Texas singer Charley Crockett is lucky to be alive and still singing the blues 

I started listening to Charley and immediately fell in love with his style. Oddly enough, shortly after discovering his music and becoming a huge fan, my mom found out she was in need of an aortic valve replacement. Somehow, right before my mom's surgery, I came across this video and these two seemingly separate worlds collided. The amount of comfort this short video brought me was astounding. I found it two days before her surgery and I knew that if Charley can continue tour, put on an amazing show, and boogie-woogie with the best of 'em- I knew that my mom would be just fine. As of now, my mom is one year post-surgery and doing well. If you came across this video because you or your loved ones are experiencing medical hardship, I hope this brings you comfort in a time of need; that's exactly what it did for me.

its always mind blowin running into someone else with a congenital heart issue, i only just learned about this guy's amazing music and then found out he has a heart condition, amazin. i had heart surgeries when i was a baby so i knew it was part of my life but then when i was 16 and they told me i would finally need another one it was a real shock, but im still alive and well and its good to see Charley is too

I have an autoimmune disease called mixed connective tissue disease. It's caused me to develop an aortic aneurysm and a leaking aortic valve. I had open heart surgery 3 years ago on August 2nd 2018. My disease has caused other issues like pericarditis, pericardial effusions and myocarditis. I found your music long before all this but it was interesting to find out how much we have in common heart wise. Hope your recovery is going well. Don't rush it and look forward to catching a show sometime.
