I've actually recently heard of a couple of people doing that. I think that would be a great idea and something I'll be trying soon. The bigger diameter would also be better for long term hand health since it's not as much direct pressure.
I bought 1 of these because I have creaky shoulders & could not do back squats with a regular bar; I was using a safety squat bar & a homemade belt squat & they were fine, but i wanted to be able to do back squats. The extra length on this is a game-changer for me, and the build quality is excellent. I got mine in cerakote; I think you forgot to tmention tat option.
I couldn't agree more. I have some decently wide shoulders and squat low bar, so any time I've tried to squat with my texas power bar I get this horrible pain in my anterior delts. I'm stoked to be able add this bar to my collection. I did completely forget that they have that option. Which is actually really important for garage gym owners as it can help with the longevity of the bar.
