He won't take them. Coach prime has very strict standards and academic requirements and conduct rules for his players. If they can't do any of that forget it.
For the reasons you mentioned, I think a solid program with the right structure and leadership (like JSU) could help these dudes get it together. I wish they young guys well and hope they can evolve from this situation.

I'm all for athletes being paid but I'm also all for athletes being held accountable for their actions. We live in a country where elite athletes become monsters because they're never really held responsible for the bad behavior.
Were they not held responsible here? As much as I puke at the coaching job by Fisher, he did suspend them indefinitely, and it wasn’t just a slap on the wrist. None of us know what he and others at A&M are trying to do to help these young men off the field but I guarantee you they are trying to help them get it together…. While at the same time holding them accountable for their actions. They have a ton of money and that goes for a huge support staff supporting these players. I’m pretty sure coach Prime wouldn’t have put up with it either. But they are at A&M now, and all I see is someone hoping to poach misbehaving kids who are talented football players and take advantage of someone else’s misfortune. If we truly care about the kids let’s just hope they get it together no matter where they are at.

The best wide receiver on the league last year can bearly get on the field. Best corner from last year had to work back up from 3rd team. A many super talented players are selling used cars, living on handouts because they didn't have discipline and character. Talent doesn't entitle you to be an idiot. And that all starts with parenting and association.
🙄 You can’t save everybody. Coach Prime has too many other positive options to have to dig in the garbage “behavior” can. That would be more stress and time taken away from coaching trying to fix players disciplinary actions. A part of me feels like these guys think they can do what they want as long as they’re talented players. They need to learn that in life, that’s not the case. 🤷🏽♀️

You are assuming Coach Prime wants those guys. I don't see him wanting problem children. One of them clearly has a problem as he is a habitual offender. The other who may be looking at JSU has shown a disrespect. Coach Prime wants people who want to act right ON AND OFF the field. Coach Prime has the pick of the litter. Why would he choose someone who has already shown a propensity to be a problem when he has the pick of others who know how to act?

Exactly! 🔥 I’m not JSU, but I am HBCU alum, and I’m tired of people seeing us as back ups and not top tier. Why should Prime be expected to raise somebody in 3 years when their parents obviously couldn’t do it in 18. He has too many other positive options.

Based solely off this video, I think the only player worth saving is the O-line and maybe the WR! Although I believe everyone deserves a second chance, the CB would most likely have to go JUCCO for a season to prove his maturity growth. We'd love to have the O line and WR at JSU, for I think they would fall in line with Coach Primes' methods.

Why not give an opportunity to one of those 275 players that showed up for homecoming with no record, over continuing to give chances to knuckleheads who didn’t value the one they had? Some of these players think they have a license to ill just because they can play. 🤷🏽♀️
If they're smoking weed in the Locker Room .. What are they doing off campus or in their dorm room? How many NFL teams are they putting off with this? Do you know any Head Coaches who want to be known as the Weed/Coach? Hanging themselves with a rope of their making. May have to sit out a year or more.. or Juco or worse.
Yeah of you have a baseline of decency witch these kids clearly dont. Obviously entitled kids who think a football makes them above the rule. Considering they are Freshman I'm pretty sure they've been smoking since at least highschool and their parents and coaches just overlooked it.
I don't think Coach Prime would take these guys. He doesn't want problems. He wants players. He is a great coach and teacher, but he wants great students. These guys will end up elsewhere in the SEC or in the Sun Belt.

Dumpster fire! These kids are not getting what they need. I believe that if these kids went to any HBCU, they would get the structure that they truly need. Yes, I do understand that all schools aren't created equal, and each one has its own different and unique challenges. But, if they go to any HBCU (preferably) or any other school for that matter, that school needs to provide a set of high standards (both on and off the field), holds them accountable for their actions, not just coach that does this but their professors and their peers, and most importantly their in environment that they know they're cared about as people and not as a tool to make money. If this is provided, you'll see them do a 180 in their behavior.

TXAM obviously does have high standards; that’s why they suspended them. 🙄 And I thought that was the parents’ job anyway. I’m a professor myself, and it seems that everyone wants to put moral discipline on the school instead of where it needs to be-THE PARENTS!!! It’s not our job to RAISE kids. We have the option of providing a little guidance here and there, but that’s on our on accord. For the most part, my students are cool, but I’ve had a few that are pieces of work: manipulative with no accountability for their deceptive actions. 😒 Mom and Dads have 18 years to teach right from wrong before sending their seeds off into the world. It’s not the university’s job to do that.
I totally agree. Some people weren’t fortunate enough to grow up with guidance. When you are a premier athlete people tend to gloss over the rough parts.
That seems like very wishful thinking. You're expecting a lot more people to take responsibly than the actual athletes themselves. Professors and peers? If they don't give af at the schools with more resources, why do you think they're all the sudden going to change going to an HBCU? The issue is their character. That wasn't caused by their environment at the first school. They came to the school that way. I'm all for HBCU's to rise to prominence, but acting like putting these kids in that environment will suddenly fix who they are as a person at their core just doesn't make sense.
They need a 2nd chance. With Coach Prime at this point, 1/2 a strike and they out :-). Anywhere near problems and you out. One grade level above requirement, you drop a grade level and you out lol Blessings 🙏🏾

Coach Prine brings caring to the table. These coaches don't care about our children. They look out or should I say overlook, a lot of foolishness from non color players and give the harshest discipline to players of color. Each incident could have been handled less harsh knowing it could be a career ending mistake. Young folks do that.

These young men deserve a second chance somewhere else other then JSU. Kevin Sumlin had top QB recruits BAILING .. Leaving. 3 Top recruits in 2 years left A&M.. he was running a disfunctional program that was revolting to top players. His offense was a sputtering mess and his defenses lacked basic fundamentals you'd expect from a High School program. Funny thing in this world.. when you perform you have success.

I disagree with all the Kevin Sumlin talk. Sumlin only had one 10 plus season and was consistently 8-4, 7-5 his last year. The reason A&M went after Fisher is because they thought he could take A&M to the next level. It is the same reason for Georgia firing Mark Richt after a 10+ win season. Georgia felt they needed someone else to get to that next level. The difference is Jimbo didn’t work out and Georgia hiring Kirby Smart worked out pretty well.
@@HBCUSpotlight yea the extension was a terrible idea. AD should go when Fisher goes. I’m an Aggie and it’s just funny at this point. This year will be a case study on how not to use NIL. There have been a lot more character issues than the ones reported. A group of players just cared about the money. The sad thing is their behavior and how they have acted around campus only hurts their stock when they try to transfer out. No right minded coach is going to put up with some of their behavior, and the hardest thing to do is change the perception and reputation you have. Some of these kids aren’t going to find all those welcome arms they think they will in the transfer portal. Just an unfortunate situation all around.

If texas A&M is really paying the players as much as people say that could be the issue...College players use to grind to make millions in the NfL.. If they are already making bank it could be having an impact on the players motivation to play at a high level.. If they are already getting tons of money what’s gonna motivate them to make it to the nfl?
When you can smoke weed in the locker room. You know that PWI has no leadership for players from different environment. How do you talk to a kid you have nothing in common with. I played at a PWI where my coach was a born-again Christian that recruited a player for Crenshaw LA. Because of my success he was able to get kids that wouldn't normally come to my college. He couldn't handle them.

JSU D team is one of the best in the country...check stats #4 last week's numbers. But, big guys to hold the offensive line and defensive line is needed to compete on the level with a Alabama or Florida St
Texas A&M is a disaster at this point. You can't get rid of your coach cuz you're going to have to pay him 80 million dollars. so you got to suck it up and see what happens. it don't look good for A&M (that's reality and that's facts!)
