opinion. Thank you! Two Thumbz 👍👍
Hey Mike, Great video as usual and thanks for demo'ing the Bauer surfacing tool. Not available on line yet, so I'm going to HF Sat and buy me one. I have a few Bauer corded tools and really love 'em. Also love my Hynade flux core welder and my Bestarc cut55 plasma. I'm going to have to quit watching your channel, because you're causing me to spend too much $$ on tools/welders, LOL. Cheers.
I followed your lead and bought the Cut60DN plasma cutter from Hynade a few days ago. I have been trying to wire up my Langmuir table with the THC module, but I am having some issues with trying to get everything connected up properly. There are a Torch On/Off connection and a THC connection that are both mounted on the Langmuir control box, that I assume need wires connected to both for them to work properly. I also bought a Torch Height Control Module and there are a lot of connections to be made to it There are the DIV INPUT, the DIV OUTPUT, the PV OUTPUT , and those are the ones located on the ends. Then there are two more connections, one marked TORCH (black) and one marked CLAMP. (red) on the flat sides. I probably forgot to mention that I am very electrical wiring challenged when it comes to making up proper connections. CN YOU HELP ME PLEASE?!
Hi Mike, I've watched all of your reviews on plasma cutters as I've been in the market myself. I'm planning on a handheld machine, but I have some dexterity issues. I run a manual only shop and I'm not interested in bringing a computer in. I do have interest in a plasma table, just not CNC. Back in the days of torch cutting, there were pattern tables that allowed you to mimic most basic shapes. More useful to my needs, there used to be a popular accessory that was nothing more than a guide rail about 18 inches long that assured a straight cut. I was kind of planning on manufacturing a water table and some simple rail system like this. I will almost definitely be building it in such a way that the plasma cutter can be quickly removed to be used manually. I believe at least 60% of the time I will just want fast casual cuts like this. I was fairly set on the best Arc until this video. It can be rather difficult to compare these side by side. I don't have any firsthand experience running a plasma cutter though I'm very familiar with a machine shop otherwise. For my particular use case, do you think having these CNC ready features would still be beneficial? Are there any downsides to normal manual use? Thank you in advance for any guidance you have to offer
Hi Mike, based on your recommendation i just purchased the Hynade CUT 60DN - using your link. All this is new to me and I could follow along with your wiring instruction until it came to the 4 pin connector. How did you wire that connector? I only got the connector tip. Thanks much!
my pressure in the compressor is 80psi.. but in my plasma goes 60 at much.... what i have to do... its a hydane cut60 (my consumables doesnt work to much time )
Curious about the wiring into the thc box. It looks like you aren’t using the CNC (4 pin) connection into the THC module even though it is wired up. Is that correct?
@Mikefestiva have you heard anything from Hynade that they might be closing? I currently have there plasma and my cnc and like it and thinking about upgrading to there welder but don't want to if they are. There website is no longer available thanks
I bought the last one you recommended from Amazon. I never even got to use it and a friend of mine had to have it.. so he bought it off me. Then I found out they no longer carry it so I was in the market for another. Thank you.
Mike, I plan to make a magnetic hold down for my shop. I'll probably use the coils from the clutch from car ac compressors. They're 12v and made to run long duty cycles.
Great video Mike. Which plasma cutter would you recommend, the Arcfony CUT53N or the Hynade CUT60DN for plasma table cutting up to 1" thick steel plate?
Well I really liked the Arcfony for 3/8” and thinner metal, it works really well and never misses a start on any cuts. If you are looking to cut 1” I wouldn’t recommend either plasma cutter. You probably want to get at least an 80 AMP plasma cutter. You are looking to cut way heavier steel then most people do so you are looking at probably spending some extra cash for a bigger machine capable of 1” Capacity and greater duty cycle.
Hi Mike: I think I saw a video that you made, over on Amazon, for the ARCFONY Cut53N plasma, cutter, and the ARCDROID. At least somebody did a really good impersonation of your voice if it was not you! I’m about ready to pull the trigger on that Cut53N, as it looks really good with the exact features I want such as a front panel pressure gauge. In truth, I am probably going to have bought it by the time you put out a video on it. But just in case you are about ready to pull your own trigger on releasing that video, know that there is someone here that would dearly love to have a confirmation that this is a good purchase. I’m also very interested to hear your assessment of the arcdroid. Really, I was only looking for a simple plasma cutter with blow back pilot arc, and a Front panel pressure gauge, and of course, for a lowest price. It’s amazing how difficult that combination seems to be. Plenty of high frequency, low-cost options, but getting what I wanted appears to have been difficult. I was not overtly looking for the CNC, but if I can get exactly what I want in the other areas, and only have to pay a few more dollars for the CNC, then I think that raises this product to a bye. Thanks for all you do!
Hey that’s probably a video from me, I sent one to the guys at Arcfony showing them that the plasma works great on the Arcdroid. They sent it out to me about 5 months ago to see if I liked it, they have been showing me photos and talking about features with me for the past year as they developed it. It’s been a great plasma so far especially for the bargain price. I have a video coming out next Friday showing how I made a down draft cutting table for my Arcdroid, the Arcfony Cut53N is used in that video as well. I think you will like the video. I plan to cover a few more videos using the Arcfony with the Arcdroid this summer on projects. Take care 😊👍 Ps I’m talking with them about a 05MIKEWELD promo code that would save people 5%. Hopefully I can get that worked out when the video post on Friday 👍
Mike - I really appreciate the thought process you inject into the videos and how you do something, design something and go through the process. This was an awesome look into how to setup plasma on a water table. Looking forward to when I have a setup!
Thanks for checking out my new video Roger! Yes I like to add extra info to help others. I actually always want to add more but some folks gripe about me talking too much 😂 it’s a balance I guess 👍 Take care and have a great weekend!
It’s still cutting good, I actually have been running a different plasma on my Arcdroid CNC table and I would recommend checking out this video and see what you think. Arcdroid, Down draft table, Arcfony CNC plasma cutter ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fjpM_XJuNo4.html
Got my Cut60DN in yesterday. Used it just a bit today. Keeps loosing the flame. I did have it under 20 amps on a 110 circuit. Need to get a 220 in the shop.and the metal was rusty. Do you know what is the min. air requirements to be stable on a CNC?
Subscribed. What program do you use to design your parts? What file type for the machine to follow? Thanks - definately need to get a CNC table figured out. I figure if I can slug my way through free cad and tinker cad I should be able to figure this out.
I have been very pleased with my hynade cut60 DN plasma cutter purchase. It has worked perfectly with my Arcdroid until this evening, when it suddenly stopped working. Whether using the Arcdroid, or switching to the hand torch, it will not maintain an arc. New consumables new shroud doesn’t make a difference. Can you point me to someone that can help me troubleshoot it?
I would connect Hynade and ask them about the warranty and if they can help diagnose the issue. I do know these plasma cutters have an air pressure switch, they need about 90 PSI ran to the unit. I’m sure you are providing that but I figured I would suggest looking at that.
Just wanted to say "thanks" for posting this. I had JUST purchased a similar machine on Amazon but then cancelled that order and purchased this one (and with your discount code it wasn't that much more :) Really appreciate it. Quick question: Which water filter/trap did you end up putting on the unit?
Are the consumables used by the Hynade CUT60DN proprietary? Will consumables from Hypertherm, Miller, Lincoln or other established brands work? I am considering a purchase of the Hynade CUT80DN but concerned of availability of consumables in the future. I purchase the crossfire pro CNC plasma table based on your recommendations and review of the product and had no regrets . I would be comfortable to buy the Hynade plasma cutter based on your review only unsure about the availability of consumables in the future. Thank you for sharing your project builds with us.
Nice ! Thank U! For the shared Research! This is VERY Empowering! I am a 35 year Veteran . Custom Mobile Welding Professional. Time to settle down and work from Home 😎
Got a little 110/220 flux core machine from these guys for my work trailer. It does have some odd way to setbit, but it is incredibly impressive what it will weld on 110v. Its been reliable thus far and has worked every time i pull it out. Hopefully it works long term but it has already paid for itself. Now i need a plasma. I have nice welders in the shop, but a plasma is so "simple" i have a hard tkme spending big bucks on one. Shouldn't be all that expensive imho
Hey Mike! I just bought this Hynade Cut60-DN for my Crossfire Pro CNC Table but can't find the csfm rating to know what compressor size I will need. Hobby use, only a few hours per week but anticipate some longer/larger cuts at some point. I don't want to undersize but don't want to break the bank either.
Hi Mike, there are some plasma cutters (plasmargon, susemse) advertised with non HF but use no blowback torch, is this OK ? Is blowback torch a must companion for non hf plasma cutter ... I ask because I have a lot of consumable for non blowback torch ...
Mike, this out of sequence but a thought you may see & use on the center-articulation tractor you build removable front fenders for. Since you can remove then in the field, find a spot and weld two squares these can be stored in. Like the side the the dump bed! It is better that tossing them into the back to get scratches or bent. Just a thought. I worked on our family farm equipment since I was the oldest but this was before you were born. But leaving home at 14 (Family issues) but never went to tech school or high school did have a shop. But I spent my entire life working on vehicles & the last 7 teaching & holding tech seminars in 7 Midwest states before Dr. pulled the plug on working. Had a boss argue for 20 minutes to run a rented jumping jack earth compactor at 28 and destroyed my back. It got better to work at dealer, but old age has this “arthritis” thing and had 11 procedures, finally implant with spinal electrodes and they placed them wrong. So can’t even walk, just enough to mail box. Enjoyed the build surround by tools and use them ten minutes out of every 2-3 hrs. I had no cell since 2008 and RU-vid has been fun. I have to learn aftermarket parts to build a 67 C10 to have a vehicle. At 6’ 3”, I don’t fit well in most even average weight but getting in & out is real hard. The truck fits and given free. A EFI Tahoe engine will make reliable and the OD auto I built on bench 2019 will help with fuel and made to handle 600HP with a basic stock 390 HO engine so I don’t have do repairs. All GM parts that are common & priced well. But, I have to get room in my garage as it is a 1 1/2 car to begin! Enjoy the vids, but having a place to hang your fenders when off is an idea.
Have u had any experience with gasless mig draper welder my local DIY store is selling them from £100-£500 I'd be using it for scale model Rc 1mm to 3mm be the biggest guage mild steel I'd be using
Mike, If you had to get just one plasma cutter, would you get the HYNADE or BestArc? I would like to get plasma cutter, and not yet have the funds for the CNC table... but would like to get one at some point. Also after one year of use on the BestArc, what are your thoughts. Thanks!
Hey sir! Thank you for making this video. I was on the fence about what to buy. I had ordered the CUT80, but it never arrived. Amazon said it was lost in shipping but looking at the tracking info, it never shipped. Any way, I ordered the CUT60 instead, as they had that one in a local warehouse. I was still considering the primeweld. I have there TIG 255 and love it. But after watching your video I am going to give the Hynade a try. Do you have any setting information for the CUT60 to set up the THC and the post for the CNC setup. The manual that comes with it did not provide any Torch working height, piercing, arc voltage, or piercing delay recommendations, nor any kerf width setting. I know these will have to be tweaked for my machine, but it would be nice to have a starting point.
so, i noticed at 16min you cut what you said was 16guage metal the n bent it on your brake. i did not notice any relief cuts, but the brake is only rated for 22guage... Have you noticed any effects other than it being tougher to bend....? I recently purchased a 48in rated for 16 gauge, and that was a concern of mine (others only being rated for 22guage) Alson based on your suggestion I picked up a cut80 for my 4'X4' table thanks for sharing your vid and info
Would this work with their height control? Also will you be doing any more videos on fusion 360? I have been slowly watching all your videos, you have inspired me to get a crossfire 2x2 table. Im ordering it this week.
What air compressor are you using? I'm in the market for this product and a air compressor, for the crossfire XR from Langmuir. Just having issues figuring out what is needed. Thanks!
Alright mike yeswelder vs primeweld. Cannot find a head to head comparison between the two. I’m leaning towards a yeswelder but for the money primeweld looks pretty dang good to. Considering for 500 bucks the one setup comes with a spool gun. Would be great to hear your thoughts
Very nice. You should sell of if these “kits” you make. Without the room currently for a -kasha table, I would buy one. It’s too much hassle to make otherwise.
I’m looking to purchase this off your discount code so you can get your commission do you have a plasma table cnc equipment you are sponsored that works with this cutter? I need to start cutting things on on a table.
Hello Mike, this is the first video of yours I have watched. It was quite informative and I enjoyed it. I was wondering what THC controller that you are running? Also, is there a Video that describes the grounding setup you used.
Mike any idea how many CFM of air this machine (60 amp) and the 80 amp machine require? Didn't see it in the specs. Nice demo, great low cost machine. Dan
Hay Mikes watch most of your videos! In one of them you used a template that had different size round holes and slots that were also different shapes . Did you make that or buy it ? Nice addition for hand cutting I would like to have one if you can tell me where to get one . Maybe put it on Langmuir share page
Another great product review video Mike. I am so glad that you do these since I, and a couple of my friends, are very interested in these same tools. You also do a great job on your project videos. You have great ingenuity and an ability to think outside of the box. Keep up the great work! Also, it is cool that you are a fellow western Washingtonian (I live on Camano Island). Two thumbs up!
Have you tried that surfacing tool on any carbon diamond plate? I need to clean the rust off of a couple 4' x 8' sheets and if that thing will work on them, I need to go get it. Wasn't sure if it would get in between the raised diamonds or not.
Hi Mike, wonder if you would you recommend this plasma cutter over any other or was this recommendation solely based on price and its ability to be used with the table? Thanks for making this video btw... really hyped on buying the table soon too :)
Hey Alex I feel that the fact it’s a 60 amp blow back pilot arc start with CNC plugs on the back make it a great plasma to get for free hand cutting. Once you get some extra cash saved for a crossfire table it’s ready to connect right up to it. The price point is definitely another good thing. Honestly my recommendation would be this plasma or the Titanium 45 just because I have ran both of those on my CNC and they both cut really well. Take care 🙂👍
@@MikefestivaThanks Mike for the quick response! Really appreciate that. Any reason why you didn't get the plasma cutter that langmuire sells rather than experimenting with the Titanium and hynade?
Excellent! I'm building a new CNC, and would like to add a plasma cutter so I'm watching and learning. It's good to get a recommendation to know what the price of entry is, and what to look for for this type of application. It looks like there is a straight torch cutting head available too.
Mike - Thanks for the new review. Also, thanks for the neat tip for the bend location marker. That’s really clever and what I live about your followers. We all get better. 👍👍😎👍👍
Thanks for the reviews you do. I was wondering if you could do one for a shop starter. 1500$ ish budget to get plasma/mig/tig ideally with ac for aluminum. I know this has always been a trouble for me and I am sure others. Having a guide to that point would be of great help to getting a good shop started even if it is piece by piece.
