You can download it from the Lightburn website and you can then get a 30day free trial. If asked what version you require, I went for the Gcode one. After the trial, it is then a one off purchase of the licence which is currently £57. If you want something that is free, you can always get LaserGRBL. To get to both websites, just pop the names into Google and it should be the first options.
Hi John, That looks like a nice entry level small laser. As you may know I have the LP2 which I love and this is quite a good comparable machine, at much lower cost. Just one point which sent my brain into a wobble, the opposite sides of a die need to add up to 7 mate. Sorry, LOL. Take care John Cheers, Huw
Lol, you picked up on that 🤣 It was late and I didn't bother to check how I was assembling it in terms of the numbers... don't think the kids are going to worry too much about that 🤣 Good thing I didn't make it for serious D&D players. I was quite impressed with this machine. It is small, but means I can keep it indoors. Got a small bowl I will see about adding my logo too soon.
Just got this one a week ago. In the beginning, it did quite well. but now, after I did engraving on a stainless steel, it suddenly lose its power, I feel like now it dropped off 80% its power. I really don’t understand why!
Sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with it. I would suggest contacting their customer service if there is an issue with your device as they will be able to advise much more than I could. When engraving the stainless steel, did you put a medium across the steel. As far as my understanding is, engraving should not be done onto plain metal as it will reflect the light too much. Not sure if that could affect the lens as well. When engraving onto medals (not sure what metal it is, possibly brass) recently, I used a black marker to cover the surface. On my other laser I did experience a power drop and when I looked into it, it was because the lens was dirty from dust/carbon. Cleaning it, then increased the efficacy of it again.
@@JiggsysShed thanks a lot for your advice. Yes, I did engraving on a polish stainless steel without a cover layer on the surface. And I also think that it could be affected by the reflection of the light. So I have already replaced a new len, clean the len inside... but it still doesn’t work. Do you think that could affect the inside len which cannot replace? I’m new, and don’t have much experience with laser. And I also want to say to people who consider buying from Sculpfun that their customer services is not very good. I have send them email a few days ago about my laser’s problem, but still now not get the reply. In the beginning, when I placed order from their website, and after 5 days, I haven’t heard anything from them about my order except the order confirmation, so I emailed them ask for tracking number, and then only after that they just send the parcel to me and have the tracking number to send. Very frustrated about their service.
