Dudes a legend here. Every disaster we’ve had he’s the first to open his business to anyone. He feeds everyone at his own cost and lets them use the furniture to sleep on. Great man, selfless one of a kind.
They'll likely be back, with all the pipes bursting there's a high risk of water damage, and mold. Lot of furniture may have to be replaced. But first priority will be to fix the pipes, and walls.
Mattress Mac has been a saint to Houston for decades. He’s done so much for us during hurricanes, flooding, and now this winter storm without power. Someone to genuinely look up to.
@@MM-km5zf "What you are thunders so loudly, I cannot hear what you are saying." Ralph Waldo Emerson. In other words, actions speak louder than any BS your mouth may be spewing.
@@sharonsekhon9475 Sharon, I wish to reply to you, but your language is VERY difficult to understand. Go back and make corrections, and make sure the sentences make sense. Obviously, you are "spewing" so much that you don't make sense.
Remember, everyone. Don't hope that there will be more people like this amazing man. Be like this amazing man. Edit: Thank you all so much for all the likes! This is the most I've actually ever gotten.
Houston better make this man the man of the year or the man of a lifetime cuz I remember this man helped people during the hurricanes when our government didn't want to do anything to help us give this man a medal he needs it
I would love to work for this MAN.. What a great way for business too helping the community and building a great rapport because people remember when someone showed them kindness
This man is a true Christian I knew about him when I lived in Houston he has always been a giver. He is a true Samaritan both hard and spirit there are very few people in the world like him. God bless you and Jesus loves you.
He’s the biggest furniture business in Houston outside of IKEA, people have been shopping with him for decades and will still do so. Heck I remember going there with my parents to shop at his first location and that was over 30 years ago.
Remember when Joel Osteen refused to allow Texans to shelter in his church during the hurricane disaster, the church that was built by the donation of his congregants, after so much back lash, he finally allowed....Here is a man who to don't pretended to speak to god...just a wholesome goodness and kindness...
Didn’t Lakewood flood during Harvey though? The Summit, which Lakewood took over, was built in the 70’s and actually a considerable portion of it is below ground level. So getting into it and keeping people safe would have been difficult
I’ve never met a Texan, in person, that I didn’t like. Their politics might be wackadoo, they may represent everything I hate from a social conscience perspective, but face to face they can be amazing. I don’t understand it, though Cruz might be a bridge to far......
@@lindakazsals8858 lets say the house you are renting AC went out in the middle of the summer which is 100 plus degrees, your landlord is aware but instead of taking care of the problem like he should. He goes to Colorado on a 4 day ski trip leaving you and your kids stuck in a hot 100 degree house...so the idea of going on vacation is not what is pissing everybody off its ted did so in the middle of a crisis when he should have been doing his damn job. Jerk!
@@lindakazsals8858 Ppl jealous Rafael Cruz went to Cancun? That dump? I wouldn’t even give it 3 stars. Why was Rafael flying commercial? He knew ppl would see him. Maybe he wanted to be seen? I know his buddy at Maralago was watching, and approves! Because In 6 minutes. I could board a private flight from one of the 2 private airports here in Horseshoe Bay Texas. To anywhere besides Cancun. (And my father’s ppl came from the Yucatán Peninsula.) Right now San Juan Puerto Rico is doing better then Texas. This power and water damage is going to cost Texans many more Billions more the Puerto Rico’s hurricane damage. My best friend Mike, is heading back from there as we speak.
Wow!!! I wish a had the right words to match the kindness your actions, to compliment and thank you.but am left speechless... I can only wish that God blesses you in a greatter light.. Nd also those in need. Stay strong Texas
I grew up in Houston. I watched mattress mack go from selling furniture out of a tent on I-45 to the great business he built today. I went to school with his son. He gave jobs to most of my friends. He has donated and done so much to the city, hospitals , shelters, schools and more. He is about the greatest guy anybody will ever know.
Once again it amazes me this man literraly helps during every disaster despite his age I know he gets tired but this man's heart is too big for him to just stand there doing nothing a HOUSTON TX LEGEND!
This man has done so much for the people of Houston over the years. Not only does he give shelter he also gives food, water, hand sanitizers & face mask for free. He has such a giant heart. During the beginning of COVID I bought my mattress through him and totally fan girled just getting to see him answering the phones and working the front desk. ❤
