My family has used the museum gel forever! We have oriental shorthair cats and they LOVE to push things off counters. My step mom uses the gel on all of her decorations and glass. It’s never damaged any surfaces in our house. Wood, glass, walls, counters, anything 🥰

All of the cat owners, or cat-owner-adjacent people, were immediately thinking about their fur beasts and the habitual pawing-off-the-edge, or bowl-flipping. I know that I saw it, and thought "I can finally have flowers in my home again... AND MY HOLIDAY DECORATIONS! And no, nevermind, the little ball of curiosity and rage will still find a way lol"

For the Museum Gel, I have used it for a long time because my cat likes to push things onto the ground. The longer you leave the item in place the more stable the bond. I have very fragile and expensive items secured with this and have no fear of them getting destroyed. And FYI, I haven't had it ruin any surface I have used it on

fun fact: a florist once told me that hydrangeas absorb water through every part of the plant (they're one of the few plants that can drink water through their florets) so if your hydrangeas start to wilt, try putting them petals first inside a bowl of water for 1 to 2 hours and they will look better afterwards

You have to be really careful with the towel in the dishwasher hack. All the fuzzies, strings and bits can mess up your drain system. the towel may also cause your dishwasher to develop seal issues later on, and your dishwasher will leak because it can cause your seal to warp. There’s also a possibility that if your dishwasher doesn’t have a hidden heating element it can cause a fire if at any point the towel ends up fully on the bottom inside while the element is on.

@dawnchesbro4189
@dawnchesbro4189 2 года назад
The only issue I’ve had with museum wax is in a room that tended to get too hot, the wax would soften and the object would fall over! And if you use too much museum gel it can sometimes cause objects to slide until the optimal gel is between it and the shelf. And museum putty is weak to shearing forces. None of them are perfect, but each are great for their specific purpose.

My garbage bag "trick" is to completely open the bag first, then gather the bottom and stick it down at the bottom of the bin, then reopen the bag around the top of the bin. You get a much better fit that way than if you don't open the bag fully first since it doesn't trap all of the air in the bin. I learned this at a summer job I had during university where we changed a lot of garbage cans 😅

Baking soda works really well, you don't need the oils. It is also great on carpets and pet safe. You have to use your attachments on your vacuum. We have easy to clean, new age vacuums in my house and my parents, we have never had an issue cleaning our vacuums. My vacuum's filters are washable. Baking soda / bicarb will react (as in fizz) with an acid, thus you can add a little bit of white spirit vinegar to the bucket of water, (or some to your washing machine detergent) to fizzle out bicarb out of washable things.

I feel like using a hose attachment or one of those tiny handheld vacuums could easily and gently remove the baking soda from your mattress. Also the bread hack is so helpful. For the trash bag one if it has a tie pull the tie a bit to secure it to the trash can or put a command hook upside down on the trash can to hold the loop of the bag tie.

Saaame. My family owns a cleaning business and I grew up sprinkling baking soda on carpet, couches, beds, etc. It's also well known cleaning "hack" pet owners use to prevent their house from smelling like dog/cat. I've had my Dyson for 5 years and use baking soda literally every time I vacuum my house and it still works just as great as day one. Maybe if you don't properly clean your vacuum out after using??

I normally lightly spray the mattress with Lysol first & let it dry & air out before sprinkling baking soda or baby powder. Then I use our ShopVac with the round brush attachment to vacuum. Sending love & hugs from Alabama! 💖

Skip the Dyson... Save the money and buy a Shark, 3 filters, hepa, foam, and fiber, and it will suck the baking soda up without whining.

I do that mattress hack all the time period the difference is that you have to use an attachment for the mattress that goes on your vacuum. It's a handheld attachment. You don't use the vacuum as you would use it on your rugs on your floor. You need to use the mattress attachment that comes with your vacuum and then you vacuum up all the baking soda and it works like a gem

My mom learn me to vacuum clean the bed (with a small thing for fabric) when I was young! And also to put the mattress (and rest of the things for the bed) outside for couple hours, and then it's feel so fresh

Mom hack I learned this summer. For car trips pack a lunchbox with frozen juice boxes, then clip the car seat buckles together and place the justice box on with a small pillow over it. It will keep the car seat bucked cool and kids will have a drink when you return to the car.

My garbage bag hack is storing the roll of garbage bags at the bottom of the garbage can. That way when I empty one bag, it is easy to grab the next. I don’t have to store it somewhere else and go searching for the bags. 😀

I put 4-5 bags onto my bin at one time. Then you just grab the top one and remove when full and the next bag is ready to go. Added bonus is you can grab two bags at once if you have heavy or leaky contents.

My Dyson has a mattress vacuum attachment, so I vacuum my mattress monthly.

Dyson and Shark handle baking soda just fine. Relax. Rinse out filters like you would any other time you clean the vacuum. It's just like deodorizing the carpets.
