Texas and OU have only been officially a member for 2 weeks and Finebaum is already throwing shade. Fine. Texas only expects to work hard and do their best to play for championships. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s not one sport, but all of them. Not anything more than goals.

SEC schools lose recruits to other SEC schools all the time. Maybe not as many as before but you’re going up against Georgia, Bama, LSU, Ole Miss, A&M, OU. They’re not going to clean house. Too much competition.

As a OU fan thank you Longhorns for taking all the spotlight and pressure off us cause i don’t think OU will fare well this season that being said I would love to see Texas beat Georgia and A&M

As a Horns fan I do agree with Mad Dog...show me! They got the talent and culture to win, but they need to EMBRACE THE HATE they will receive in the SEC.
I agree 100% and i'm from Texas. The media acts like the world revolves around Texas. We have history and culture regarding the game of football, but these media oulets wont leave my Longhorns alone. Always trying to create a story.
There are two universal truths in college football: Texas A&M thinks they are an elite team and Texas thinks it is the most important team in college football.
When you look at total revenue from this past year, Texas is 2nd overall behind Ohio State. 3 out of the top 5, 7 out of the top 10, and 11 of the top 20 schools ranked by total revenue are SEC. 14 of the SEC's 16 teams are Top 30. No one from the Big XII made the top 30. Texas won't try to run the SEC because they won't have to. The Big XII outside of Oklahoma was all dead weight siphoning off Texas's clout and earnings. The SEC stands on its own.

Texas fans don't fully understands what they're in for yet. Last year to finish their regular season, this was their 6 week stretch: Houston, BYU, K-State, TCU, Iowa State, Texas Tech..... You can absolutely forget about having a cupcake stretch like that ever again. Mind you, they nearly lost 3 of those games. Welcome to the SEC, but prepare to have your heart broken a lot more now.
Texas suffered the classic rat poison game with the big12 title. Yes Washington played a perfect game while Texas was hung over playing sloppy and we still almost pulled it off. Texas WILL be a sec title contender everyone is forgetting Sark did coach in the sec this is nothing new for him. HOOK’EM 🤘🏻
The best thing that ever happened to Texas is Nil that oil money lets keep it a bean they were ok before cause the SEC was getting all the best talent out of Texas they were middle of the road but money changed the game and they got plenty to spend
To be fair, Texas only ran the Big XII because they kinda sorta had to. It's Texas, Oklahoma, and a bunch of high school teams trying to demand an equal slice of predominantly Oklahoma and Texas pie. No one else was pulling their weight. In the SEC, Texas has significantly more help from every other program than they've ever had. They won't "run" the SEC, because they won't have to. Texas's stadium is 20,000 more than Oklahoma and 40,000 more than the 3rd largest stadium in the Big XII, Iowa State. In the SEC, Texas's 100,000+ stadium is 5th and Oklahoma's 80,000+ stadium is 9th.
There's the attitude MU and A&M warned the SEC about. Texas is the reason NU, CU, MU, and A&M left the Big12. Texas and OU left after they actually had to start carrying the conference in 2012. Let's not forget about how Texas killed the SWC, as well.
Let's be honest here.everyone really wants Texas to do bad no matter what conference they are in. It looks like everyone is scared to death that they will come in and do well where will these people be if Texas does come in and run the SEC this is not the same team that played in the big12 the past decade

Texas has the key now to dominate; they should be able to recruit anyone they want, if they don’t succeed, it’s coaching and recruiting period, it’s the only thing that will hold them back
I gurantee 4 loses for Texas. No playoffs. Georgia, LSU and Alabama are clearly more experienced and better. And at least 6 other games will be a toss-up as there will be no easy win in SEC. They are looking at 4 to 8 losses in a year.
Texas has always been incredibly overrated. Outside of the '05 Longhorns, I can't think of a Texas team that was complete and dominant. Chris Simms, Colt McCoy, Sam Ehlinger, Quinn Ewers... their teams were all hyped up because of the name on the front of the jersey and all got exposed in their biggest games. Steve Sarkisian is not the answer. He flamed out at Washington, got fired for alcoholism by USC, and is only a few years removed from being a forty-year old video coordinator. Texas couldn't even beat a Washington team that didn't belong last season. What makes you think they'd beat Georgia, Ohio State, or Oregon?

Thank you! Literally no one that’s a Texas fan is saying that we are just going to walk in and run things. Like you said, the sec right now runs through Georgia. We do have the schedule that is fairly easy other than Georgia and maybe Michigan. But this is the sec and anything can happen🤘🏾

Nailed it the world of college football revolves around Texas...not exactly but close in our minds. Contenders for sure, they will have attitude and be ready. Don't sleep on them with too much SEC Kool aide. Respect for the SEC teams for sure.
Texas will be competing for the SEC championship for many years to come will they win many SEC titles? Only time will tell and many nayers will be surprized!
