My goodness Crystal is so beautiful... then you take a bullet to the face and foot. She's going to have to be a very strong person to come out the other side of this physically and mentally. They probably weren't full auto. Sometimes people refer, mistakenly, to self-loading semi-autos as "automatic." And id even hazard a guess the media intentionally made the that mistake in order to further muddy the distinctions between firearm types.

I don’t know if the media are completely ignorant or they are purposely and falsely describing the pistols involved as “automatic” pistols. Although there do exist some automatic style pistols, ordinary citizens cannot get their hands on these…they are not for civilian use. Instead, the pistols used by the perp were most likely “semi-automatic” pistols. In other words, one shot for every pull of the trigger. With a semi-automatic pistol, the action of the slide feeds another round into the chamber for another shot, BUT one must still pull the trigger a second, third, fourth time, etc. with an automatic pistol or rifle, one can simply pull the trigger and hold it and the pistol or rifle will fire a number of successive shots. Please, please stop referring to AR-15’s, and other semi-auto weapons as fully “automatic”. Additionally, another complete mistake that the media makes is the assumption that AR stands for “automatic rifle”…this is a complete fallacy. AR denotes the original manufacturer of these style rifles which is a company called Armalite. As for the officer involved in this unfortunate tragedy, our thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family for a complete recovery!
