mikimike He was NOT cruising a man's room in Van Nuys.(Michael had been closeted for years and was busted in a San Fernando Public Park Restroom) He was arrested for trying to buy marijuana and solicit oral sex from an undercover police officer in his CAR in an Elementary School parking lot in Van Nuys. I don't know where you read that, because its totally errroneous. Campbell cleared it up in 2002 in a magazine interview with Sister 2 Sister declaring himself " Trysexual" which of course is Bisexual". He's Bi..
+Kuri Chan He wasn't underrated when he started He won Best R&B Soul Train Award and nominated for many more. As much as I was fan of him... His last two albums were disappointing. Also his musicality never matured with the times. Then add his addiction to drugs and his sexuality (at that time the r&b world wasn't ready) he wasn't going to get another label to invest him. And to add he was an executive producer on both of the albums that were disappointments, that sure didn't help his case either.

Best Of Brand:Ro wrestling lmao literally same. I’ve been singing this for a couple years (I’ll be 17 in week😂) people always wanna get on our generation like they’re not the ones that are supposed to show us the way. Like what did you expect? We were supposed to instinctively know 90s music? I was literally born in 2000. It took me being interested in music to find the means to go back and listen. And my parents listened to throwbacks around the house but otherwise kids wouldn’t know how it was before they were born. The world changes and we are just a product of our environment.
DancehallKing99, yup! On The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I remember being so excited for that episode because THE Tevin Campbell was going to be on the show. I remember being so envious of Ashley. Lol! Ahh, the '90s.
Notice Tevin's singing is smooth and he’s not over singing, he gave the song just what it needed. His range is such that he didn’t strain his head voice. Singers in doing the “Tank Can we Talk” challenge should take note. I’ve listened to many and they are trying too hard. No need to try if you got it. JS🤷🏽♀️
Absolutely! There was a LOT of straining and the one guy Avery? was doing too much with the runs. I hate when someone over does it and doesn't know how to balance that technique like Mariah or Whitney or Luther.
Mam, very well said. This song takes me back to 1993. I was a young 14 year old who thought he had love and life all figured out. I couldn't have been more wrong. I love Tevin. His beautiful voice can never be replicated. ❤
David Richardson They came out at the same time remember they were both on that song black men United written by De Angelo it was for the Jason lyric sound track
Chile you ain’t lying. I can still sing the original key? But I have to really push and have the right placement now. It was easy when I was a teen. Now I’m almost 30 like DAMN HOW DO I MANAGE SINGING THIS SONG NOW 😂😂😂😂
i was also there sitting next to tevin campbells mom and dj red alert two rows behind me...wow i never met another person or at least known of anyone else being there at the same show as me from back then....thanks for posting your comment ,,,,
Back when music was all about the gift and the skill...and not the theatrics. This type of singing totally pulls you in cause it's so good! So glad I grew up in the this era.
WOW... Did you hear those background singers at the end? Tevin's smile? I mean, PURE joy and talent! Can't get a mofo to sing like this for NOTHING now! Awesome!
@Mattie Anti Exactly! A male Whitney Houston would be him plus Luther Vandross and even throw Michael Bolton in there for the sheer power! Whitney was truly extraordinary!
Ain't nobody gonna ever come close to this here boy's singing ability... That Avery guy is great yes he is... But this here boy will always be untouchable.
@@daviddang82 take ur time finding any r&b artist and I guarantee u will find someone with a voice similar to his it’s not hard u just don’t care enough to actually try
rustleup 1000%...Yet, he became world famous. And you remained a no-one in the poor trashy area "outside of Dallas." I'd take a like of fruit over a life of nothingness. Hope things get better for you.
That made no sense being able saang at that age! I was 21 and still in college at the time. Blessed to still be alive and see that we're both truly grown now. Praise God.
I'm so glad he didn't sell his soul. He realizes that his worth is much more than what fame can provide. He did not comprimise. Talented and stands by his morals. Mad respect.
@@sewblue187 the original (foundation) will always be the best ❣️... Come to think of it...the only song I've heard thus far...that sound better than the original was the song 'I Will Always Love You' by Dolly Parton when Whitney Houston remade it.
One of the greatest vocalists of all time...Imagine being that young and you can and you can hits notes like that...I reAlly wonder who exactly and what ruined his career
Allegedly Quincy Jones turning him out is what ruined him. Hollywood and music business is notoriously full of power-junkies, serial deviants, etc. Apparently Tevin's mom allowed it all to happen as she was willing to do anything for the $$$. Such a shame. Tevin's voice is one of a kind!
I love his albums. All 4 of them, but man the production team of the first 2 albums knew exactly how to showcase his talent and capabilities. When that 3rd album came, it's like "What happened?". It was great too but it wasn't a home run like the first two. I love "I'm ready" my god that's an amazing album. This guy was made to sing like this. Take yo time, Tev! You're tha man hommes!
Tevin Campbelll singing voice is sooo beautifully heartfelt along with the choice of words he's singing are sooo on point for millions of people to make the 🎵 musical joint Can We Talk a top hot hit back in the dayz the song were being played as more so new.😘 ↗And are still a goodies to enjoy to listen to from time to time.
Can we go back to the 90s please? I won't miss my cell phone... I can read a map to get places... I don't mind those big boxy tvs... Just make life simpler and make music better...
Man I miss those days.......good music like (Tevin, Usher, Jodeci, Brian McKnight, Hi 5, Ginuwine, Blackstreet, Babyface, H-Town, Johhny Gill, Keith Sweat, Bel Biv Devoe and the list goes on and on and on.......all back in the late 80's to the early 2000's) has all but disappeared.
