A Spring, Texas family was followed home almost 30 miles after they went Black Friday shopping at the Galleria in Houston. #BlackFriday #TheGalleria #Shopping
I think the thieves may be watching who uses valet parking bc they often have more money. They see them get back their car and are probably already behind them ready to follow them.
Prob a paid valet guy who makes small talk with he car owners and puts an AirTag in your car to track you as he sees exactly where you went because he helps you put your bags in your car etc.
My question. How does he know they followed them for 30 miles? If he did know someone was following them he should never have gone to the actual homes but to a police station instead.
What are you talking about? I noticed people behind me and when they seem to be turning everytime that I do , I start to wonder. And sometimes I don't drive to my place until they turn in a different direction. It's called ... Pay attention to your surroundings.
Police are assuming he was followed. But what if an GPS locator or air tag was planted inside/on the victims car? That would enable thieves to follow them at a distance and not be seen.
My very same thought. If you see that a person is following you ,the absolute last thing to do is drive to your home or any location that isn't the police station. He should have called the police immediately before dropping off his loved one.
I bet the valet workers are tipping off the robbers. Can’t be a coincidence that both victims utilized valet. They might’ve checked the insurance card + registration in the glove compartment to provide the robbers with their home address. People PLEASE use situational awareness. Check that rear view mirror and if you feel like someone is following you, drive to the police station. Stay safe ❤
I second that. It makes sense to watch for people who park valet as big spender. all they need to do is sit nearby and then get em if they are loaded down.
I think that there must have been a tracking device placed in the vehicle by the Valet attendant. That is really scary…. Did they use a gun when they stole their packages. This is so out of control.
I wonder if valet is putting those apple tags on their cars.... how else would they know exactly where he turned after not being in eyesight for over 20 seconds? 🤔 Be careful out there please people.
Not really. All you have to do is watch the lot where valet cars are parked. Someone that gets valet parked, it likely to have $$ so there are a prime target.
@@bobroberts2371 I valet and I’m definitely not balling but I don’t wanna walk super far or fight to get a parking space…These ppl are being set up by valet when ppl kum back with hella bags from big name stores they either dropping an AirTag or plate number to follow them… they definitely not looking from the lady with the bags from Ross but Prada or Louie they definitely want them
I've worked as a SA in luxury stores and this tends to happen a lot in Houston Galleria specially during Holiday season. At times there are individuals who follow you from inside the shopping mall to your house. I recommend going very early and during a weekday.
Me, too. I drive a small Honda, and my visual field is pretty good.. I think I'm being followed, I will drive up to Winstar casino, and go to the Lighthorse PD, that's the tribal police. They get their jollies being a bit too rough with thugs... because if you're on tribal land, lol, you have no CONSTITUTIONAL rights until they turn American citizens, (non tribal) over to the Love County sheriff. THEN I go south back 25 miles into Texas where I live.
@@Dobiegal I mean I’m telling you… I recognize most headlights too I’m like what’s that dodge doing following me.. I exit and make a detour then continue on.. it helps my piece of mind.. you just never know, I always expect the worse
Marylander here! My cousin was a Maryland State Police officer! He told me if you are ever being followed drive to get closest Police Dept. ASAP! I have ONLY had to do that one time! A bunch of teenagers were following me so I did pull into the City Police Dept. They quickly turned around and headed off! Great advice from my cousin!
My GPaw was HPD, he says kill them and then ask questions. Also train ALL family members to be killers if the situation necessitates it. Running for help simply puts someone else's head on the guillotine. But you'd be safe.
If noticed a car following me for more than five miles I start to turn different directions and see if they’re still following me. If they are I head straight to the closest police station.
I notice when it seems like when someone is following you. And if I'm getting close to my place I'll drive by. But I've seem to follow people too, because I'm just heading that way. It's always better to be safe than sorry. And always CC . Especially in those ... GUN FREE ZONES ... where the criminals always have the guns.
my daughter has one in her backpack. its registered to my wife's account. everytime i pick her up from school it alerts me that an airtag is travelling with me. so...
Police might want to try using undercover police as "bait victims" Have them flash a little cash, buying a lot of expensive items, and see if they get followed.
Thank God they’re ok. Thieves can put gps trackers on your car then follow you home even hours later. Also, seems fishy with the valets, could have an inside man there...
Our local indian casino had a big scam going from the valets, basically giving peoples house keys and having their crime buddies go to the peoples house while they are staying at the resort, casino
Valets know who is loading a lot of bags into their cars. Then calls their friendly jugging relative. Check all the valets phones about the time these people left the Galleria then you have your evidence.
For years, I learned to keep an eye out for followers. I would pull over and let them pass, or pull in somewhere where the light was bright and watch for them. Once, the guy or guys followed my every move. I knew I was being followed. I NEVER went home! Since I've moved to an over 55 community, I have not noticed anyone following me. It's so quiet over here, it would be easy to notice.
I once followed someone for over 30 miles through not heavily travelled roads, everytime he turned, I had to turn, I thought, man this guy must think I'm following him, I wasn't, we just happened to be going to places close to each other and took the same route even though there were other routes available.
Valet drivers have access to the glovebox where your home address is on your insurance papers. Valet also sees what stores you've been to when he looks at your bags as you put them in the car. You don't have to be followed from the stores. They already have your home address and the valet tells them when you're leaving the mall. All the thief has to do is wait in your neighborhood for you to show up at your house.
He can also make a copy of your key. They just have to have a key maker or while the person is shopping, the valet goes to the local hardware store get copy of key made. and their house key possibly.🤨🤯😳😱
If they bought thousands of dollars in luxury items, there are credit cards that protect against theft. My AMEX blue cash every day for example. If they can send the police report and bought it with a credit card that has that protection that’d be one less headache. I can’t even imagine being followed to the privacy of your home. Goodness.
Bruh...not everyone walkin around carrying AMEX..and AMEX BLUE is the lowest AMEX card anyway...🙄 thats the card I had in college...its the amex starters card...
I don't want to seem unsympathetic, but these kinds of stories have been told numerous times recently. You have to pay attention when you're out and about, especially if you appear as though you have money. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, someone is out there, watching. This is their job, it's how they put money on the table. The majority of these attacks occur at the attackers discretion. They choose the victim, time, place, etc. And it's almost always with an unsuspecting victim. I'm willing to bet the folks in this story had no idea they were being followed, never even knew someone was watching them at the mall. Successful thieves and other, even more dangerous attackers recognize human behaviors. They know who they want, and they know who they DON'T want. If you're going to appear an easy target, you're making it easy for criminals. Crime is on the rise, and it's not mere coincidence. You have to choose how you're going to deal with this.
I have to agree. And they left their bags in the car?? Anytime I'm on a luxury shopping spree, my head's on a swivel and I immediately lock the car door behind me. Tbh, I'm not sure I would ever feel comfortable using valet in the first place. It seems a little risky in itself but then again, I'm super paranoid.
My father got followed after driving from Best Buy when I was a kid.. he did a crazy fast U-turn on a two one way construction zone. Went the opposite direction of that two way and got onto a busier street full of cars and lights. We both saw the follower car drive past us very quickly as we were stopped in the middle of multiple cars at a red light. It was kinda fun at the time for me but now I feel terrified of that, and so smart of my father to do. Happened in Phoenix or surprise Arizona before it was built out like it is today during our holiday shopping. I was fascinated and also scared of how crazy my father drove but I’m positive he saved us from miles of unwanted following or worse from those people. I don’t remember much after that on the drive only that I kept looking behind us kind of anticipating to go fast again and excited. And honestly back then it didn’t look like it was that serious of an issue because my father didn’t make a big deal of it. We just drove to my Uncles house and then celebrated Christmas week with family not bringing it up and traveled back to home. Great year for me too. I got my very first drawing tablet and Neopets was amazing back then! Lol
I think your father told you a B.S. story, to cover up something else... Spending a week at a relatives house before going home sounds just a touch "extreme" for just being followed by a random car.
@@davelowets but he didn’t drive there because of the following car. we were in the area already to celebrate christmas with family. I believe we went to the shopping area and Best Buy for presents and groceries but we were already staying at the family’s house we just drove out for shopping and then that scary following happened right after Best Buy. Apologies if my English and grammar really suck.
I've had people behind me, or I was behind them, for tens or twenties of miles. It's just a coincidence sometimes that both of you work or travel the same paths during the same times occasionally. Nothing to get paranoid about.
@@Cyko.. not from the galleria to the woodlands / spring for 30 miles. Maybe on i10 going city to city. From woodlands to galleria are tons of exits . The chances are very low they live in your exact neighborhood 30’miles and 2-3 cities away.
I live in VA and this one time some woman drove into my neighborhood right into our cul-de-sac straight up onto someone’s front lawn just laying on her horn the whole time. Some guy was following her in his SUV and he broke her windshield trying to get at her poor thing was screaming for her life but dude pulled off when people came outside to help her it happened fast af. I never heard anything else about what happened but I hope that girl was alright, it’s scary out there.
Valet is questionable, Maybe someone in the valet is ransacking the car looking for paperwork with an address.they need to investigate the valet drivers
You have no idea how important it is to stay in touch with everybody on the social media after you've done some fabulous spending at the most exquisite shopping venues!!!! Observe your surroundings for your own safety and protection? How frivolous!!!🧚♂️🧚♀️
Either the thieves are looking out for valet parking clients or valet people are informing on good targets.. although I bet they’re looking for valet parking people since they have more money for it
But being armed would not have helped with this . They didn’t catch the people in the act of doing the crimes they were followed and the criminals waited till they had left their vehicles.
@@Matt-xv2cp I am using my brain looney tune . I watching the video and the facts of what happened here . Try using your brain and your eyes and watch the video. I swear there’s always a moron that thinks a gun is the answer to everything. SMH 🤦♂
@@johnmcguire1734 lol, noticed how you didn't address my comment about the hundreds of violent crimes in the Houston area, with video evidence in many cases, where innocent, unarmed victims are assaulted, shot, stabbed, beaten and killed, with no way to protect themselves. You ever watch The First 48? Dozens of murders in Houston, victim had nothing to protect themselves. You're outta your league here, son. I'm a professional at this sht, but by all means, keep runnin your mouth.
This happened to me before except when I noticed, I drove to the police station instead of going home. When I pulled onto the parking lot they kept going. I went inside to report the incident.
This story is confusing as hell. Was it a valet who followed them home? Did a valet put a tracking device on the car? Do they know for sure they were followed or are they assuming that?
@Error Report ok so then they weren’t being followed by being tracked … because if someone’s following me especially into my neighborhood ima be on it . Speaking for myself so if you’re not observant that’s on you
This is happening nationwide, the feds have to get involved. Its sad people may have to start buying scanners for gps trackers, to scan their cars when time they go out
Bro I live in Dallas and even I have seen constant news coverage on this starting this summer up until last week. Situational awareness is like eating vegetables to these people. You went to the galleria…. Check High end store…. Check….. walked through the mall with your flashy bags…. Check got in your car and danced to Rihanna all the way home…. Omg I can’t believe I did exactly what every other victim did and they still robbed me smh
that guy was probably glued to his phone the whole time while shopping and driving home, constantly scrolling and typing on social media , a very easy MARK, begging a criminal to target him, he got followed all the way to Spring from 610/Westheimer, that is far. People need to stay off their phones while out in public and driving
I was followed a short distance-always aware of surroundings as they say. Not from shopping, just drove past my home and doubled back which confirmed I was indeed being followed. So I pulled over-having 3 carry permits-gripped a 357 snubbie in cupholder just in case. Guy just wanted to compliment my bumper sticker-no problem. With all the shootings that have have occurred in last couple of years and been a crime victim more than once as I worked nights years ago I'm security conscious. Not paranoid just prepared.
Adam-12 had an episode that had a high-end restaurant valet who would alert bugalars where to go, robbing the home of the patrons as they dined. Same mechanism.
I was a valet/ concierge in downtown Denver, I seen some people do shady things. Anything in your car can be searched through or stolen and you have to be able to prove it. I won't ever valet my car. We were a five star, top of the line, high end hotel and executive suites, we had the NHL, NBL and fox sports contracts. Sme of the employees were shady shady over twenty years ago,who knows how bad they are now with it being low level pay. Those guys could find hookers and drugs for the customers though lol🤨🙄🤣
Listen, you should have a PO Box for everything including your car registration and car insurance. The reason is to deter this type of illegal activity. The reason is that if you have your home address on your insurance card in the glove compartment the valet folks can still write down your home address and give it out to the thieves. Also, if you ever have to give your keys for repairs or valet ONLY give your car keys keep your house key etc.
People, please remember that AMEX, Mastercard, and Visa all have purchase protection in place for their customers. The time frame is generally from 90-120 days. You have up to 3-4 months after the theft, or damage to file a claim. This is another form of theft. Why wouldn't the thieves follow a Range Rover, G-Wagon, Rolls Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, or other high-end vehicles that are often seen at the Galeria, instead of traveling 30 miles to get a few items? Why would he travel 30 miles back to the Galleria, and where was the footage of the vandalism? This is a scam, and major credit card companies have excellent investigators, and they will prosecute for credit card fraud.
@Mystery Manifest The galleria is surrounded by wealthy communities. There isn't a reason to follow someone 30 miles to Spring. Even a blind man can see this scam.
I believe it would be wiser to start purchasing our Christmas presents throughout the year so that when Christmas arrives we can lay low so to speak. It will also likely help us to enjoy the holiday much better, eliminating the stress of having to shop with a crowd of people and taking a chance of being stalked and robbed.
Pretty simple, Obtain call logs/ text logs for the evening from all staff related to parking (Should be a low number). Cross reference hits on cell towers near the victims. Match obvious numbers, geolocate then arrest. Less than 48 hours needed
***** GUYSSSSSS PLEASE BE CAREFULLLLLLL ---- DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN THE CAR AT ALLL!!! ------ THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN HOUSTON ------ EVEN at the parks ---Memorial park and Katy Park --- two cars got broken into ---- one of them the girls had left her purse in the back seat ------- PEOPLE ARE WATCHING ------- MAKE IT VERY OBVIOUS THAT YOU ARE CARRYING YOUR PURSE WITH YOU OUTSIDE THE CAR --- THE HIGH END STORES ARE "NOT GOING TO CARE" THAT YOU LOST THE GOODS ------- TIS THE SEASON TO BE EXTREMELY VIGILANT --------- ALSO DONT TRUST VALETS!!! ---- THE VALETS AROUND HOUSTON------- NO COMMENT--------------------------------------------------
If you think you're being followed make 4 consective turns. If the car follows you for that, they're definitely following you because rarely anyone just does that. Then head to a police station. Don't go home where you are vulnerable.
So at some point during this 30 mi trek, presuming they knew they were being followed, why didn't they get on the phone and let the police know about it, or pull into a police station somewhere along the way? Back in the late '70s somebody followed me about 40 or 50 miles on a highway and as soon as I saw a cop I made sure to pull over and tell him I was being followed. In the 90s I had a stranger jump into my car pointing a screwdriver at me and just kept driving until I could get to a place where there was a cop, he jumped out and ran.
I know someone who’s uncle used a valet at a restaurant. He had a fully restored antique car. When he went to leave, the car was missing…valet workers are so criminal. I’ve had some money taken from my car…not much, but some.
This is a tactic that has been used in California for some time. Especially in Los Angeles, where well off locals/tourist shop. Only difference here is the TX victim didn't get a weapon stuck in his face, and he wasn't severely assaulted like in Caifornia. Pay attention to your surroundings, don't lead people to your home, and always conceal carry.
Wow how is this possible???? I always pay attention to a car or cars behind me. I work at night and I am very aware of my surroundings I pay attention to every detail of everything. No way somebody could follow me for 30 miles even if they weren’t directly behind my car I would know if a car is making Al the same turns as much and never goes out of sight
This is probably very traumatizing for them, having someone violate them this way. They lost thousands of dollars plus I assume they damaged their car. But, when I first started watching this video, I was thinking it was probably about a home invasion, kidnapping, or maybe murder. I was happy to hear the family is ok and none were physically hurt! As bad as this is, at least they will all still be together on Christmas. Hope they catch the people that did this to them.
I'm glad that people where I live don't do this. But even here things are getting worse. What would society be like if we all take from each other? We would be left with a society where no one has anything.
The night before Easter about 20 years ago, I was about 10, my grandma (who was always wearing about 20 very expensive rings on her fingers at all times) & my grandpa had just finished going shopping and to the bank to make a large withdrawl for all their grandkids to have $ in our Easter cards, they happend to be followed home. The morning of Easter as we went to church their house was broken into. We got back to celebrate and the house was destroyed all my grandmas rings were gone & all the money (& other things) my grandma has never worn jewelry out in public since. We never found out who they were. They climbed in under the pool deck by cutting a hole into the actual deck & climbed into the tiny basement window! That’s so sad that one of the victims just stopped at a friends or something People have to no to bring their stuff inside now. Uh I feel so sad for him!
sorry to hear that. I'm around your age. I learned a long time ago as a teen to not dress or speak flashy. There's always envious losers watching who want to steal for nice things instead of earn them.
He acted like 15 minutes inside the home wasn't long at long, 1 second is to long. People watch this video and DON'T DO WHAT THIS GUY DID, take your bag's inside any place you're going into period. This people out here are ruthless ASF.
Police are assuming he was followed. But what if an GPS locator or Apple tag was planted inside/on the victims car? That would enable thieves to follow them at a distance and not be seen. Valet parking seems to be when victims are targeted & tagged.
Ok so, sounds like a valet is a look out! So criminals are working together! Ok now imagine if neighbors worked together! The ppl on both sides of you AND across the street too. Call at least 1 or 2 to say, hey I'm on the way & be there in a few. If these crooks follow you home, they'll have no idea your neighbors are waiting too. If those crooks pull guns, fake surrender & fall down, while your neighbor(s) blind sides them. That's textbook self defense & completely legal.
Right that's what I was saying because people are disgusting make some crazy turns .It will totally put the spot light on them😂😂follow me if you want to the nerve😡😡😡
I remember a long time ago when I was on the run from the US Marshals I used to drive on the freeway, and every now and then i would exit and jump right back on while looking in my rear view to see if anyone did the same. Very easy maneuver. 😎👍 I miss the good ol’ days!! 😂
Ahhh, Inside Job. Very crafty! Valet brings vehicle around and sees all the high end store purchases and gets in touch with thier accomplices who follow the vehicle at a distance. Kinda well orchestrated heist I must say. Juggers gonna jug.
Maybe something is wrong with me but there's no way I'd park my car with thousands of dollars of merchandise in it. Also, when I get home, I don't get out of my car until after my garage door is completely closed.
