My first few thoughts watching this are: 1) I have to make those corndogs 2) I have to go to Korea one day just for the food (even though we have a couple of Korean restaurants in Canberra) 3) I LOVE bulgogi - definitely coming back to this video for that recipe 4) Probably taking myself to KorBQ next week - Korean food is the best!

The Korean corn dog place in my area does a rice cake corn dog. Instead of the sausage and cheese, it’s just a large rice cake fried in the batter. It’s so delicious, super chewy and also crunchy!!

You should try the churros topokki!!! I made them this weekend and it’s one of the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Basically you boil your topokkis, roast in a pan with butter and cover in cinnamon sugar. It’s phenomenal

For the dduk, I tend to fry it in oil a little bit before drenching it in sauce that I make in a bowl and smother the dduk after getting a crunchy exterior. I fry the whole concoction for a couple of seconds to get the smoky sauce flavor. Yummy

I tried the tteokbokki one and it was right on the edge of my spice tolerance. I think it may be because I added 2 spoons of gochujang and too much gochugaru / spices. If you want it spicier then maybe try doing what I did?

As a korean subscriber i would tell you you did it really good!!! Let me tell you one thing try putti 떡and the sausage together!!! It is really good and one tip for you!! When i cook 떡 i dont usually pu it is a stick because it is easier to cook them. So cook them separately and dip them in to sause!! It is easier to eat too!!

I love cooking but most of the days I'm there just to eat. Because of all the cleaning and such. For Easter I baked a salty cake typical of Liguria, Italy but it took me half a day to make. Both the shortcrust and the filling. It's a salty shortcrust pastry, with a layer of spinach that's been fried in onion and olive oil for a bit. Then you add one egg and cheese. Then there's a layer of cream that's made with eggs, ricotta cheese and again Parmesan cheese, then a layer of only eggs (which is it's characteristic layer) and pastry on top. I believe the wives tale associated with it is that you're supposed to put one egg in the middle and when you cut the cake who gets the egg is considered lucky. It was okay but the cleaning part ended with me throwing away the baking pan because it rusted.

I think with the tteokpokki(?), it's easier to fry and coat them with sauce first and put them on skewer at the very end. Might make them crispier.
