Teutonic Knights yes, but many of their troops were just Auxiliar or local troops, some even travellers from the HRE. Its a religious order in the end and most of the good, strong men were Knights in a specific position in the order. So they had to have some support troops for their main body of their army.

@The Only True Witch-King You can be a Knight and be on foot. Knights not always use horses, if the situation in battle is bad for horses. Besides that, yes thats true but you have to think about game balance. If you have troops that strong, they either cost a bunch, so noone really uses them or they are too op. I mean I feel the same like you, but since battles in TW don't include all the learning, drilling and experience you need to be in such a unit, its hard to compare it. If we say campaign, its easy with higher turns to recruit 1 unit, but simple for battles, its hard, because you don't have anything to balance troops besides cost and troop size. Every other stat influences the combat ability (which we don't want to be worse).

One thing i notice and it may or may not be true is that the artillery projectiles in 1212AD work different. The projectile would be detonated just above the traget area and causing damage area underneath. If it doesn't get detonated in the air by any mean or on purpose, the projectile would simply impact on the target area and shortly after impact it'll get detonated to cause damage. Which is why you seeing some sorta ball projectile impacting units which are not from catapault You seeing the explosion without actually spotting the projectile incoming is simply becasue the explosion isnt from the later round but from previously fired projectile. Kinda make sense but weird.

When the Teutonic order came Denmark had already been Christian for 200-300 years. And Poland asked the Germans to gather soldiers and fight the Lithuanian pagans. It makes no sense for the Teutonic Knights to fight the danish or the poles.

Apollo, you could try a battle with each player using a specific type of unit, like only cavalry, infantry, or archers, it would be fun.

It would have made more sense if Denmark fought for the Teutonic order since it would be common to find Danish mercenaries in the Teutonic order and Denmark and the Teutonic order had good relations had good relations so it would have made a lot more sense if Denmark was on the teuton side

Props Apollio for your biggest complaint against additional archers "difficult battle ahead of me"!!! 2 things : 1. Too many people make games bad by complaining/throwing because someone breaking/forgetting rules 2. A few videos ago you forgot that rule and brought in extra archers (granted general archers and elephant archers are pretty overlookable! XD) Real life battles dont follow rules like TW and as a general one needs to be flexible and able to adjust to opponent compositions. Great example for all players and deserves more props and encouragement! (Note: Not encouraging cheating by ignoring battle rules prior to multiplayer battles, it is basically the poorest of forms - just the good reaction for when it does.)
