I am happy with Tim DeRuyter, he is the best DC since McNeil in giving up points to Big 12 teams. We have some needs, like better edge production, but we are decent on D and seem to play better in the 2nd half of the season once Tim figures out what we can and can't do. While I am not excited about the OL, I feel better than I did this time the last 2 seasons.
I hope this means our guys feel reinvigorated, motivated and ready to go for the Baylor game. This is a big game. Win and you’re bowl eligible with a lot to play for moving forward. Let’s go Red Raiders.
Man this year is slowly turning into a good one when we are healthy we can compete for the top of our league now that Texas and OU are gone it's time the OG's of the league take what's ours and that being the best in big 12
I’m not certain unless it’s a blowout that they don’t have Tahj on the field. He’s like a small guard in pass protection and he’s the reason why play action works
The defense is really pretty young this year, that's a fact. The more snaps they get the better they get and I think we're starting to see that. Remember, they've talked a lot about getting Tahj the rushing record. He needs to pretty much get 100+ every game. And all-conference and all-america wouldn't hurt the brand either. Oh yeah, winning, that too. 😁 Getting a cushion would be great. That's why I'm looking forward to a game when all 3 sides of the ball are clicking. That just hasn't come very close yet. That might be fun.
I want the players and coaches taking things one week at a time but as a crazy fan I’m gonna look ahead. Tech really needs to take care of business and continue to show improvement against Baylor and TCU because the ISU game could potentially be huge in the conference race. Obviously anyone can beat anyone but BYU is looking very serious and could potentially win out. Having a tie breaker over the cyclones would be massive but we need to show that we can play a clean and efficient game if we want to have a chance in Ames. Also, any update on the new football facility? Any possibility that all of the temporary facilities had a negative affect on training camp that contributed to the slow start?
Dingle is much more than just a SPY. He is a great LB like many of the LBs we have. I would put a lot of pressure with blitzes on Robertson with Jacob, Ben, Dingle and the LBs. Robertson is prone to throwing interceptions especially when he is rushed. Robertson like to run, we have seen and dealt with this before and will handle it again vs Robertson. Jacob, Ben, and Dingle will take care of Robertson. We have more great LBs Bryce, Curry, Smith, and we have a lot more I have not seen much of Amier, Ansel, Charles, Sam, Wesley, Terrell, Justin, Gage, Trent from what I see on the stats sheet. We have a lot of LBs and good ones. I like our WRs vs their secondary. We should look to exploit the Bears in the pass game. I like Tahj vs their run D. We should incorporate Dickey and J'Koby in the RB pass game. With the pass game and run game both operating at a high level we should be putting up a lot of points. I like our run D DL and LBs vs Baylors run game. Our DL has to get pressures, disruptions, fumbles, batted down balls, rushes, and sacks on pass plays. Have to find a way to get to the QB on a 4 man rush in a known passing down. Tech 45 - 17 Baylor. Lets make something like that happen 👆
