Only about 30 years behind Idaho which made the 2nd Amendment an Article in our State Constitution as well as making it a felony to even attempt to enforce a federal gun law in the state. They say that the second amendment protects from tyranny but originally the second amendment protects the people's right to assemble into a militia. The militia being the people who protect their state and local geographical locations should there be war between people of different states or if the federal government invades a state qith the military. So maybe I can protect against a tyrant but when JFK was shot they didn't allow it. Like the troops that Abraham Licoln used in a total of 75,000 people. So in reality, it's to protect the first amendment. I don't think it's for tyranny because of impeachment procedures. Why would we ever kill a tyrant if there's impeachment processes? Just a thought, and if we were to kill a tyrant, would the court uphold that? Especially if the tyrants political party holds the majority in the court in terms of nominations and ideologies corresponding to the same ideologies as the person entitled to patronage? To some, trump was a tyrant or a fascist but to others he's the greatest president alive. So how would a gun be beneficial to protect against tyranny?
