The VA created this problem. VA Medical providers will not do nexus letters and IMO's. So, veterans have to look for help in the civilian community, and some vets get eaten by sharks.
First : Get ALK your medical records. Second : Take those records to a private non-VA physician. THIRD (and importantly) : Make a "Declaration Of Fact" under United States Code (USC) ,28 U.S.C.1746 and Declare the facts. You'll sign it "Under the penalty of perjury". You must itemize EVERYTHING.( This document must be taken as factual. It then falls on the VA to disprove it. But , you must provide addresses,tele.numbers,and names. That way say you go to a doctor and he agrees it's more likely than not your problems stem from service . Yet , he won't commit to that on paper he then MUST admit his beliefs to the VA rater calling his office. Your declaring it factual makes it necessary for the VA to investigate. Remember , the VA may claim they attempted to get in touch but we're unable to.So, get the time best to call, address and business name .And, Doctor's license if possible.....Try that it works when done correctly...
The Pact Act has changed the need for nexxus requirements for many illnesses. No nexxus letter is required for the presumed diseases listed in the act.
@@gforceforever You must, however, you show your direct involvement in pact act illnesses i.e. you had to be there. So ,an assumption that your current illness is directly due to whatever exposure you had. No nexus needed.
@@Eternal-zj5dgI searched my entire state to find a VSO who knew even just a little bit about the service-connection laws pertaining to injured Guard and Reserve veterans - nothing. So I had to teach myself and read BVA and Court of Veterans Appeals cases for over 2 years and then filed a claim with the VA which I won. And regarding VA Claims Insider, never used their service, but their online information about applying for service-connection was far greater and more detailed than anything I ever got from a VSO or even from VA lawyer sites. Companies like these sprang up because so many veterans are constantly shafted by the VA and their VSO lackeys.
Not all vso anyway. I got lucky with a very good county vso office. Helped that two of the vso's are on the committees that lobby against certain fed and va proposals.
I needed to hear this. I used them- services were piss poor. I did most of the work. Anything they did do, wasn't brain surgery, more like a 15- 20 min conversation!! Now I'm paying ASTRONOMICAL costs & I feel jipped! Looking forward to any way I can be apart of this legal action. I'm in the state of Illinois!

@@justincredubil I’m quite sure he didn’t know the cost of ahead of time. I think you’re missing the point of what he’s saying. They didn’t do anything that justifies them charging that amount. If you’re going to pay, they have to provide you a service. A 15 to 20 minute phone call doesn’t cost $10,000.
I'm a disabled vet and live in the Fort Hood area. VA Claims Insider is well known around here and they are super aggressive. Ive heard more than one horror story.. glad Paxton is suing finally
Thank you for sharing this information. I have always wondered how much those types of companies were bilking veterans for, and why they were being allowed to continue doing it. I am rated at 90% disabled by the VA, and think it should be higher, but I would never pay a company to help me get an increase. Again, thank you.
So you going to let the VA win and not get what you deserve. Shallow your pride as for help. Get the increase pay a small fee of 6months of the increase from 90 to 100. And benefit from all the benefits you get for being 100%. I used them to get from 90 to 100. I think it was like 6 grand I paid but that’s easily covered by the first year I didn’t have to pay property tax. And I get that extra money forever now along with no property tax.

I THOUGHT about using them, but after watching Chisloms videos and other VA certificate law firms, I decided NOT to use VA Claims. It was unclear exactly what I would get UNITL I paid and became a member. Too unclear for me to pay
@@orc001 you pay to become a member. Once you become a member you find out they don’t do anything to assist you like they claim in their videos. The company is a disaster and deserve everything coming to them.
I don't think VA Claims Insider would have gotten as much grief had they not gone hog wild with the compensation they charge veterans for services rendered. They charge something like six times the increase in your monthly disability payments (so if you are filing for the first time, you will be charged six times whatever rating you get from the VA). According to VACI's member contract the maximum fee is capped at $15K, still a huge sum for many struggling veterans. Plus, it's never a good look when the founder of VACI buys himself a huge waterfront mansion to live in.
Sounds reasonable to me. You know the veterans get that benefit the rest of their lives right. Many times they get back pay so it’s really not that much until they have paid off the services and start collecting that money the rest of their lives. Yes I do suggest trying to file yourself first. Get what you can but when you get to that road block they can get you what you deserve. I wasted 3 years fighting. Then they helped me. If I went to them sooner I would have been better off.
@@matts7476 Yes to some cases, but you would know that not everyone's VA disability benefit is ever 100% guaranteed for life (not every veteran gets a P/T disability decision). So for some veterans they could face a reduction in benefits in a year or two or so, or maybe get cut off entirely. This means they spent over a year having to pay VACI back, and by the time they are done their benefits could be reduced or eliminated. Not all veterans are fortunate to have a well paying job or even a roof over their head. Unfair to expect VACI's payment system to be 'reasonable' for them.
I don't get it? A VA certified lawyer gets 20%. A veteran with 75K backpay from an appeal will pay the VA lawyer.....$15,000. Are you that dense? And although I'm a low income disabled vet, what the hell is wrong with someone a waterfront mansion if they bought it with money they earned through providing a service? Now, if VA Claims Insider is actually outright stealing from vets, then yeah, I agree. But most of what I'm hearing is just BS from vets who decided after the fact that they want more of their backpay after agreeing to pay it, so they get sour grapes and want revenge "just because."
I have a chronic disease on the VA Chronic Disease list, Myasthenia Gravis (MG). VACI said they could not help me. Just like 3 VSOs. The first VSO could not even alert me to the VA Pension, from which I ended up getting $ 500 per month. What would help is if the raters talked to the claimant for 5 minutes and allowing Higher Level Reviews after a higher level ap[eal is successful. I received a C&P from a HLR and the rater made the question of "Did I get MG from PCBs". The C&P examiner said no, but put in the rationale that I had it while in the service. The rater denied the claim. I eventually got 100% P&T using that rationale and the rationale of another C&P examiner that said I developed double vision (first symptom of MG 85% of the time) because of MG.
Filing for VA benefits has been a nightmare for me, all they do is deny for reasons that dont take in consideration the whole story. Any mistake the VA makes, the veteran is the one who loses by having to wait months or years. Ive paid money to another company to help me, but later I found that company is one the VA didn't like either. The backlog is insane, and veterans are losing from that issue as well.
"..."the whole story"...The VA requires the whole story. And that proof is provided. Also , the "help" you had chosen should've been researched and accredited. The backlog is due to claims like (apparently) yours. The VA is bound by law to research YOUR facts. And ,within reason, research on there own some medical claims and institutions you used. HOWEVER, this adds some 4-6 months onto the process. Now , multiply that by thousands and there's your backlog. If your denied you must look at the reasons the VBA did so .Then start again addressing those areas they noted. It ain't easy but worth the time...
I am not a certified VA Claims Rep-either inside the VA or on the outside. But, over the past 20 plus years, I have helped many vets. The first thing any vet has to understand, is this: You have to know what you are filing for and it has to be specific-If you do not know/understand what you are filing for-then how does the VA know what you are filing for. To do that and make sense to the VA raters-you have to have basic knowledge of the rating tables in 38 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations). It is also the vet's responsibility to provide proof of the issue/disability, that is was incurred/caused by their military service and is rated at or above zero percent disability. You have to take an active part in the claims process. And you have to provide the documentation to win your claim. When vets start to hand me a pile of papers and say do my claim. I walk away. If they want to sit down with me and go through them-we do. And then I tell them what they need. When vets just put a bunch of words on a paper and send it in and hope that something will stick-it usually ends of rejected. As stated below by another commentator " If you are denied you must look at the reasons the VBA did so .Then start again addressing those areas they noted. It ain't easy but worth the time...". @@johnmartin9823 It's important to know that the US Congress has legislation on the table that would make UNACCREDITED "help" groups and individuals (concerning Veterans) illegal. Especially those that require ANY form of payment. Accreditation makes any help liable for fraud , misuse of the law etc..
I have never charged so much as a penny for my help. Though I sometimes hit them up for a cup of coffee. I guess I can be reported for the cup of coffee. It took me over 10 years to get my rating. I did it by myself because I was a vietnam era vet and was not a real vet according the the AL, DAV, VFW etc at that time(Early 90's).I did it by learning 38 CFR and having the medical records/documentation to prove my case. Even then, I still had to retain an attorney to get out of the VA's hampster cage(Along with two trips to the CVA). My satisfaction is seeing someone get the medical care they need not monitary. What about other companies that charge Vets for getting upgrades? Many vets are Paying to get 100 ratings. They are not putting their names on any of the paperwork, but charging . They tell the Vets not to go to their C&P exams. Simply because they know HOW and what to write. This seems unethical and somewhat illegal.
I hear Vets say that I'm going to get mine. Not all Vets are 100 disabled. This is not something that is entitled. I think it should be illegal for Vets to be able to pay anyone especially someone who works for the VA. Just SMH.
I was staked by VA Claim Insiders. I explained to them that I just talked to a lawyer and was told that the law office would not handle my claim because it was too easy for me win. The only thing VA Claim Insider did was tell me where I could get the form I needed to file my claim. I was given a 10% rating and I got a bill from VA Claim Insider for over $1000. I was so confused. They are getting what they deserve for tricking Veterans.
Yeah I used them, they literally tried to charge me for work I did myself they didn't do anything then asked for $10,000 I refused to pay them. They kept calling me I told them if they didn't stop they would hear from my lawyer and the calls ended and they've never tried go contact me again
Everything you say in this video is true. Hopefully they'll stop ripping off veterans. I also read where the CEO of Veterans Insiders wife is CFO of their nexus generating business.

They made the promise, "to me", that there was no charge for their service until they were successful in my claims for increase, then slipped in a charge for a mental evaluation. I ended any further correspondence and warned others! This was at least 5 years ago.
Oh nonsense. You knew upfront that you would be charged for that. I've always filed my own claims, but when I did look into them a few years ago, they were upfront about what it was going to cost as well as medical exams, etc.
I'm glad you guys are accredited to help veterans but do you only deal with appeals for denied claims? What if a veteran wants to increase their rating and needs help navigating the process?
It’s illegal to charge a fee for an initial claim. They can only charge once you’ve been denied. That’s the problem with the claims they’re charging outrageous fees and it’s not legal for them to charge. That’s why they have their own states attorney general suing them. That’s not the only reason, but it’s one of them.
Yes, VA Claims Insider is a little sketch, but the average VSO is not helpful at all. Prior to turning to a private company for help, I had 3 different VSO's, none of whom were entirely competent. If I had to do it all again, I probably would have lawyered up with a firm like CC&K.
All I know is this so called VSO or accredited agent didn’t help me or my dad I had to do mine on my own. My father passed away before he could get help. For me I tried Va claims insider and the helped me get my depression claim approved and I had no issues with them. If the process wasn’t so messed up, or these contracted c&p examiners that imo, this is who congress should go after
I believe if anyone needs an advocate the safest place to go will be DAV. I was help & plan on going back. I had nothing to loose but gain so much. If it wasn't for DAV i wouldn't have had anyone else to turn to. The local Veterans Affairs was not trust worthy & didn't do nothing for me. I was told by a Vet one day over 10 years ago that if DAV can't help me then nobody can. Thank God Almighty for DAV.
I used their "services" which was just videos and zoom meetings encouraging to keep the case going by so called counselors. I did get assistance in getting a nexus letter from an independent third party and it did help me with my VA case, however, VA claims insider never did anything for me to warrant what they charged me for, which was their maximum of $15,000! I did settle for less, but still it was a huge chunk off my disability benefit. The video presented here details exactly all their deceptive tactics to get veterans trapped into believing their services are free. If this becomes a class action, I'm in!
Did you listen to what she said in the video? Did you read the 17 page indictment against VAClaims Insider? You’re blaming the veteran for not taking accountability for what they choose to use. Please define that. If the veteran looks at the contract and agrees to the astronomical charge in exchange for a service that is entirely up to the veteran. Now once the contract is signed, and the veteran gets no help from VAClaims Insider but achieves a higher rating now VAClaims Insider expect to get paid. What would they get paid for? The veteran did all of the work, and there was no service provided. At least not an acceptable level of service being provided. So what do you mean when you say the veteran needs to take accountability for what they choose to use? Most people that comment. Always default to the price well, you knew how much it cost. The cost is not the issue, as long as you’re OK with it in the beginning. The issue is you’re not receiving the service promised. listen to the video and read the 17 page indictment from the Texas Attorney General. All that information is outlined in there. That’s what the complaint is.
Thank goodness they are finally getting invetigated. All they do is tell you to watch their videos and have you do all the work. They tried to work on a case of mine and didnt even care about my main issue. They wanted me to pay them a huge amount of back pay if i won. MY "COACH" was horrible. She was a work at home type and would call me and you can hear her kids running around in the background. She would talk to me while she was doing something else because she would always forget what she was talking about. She was very unprofessional. I am so pleased to hear this. They do put out some good videos tho.
Chisholm Chisholm and Kilpatrick wouldn’t lift a finger to help me in my VA claims but the VA claims insider did. They won me four out of four claims and they help more veterans than the VA itself. Shame on this lawsuit.

This is in conflict with CAV-C General Docket 16-346 Clearly evidencing this veteran filed his NOA very timely on 01/22/2016. That dismissal was dated Aug. 26, 2022 and has yet to be corrected. Hello! To legally represent veterans in their VA disability benefits case, individuals must be accredited by VA. It is illegal for any accredited organization to charge veterans for help with initial VA claims. The main issue here is the company is not accredited, meaning they have not gone through formal training to legally represent veterans. Have a great day!
I can see why these companies exist. OEF OIF Veteran.After my discharge in 2005, I went straight to the VA for assistance used a VSO at the VA clinic. (Multiple mental conditions and knee issues.). Got denied at the appeal level for lack of evidence. DD215 states combat medal. I’ve been getting treatment using my private insurance ever since.
Makes you wonder what will happen, if found guilty, to the veterans that received an increase in compensation through them. Will the veterans that used the company get a reduction in benefits? That would be a lot of people over the life of the company.
In theory, nothing should happen to the status of any veteran that used their service, as long as the claims themselves were legitimate. Think of it like a buddy running a (uncertified) car repair shop out of his garage at his house. You have a check engine light and your car fails emissions. You take it to him, he looks up the proper parts, and performs the repair per the manufacturer’s instructions. The light goes out, and it passes re-inspection. If your state decided to crack down on uncertified garages, and file suit against him, that does not change the legitimacy of your emissions test results. If he did a fix that manipulated your computer into *thinking* it passed (ala Volkswagen), that’s a different story altogether.
Why would anything happen to the veteran? The veteran won their claim by their own medical evidence. The only thing VAClaims Insider did was take six times the increase in their backpay. That’s it! The Veterans did all of the work, and the Veterans medical evidence won the claim.

Combat Craig, who hates Veterans Claims Insider (only because they compete with his people who do the same thing) admitted on a video that they helped him get rated by preparing his claim and getting him a nexus letter. I checked into them years ago and they were upfront about what they provided and how much it cost. Didn't need them and filed my own claim. But if they're helping vets get service-connected and are upfront about their charges then I have no problem with them at all.
If the VA actually assisted veterans rather than just receive appropriations and hire people who know nothing but to pass to others with phone numbers that don't answer , or is just a recording , or puts a caller on hold for 25+ minutes just to have no information does not help veterans.

@@RandyRhode-yq5hq The DAV VSOs will also get you screwed out of back pay as they will file an intent to file on top of an intent to file that is already in the system for almost a year as in my case. I had filed an intent to file in April 2021. I went to DAV at the end of December 2021 to have them as my rep and then they filed their intent to file Jan 2022. When my claim for sleep apnea was approved the VA only back paid me to Jan 2022 when DAV filed instead of my original date of April 2021. I filed an appeal to the VA and they said basically too bad because the DAV intent cancelled out my April 2021, which made me lose about $5000 dollars in back pay.
@@radfordsmith2773 you are so right. I watched a video a while back made by Brian Reese from VAClaims Insider and he strongly suggested every veteran get a mental health evaluation or psych exam. Whatever they are called. What he failed to mention is the company he’s sending you to his wife is the CEO of. so they profit big time off Veterans and I agree with you when you say many of these claims are fraudulent. They also emphasize taking a 10% tinnitus claim to 100% by claiming migraines even if the veteran never had a headache in his life. I pray, they shut these criminal enterprises down. They don’t help Veterans they help their own wallets.

Veterans serve with honor but the truth is everyone benefits from our misfortunes except US! These rules, procedures etc., are explained after years of waiting and being denied. Sucks
I hired CCK to help me with my claim after AMVETS was shut down. I am 90 percent but the nature of my injuries will not improve and continue to impact my life. While researching other possibilities I found myself watching their online presentations and while I do think I could submit a claim, I need an advocate for my claims.
Google Texas, Attorney General, Ken, Paxton suing VAClaims Insider. This should get you to lot of articles about the lawsuit. The actual petition filed by the attorney general is 17 pages long and is well worth reading. You can probably just Google petition from Texas Attorney General suing VAClaims Insider the county the lawsuit is in is called Bexar countyin Texas.
F any company that takes a veterans disability money. I hope the law shuts down any company engaged in this practice and has to pay back every vet including fines by the government.
I signed up based on their promises and got NOTHING. Once I signed up for over a thousand dollars, the company then said to do anything other than look in their library of items, that I also found on other sites (did they "borrow" those documents?) it would cost much more money to actually get the assistance they said was part of the sign up. As far as I am concerned, I want ALL my money back with penalty damages of 100%! Hey Ken Paxton, what about forcing the company to refund every penny with penalties. I'm sick of lawsuits by government entities that, when they win, THEY KEEP THE MONEY and screw over those actually damaged...AGAIN!

The guy who owns the company Brian Reese is a veteran himself. Shame on him for preying and victimizing other veterans. At first, I thought about using them for my claim, but after reading through their requirement of collecting SIX times of what I was due from the VA from back pay, I said "hell no" and did it on my own. Currently at 90% and have filed for my TDIU for 100%.
But you still, to this day, see their info ALL OVER the internet. On top of that, I still to this day, get emails from them, as I once contacted them for help
Yes let’s go after a company that is helping veterans. This company breaks down the hurtles that Vets need to over come to get their benefits they deserve. They provide countless free information to veterans and if they want one on one mentoring. All they ask for is 6 months of the increase that will last the veteran his or her lifetime. So a small fee.

You know what the VA is the blame for this. Yes suit them for deceiving vets but Hell somebody needs to help us bc VA doesn't give a dam about us. Deny delay and your next doctor appointment is in 8 to 10 months from now or go the ER and they give you antiinflammatories and recommend you follow up with the VA. Meanwhile you are still in pain. @@kevintrotter2025 Then don't use them. I know people who have used them after wasting years trying to do it themselves. VACI got it done for them in six months - or less. I know one guy who tried to use VSOs and lawyers for THIRTY YEARS and failed. He went to VACI and got 100% in THREE MONTHS. Did he pay? Yes. Should he have paid thirty years earlier and got thirty years of benefits? Yes.
@kevintrotter it is about the same for those that go to Veterans Guardian for assistance as well. I had reached out to CCk and hill and ponton and they both said that they were not taking any new cases when I have several issues that have been documented in my military medical records that VA continues to deny me on.
@@meadoman2000 just for your information these VA accredited lawyers can’t assist you on an initial claim. They can only assist you with appeals. Then by law, they are only allowed to charge a fee between 20% and 33.33%. They are legitimate unlike the claim companies like Brian, Reese, and VAClaims Insider.
