Me doing "Sweetest Poison" by Texas In July off their latest album "Bloodwork". A great band with whom I already had the pleasure of sharing the stage with in 2011 in Vienna. (With one of my former bands.)
Since there is no tab out yet, I figured out the whole thing by ear, so I'm not sure if everything is correct. Also, as always, some mistakes here and there. Especially the transition to the quiet part I fucked up a little, but whatever... #yolo
And now excuse me while I'm buying a new right hand xD

Amazing dude, I don't know who would dislike this. Hearing those extra sounds that aren't apart of the song are what makes it an authentic and real cover. Great work, I'm subbing :)

Thanks! The video is almost 10 years old and I think my technique got a bit „cleaner“ over the years, so I probably wouldn‘t play it like that anymore but I remember back then it worked like a charm actually

I just got this video in my recommended, and WOW, what a flawless cover! I attempted using your picking technique but I don't know how you are able to do it lmao. Amazing job on the cover nonetheless!❤

Hey thank you very much! Funny that this still gets recommended haha Okok haha, well I don‘t really use that technique like that nowadays, so I‘m not sure if I would advise anyone to use it (I never had a teacher so it kinda developed because I thought this is how you do it) Maybe it‘s even easier to play this using the „normal“ technique haha

Thanks a lot! My technique has changed a bit over the years towards the more „commonly used“ one, but in it‘s core it is similar still! Thanks for appreciating, my technique used to get a lot of criticism as well haha, but I don‘t think it really matters when everything sounds right

What's your setup like? That is really nice distortion you're working with, especially with your palm muting and stuff. Is there a certain amp you're working with or what?

I'm using the AxeFX Ultra, an amp simulator, for all of my stuff. Not sure what exact settings I used on this one, but I usually go with an overdrive pedal (that one does a lot^^) plus a high gain top plus a 4x12 cab.

Awesome cover! I was waiting for someone to cover this song so I can learn it haha. I have just one part to nitpick: your picking seems weird to me, especially during the breakdowns, but well, if it works for you :) Again, great cover! A lil' question: what pickups are these? I'm guessin' Bareknuckle Aftermath. They sound fuckin' awesome!

Thanks for the nice words and have fun learning the track! :) Yeah man I know that my technique is a bit "special", for I never had a guitar teacher, but yeah it's been working so far^^ Those are actually Warpigs! They're a bit more bass-y compared to the Aftermaths. I love em and can only recommend them :)

Great cover, but your picking technique looks like a beginner's would, no offense. Once you get the technique down, you will probably turn into a god.

Jacob K Thanks! :) Yeah, I get that a lot^^ I'm self-taught, that's probably the reason why. I am actually able to play with the "right" technique, because there are many parts where I have no other choice than to do so, but for heavy chuggin parts, like in this song, I feel much more comfortable and precise using my own weird style somehow... But maybe I'll fix that sometime. Been playing for 10 years now and I never had a serious problem playing songs that way. But it sure does look strange :)
