For you guys who prefer a fixed aider.The ‪@theamsteelguy4114‬ makes a pretty solid aider. It comes in a single step, double step and even triple step option with customizable step to step distances.

Very very solid explanation. This is perhaps your best video. Thank you!

I went with the four Skeletor sticks. Double 14" aider on first stick and 16" single aiders on remaining three sticks. I get 20 feet on average. I kept aider lengths conservative so when using bulkier clothing and boots in cold weather in the dark it makes my ascent and descent safer. The weight is zero concern as we are still talking a pound or so. Not even noticeable.

Made a set of these with 1/8" Amsteel for my 4 Beast Sticks, they work great, you will find the tubing helpful, with the light weight of the Amsteel, the tubing helps keep them in place as well as can be expected.

Good view. My go to is the Shikar mini 10"- Sam's Amsteel triple set; light version. Over 16 feet with 3 mini's.

Thanks for the info. Have you tried install on the tethrd skeletor sticks?

I have not but they would work the same. You could actually girth hitch the one side thru the holes and then take the other step of and girth hitch the other side. It would work great.

What's easiest, the B.W. M.G. or the amsteel guys. Looks like that gc1 would be alot more sturdy and safer but I like the idea of not having to fiddle with moving the am steel. They just Live on the stick. Put them on and forget it. Also, I'm wanting to get at least 18' but the option to get 22'. I'm only 5'7 and can't stretch out to good with bulky clothes on on the late season. Do you suggest a 3 step aider with 14" S.T.S?

If you went with the backwoods, mobile gear, GC won the step to step distance is set at 15 inches. I like that aider, it works well. If you wanted to go with the Amsteel option, the only thing I would suggest is, make sure that you have a Method at the bottom of your stick to hold/ contain the aider. It can get to be a pain.

@@platinumpursuitoutdoors awesome! I think 15" will get it. I'm completely done with wild edge steps! Way too much monkey-ing around. Plus I had one kick out on me other day, scared me! I believe I'll leave them in a set like screw-ins. They make perfect pre sets

Man hate that! I hung myself upside down using an knaider swaider on them. To me there’s just too much going on and they are 1lbs each. I prefer the sticks.

Can these aiders be used with wild edge steps? Seems like a three step per W.E. step placed head high would get you to almost 15 feet?

I think they actually make some specifically for the Wild Edge steps.

I am wanting to make some aides for my one sticks but need help on making the loop like the Amsteel guy makes. I want my steps with 22 inch steps and he only makes steps to 20inch and I don't want rubber on them either. Any chance you know how to make the loop for the one stick aider? Also do you have any information on how to make a doublestep aider for my bottom stick?

That I do not, but Sam is a pretty cool guy. Reach out to him and see if he would mind sharing with you exactly how to do that. Just tell him you want to do a DIY version.

I'm a total newbie to saddle hunting. Just got my OneSticks. Should I begin with a single step aider? Or go straight to a double step?

What is your desired hunting height?
@arrowforceone9339
@arrowforceone9339 2 года назад
Im thinking 15' - 20'
@platinumpursuitoutdoors
@platinumpursuitoutdoors 2 года назад
You could probably get away with two double step aiders and then a single step. But personally I would probably just get three double step aiders and call it quits.
@platinumpursuitoutdoors
@platinumpursuitoutdoors 2 года назад
And that’s just so that you make sure you can achieve your maximum height of 20 feet. But you could reach 15 foot with two aiders on your first two sticks and not even use an aider on your third sticks.

My 3 step aider from amsteel guy should get here any day :) Being a gram weanie I’m thinking the tubing on the bottom step may not be needed.

Us Amsteel guys are gonna refuse to take you seriously until you learn the lingo - 😁. Those aren't continual loops - that's something entirely different. Those are called locked Brummels, which, granted, is a bit much to remember... But maybe just don't call them continual loops.
@platinumpursuitoutdoors
@platinumpursuitoutdoors Год назад
Lol! That’s funny. Thanks for stopping in. I have a demo video from about 3 years ago talking about locked brummels in my daisy chain tutorial. I guess the semantics is, if it’s a loop it’s a continual circle supported by locking Brummel.
