I absolutely love our coach, and I absolutely love my Texas Longhorns. We were there tonight at the Super Dome and we kept our heads held HIGH as we left the building. So proud of my Longhorns and can’t wait until next season.. #Longhornnation 🤘🏻🧡 #hookemhorns
Love ya’ll! Tough loss and yes this was a great season and appreciate the leadership of this team giving us their best. The future looks very bright still! Hook em!
Quinn should have been on point from the beginning. Between penalties and crazy throws this should have been better prepared for Texas. We should have had that TD at the end no excuses. We had this. Lots of should of and could of but happy to see Texas get this far anyway.
Great game and hats off to the Huskies. Amazing QB and passing game! That dude (Penix) was throwing darts all night. Horns up Big 12 Champs! Y'all Bout to go on a NC dynasty run. That's my prediction. 🤘🤘
I'm an avid OU fan but I would like to thank the Texas football team for a very successful year. I was hoping you guys would win at all. But you had a great year and you've got a great coach.
Great season horns. Would have been awesome to win it at the end. But still an improvement and better season than the majority of other teams. Next year will be even better. Hook’em!
Thank you Sark and team for a wonderful season. You’ve galvanized this fan base in a way that hasn’t been seen in 14 years. I think i speak for all of longhorn nation when i say im proud of the way the guys fought all season long. Those close wins and clutch moments showed a football character that can only be achieved by a culture of togetherness and maximum effort. Its evident that the team made incremental improvement every day for the last 365. Sark evolved as a play caller, solving the 3-3-5 and amoeba fronts with extreme formations. He made great in-game adjustments, breaking tendency and script at critical times. PK coached up a defense that was money on money downs. Bo Davis reminded us about what happens when you mess with the bull, turning sweat from a matador on that bus to an outland trophy winning draft pick. And the players, no matter the down or distance, they personified Texas fight. This team fought against pitiful commissioners, trash talking head coaches, big 12 refs, iowa st linemen, presnap penalties, injuries, and missed red zone opportunities. For this they were rewarded with the glory of a conference championship. However, they were also challenged with the fresh feeling of agony, and in order to defeat that they must continue to fight
The Huskies also fumbled. They also went for it on 4th down while in field goal range and didn't get it. They also kept trying to run when the running game wasn't working. If the Huskies coach DeBoer knew how to call plays the Huskies would of own by at least 3 touchdowns.
@@googlemyself4091that argument goes both ways, Sark had some really questionable play calling, Ewers didn’t give his receivers a chance to make plays and the run game had to be relied upon solely, this didn’t look like the Texas team from the end of the regular season. Had that team shown up, Texas could have been up a couple touchdowns certainly. In the end, Washington was more disciplined, and Penix’s play far exceeded Ewers play and it won them the game.
Ewers didn’t play with confidence he looked defeated while he sat on the bench. I remember Vince Young looking at the game while taking a knee hungry to go out and kick some butt which led to the championship!
Saying our dline was absent is crazy. They completely shut down Washington’s run game, and although I wish the got more pressure on penix they were the only highlight of our defense
I wanted to second my fellow Huskies. Great game, much respect, the come back and almost taking it in the end, was special and scary as hello. Gg though, good luck next year, take the SEC, maybe we can do it again.
I hope the Texas offense line will watched the film of this game. The Washington offense line played lights out to ensure Penix didn't get touched. Texas needs defense backs that can play man to man. A good QB will pick apart a zone everytime. 😮😮
For the first time in a long time I really think we’re close to being contenders again. Love Satk and what he’s put together. Gonna get tougher in the SEC but I think we will respond well
A good season, but they came short, not with personnel but with mentality and culture. Texas needed to prepare better, even with a month to do so. Texas played undisciplined and thought they could show up and win, much like when they played against OU. Washington was, without a doubt, the better team. No sacks and no pressure on Penix Jr. Washington receivers caught the balls all night.
To all my Longhorn brothers and sisters, I submit the following: 1) We all knew this game would be a shoot-out. 2) Yes, it hurts to lose such a closs game. 3) Everyone knows it's WAY better to lose a close game than to get blown out..... it just doesn't feel that way at then moment. 4) Few among us, Longhorns & & non Horns alike predicted Texas to go THIS far in only our new coaches' 3'rd year. 5) We were just ONE pass completion from yet ANOTHER NATONAL CHAPIONSHIP game appearance. Having stated these sobering & legitimate facts and truly meaning every word: ....... ...... ..... .... ... .. . Motor Foaker! Some Beach! Sock Cuck' in, Dat Freak' in shite ain't right, Life's NOT fair it's all Greg Davis's fault and ...... I'm Freak' in Pissed! Aside from that though- it's all good. Ok, cool- Hook'em! 😉
If quinn would have thrown that ball right at Mitchells jersey numbers he had more of an opportunity to catch the ball. Why throw it so high in the air for the defender to slap it away. I think a slant to the opposite side of Mitchell would have been a better call. Our secondary NEEDS TO START LOOKING FOR THE BALL WHEN ITS IN THE AIR. Proud of the guys and what they have achieved. We still Big 12 Champs!! 🤘
I agree 100%. Been saying the same thing. He had plenty of room in front to throw a catchable ball that Mitchell could have easily snagged. Oh well.....
Honestly until late in the 4th Quarter Washnton shoulda won this game 40+ they shoulda blew out the longhorns the way they were playing Texas had no answers for their offesnse.
I think ewers played with a substantial lack of confidence in this game which in turn got UT offense going far to late they played from behind this entire game and didn’t really utilize the weapons they had ewers gave worthy and Mitchell the least amount of opportunities in a single game and it was the most important this far. I hate to say it but his inconsistency might not have cost this game but It definitely is hurting his team and was def a reason they lost today I saw him losing and just went into a shell didn’t try and instill confidence in the guys or anything just sat on the bench moping. That isn’t how you lead a team . The secondary got completely ripped apart maybe this is a coaching issue cause Texas secondary has struggled and been the weakest since sark came in honestly he’s being sympathetic in saying they fought there hearts out .they actually played awful football and were they’re own worst enemies penalties that could be avoided and especially turnovers that second fumble completely changed the trajectory of the game. Sorry Texas but the better team won today y’all didn’t deserve to even have an opportunity to win this game y’all got beat in every stat line
@@machtschnell7452 no sark is overrated. Calls the dumbest plays at the worst time. The biggest weakness last year was 3rd quarter adjustments. He goes and gets extra firepower and plays a team in the playoffs with a secondary that wasnt world beaters. He lets his qb start the game 9 for 18 when 2 rbs are averaging 7 ypc. Waits till the last second to throw it deep. Runs a rb swing play on 1st down from the 13 down 1 score with no timeouts and 15 seconds left on the clock. I keep telling younger texas fans dont drink the Kool aid. You had the game even with sark in the way.
Game truthfully should of been 44-19... or in that neighborhood. Game was not as close as the score indicates and Husky mistakes let Texas stay around, not Texas X' and O's.
I believe the coin flip was the coin flip to decide the winner not to decide whether you receive the ball or defer the rest is scripted. Sark went away what was working, which is uncharacteristic of this team. We were dominating in the two back sets, so why go away from it
OU fan here. Texas did pretty well and of course they always have those last minute “ oh my god their going to do It again”… this time it caught up to them.. better luck next year Texas..see you in the Cotton Bowl… BOOMER !!!
When Texas cut washington’s lead to 6. Needed a stop and gave up the field goal. Lossed in the turnover battle and penalties really hurt I though Texas should have run the ball more. Control the game and keep Washington offense off field but a lot of third and longs made it difficult. Still a great effort put Texas in position to win. Just could not get that score in closing seconds
The Huskies should of threw the ball more. They did what they wanted passing wise. They will march down field, get in the red zone by passing. Then stop passing and try to run and do nothing so they have to kick a field goal. Washington made it harder than they had too.
Sarkesian should have gone for 2 thus making it a 5 point game. then a washington fg keeps it an 8 point game. i was screaming at my tv when they kicked the extra point.
@@JoefromNJ1 You do realize Washington went for it on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal and didn't get it? The game shouldn't even have been that close it Washington would of just kept passing the ball instead of trying to run it.
Still missing better coaching on both sides, with penalties that were so critical in such an important game. So many plays that defence played 12 yards of Washington recievers in final minutes. They were more prepared than Texas was!
Texas was not prepared for this game and slept on the Huskies. AD Mitchell had to get pissed to get a throw his way. You can’t have that much talent on the field and ignore to use them. There is no way they should have lost.
@@rillo806 that 9 for 18 stat for ewers to start the game that was all i needed to see but i wont bash ewers to much that was the worst offensive gameplan i have ever seen from a coach with all those players
Just wanted to thank kirk bohls for believing in Washington since he was the vary first to vote us #1 in week 5. He truly had an eye for what was to come! Bow down!
Joel Klatt said it a month ago. Texas will struggle mightily on pass defense. Ahhh, yeah that was pretty much a 100% call. How do you gash them in the run game the way Texas did and not keep doing it to keep Penix and crew off the field and slow the game down? Unreal, these guys get paid millions and almost never follow that rule. Ewers is good, but he's no Penix, and you knew that going in. Just dumb.
Penix is a six year player, a professional taking advantage of the NIL so making a career of college football. He should be better than every quarterback in the country. Apples to oranges.
