Some of ya'll came here with the intention of wanting to misunderstand Ms. Figaro's message. She knows the president can't move on his own, she literally said that Joe Biden knew he had to run things by congress, etc yet he still made these promises. With anything that one wants to change, better words would be "I will try" or " I will work towards". Most of these politicians say, "I will" because they know that those words will likely secure your vote and that needs to stop. Open your ears and clip your emotions. That is all. Although I don't agree with Ms. Figaro some times, she is correct about where the POWER LIES. The local elections are the most important. That's why Trump folks are pressing to get their people in these local positions. It's not time to stay home.

Everyone involved in Jan 6th should be treated in the same fashion as those who were claimed to have been tied to isis or al qaeda

Politicians never felt the amount of pain that they deserve for what they've done to our society

it's bothersome how ignorant Charlamagne and Envy are when it comes to politics and Washington yet have some of the strongest opinions about politics and Washington.

When you have a party that won't vote for getting baby formula to families faster or remove price gouging on high gas prices, how do you think that Biden will be able to get any kind of progress through. I want to say, just vote, but in reality you need to vote not just Dems or Repubs, but Dems/Repubs who don't accept money from corporations or lobbyists. Only when that happens they'll begin to detach themselves from money and we'll get our system in order.

Salute to my former employer miss tez Figaro. The allied group provided major opportunity for us in our own community to see some beautiful things and get paid as well as garner the experience to succeed elsewhere. She held us accountable to the utmost and we grew to respect ourselves more as a staff because she put that battery in my back as a young man to have confidence in the workplace as a young BLACK MAN. I heard someone else say something similar. As a BW I completely agree with getting at peoples pockets. I truly believe if more black people started getting million dollar life insurance policies, the laws will change damn near overnight. The individual people may not have the power, and marching ain't doing it. But let these multi-million dollar insurance companies have to pay out 100 million dollar policies, they will lean on the administration to get laws to change.

I feel as black people, we should come together, put up 50-100 of our best and brightest lawyers, economist, futurists, and politicians... raise $500M (we're worth multiple trillions, in theory it should take nothing to raise this), pay these people for a few years and have them work on our issues. Other cultures and races come together like the LBGT community, the Hispanic community, the Jewish community, raise money put their best and brightest forth, have them work on the issues and they get laws changed, and created. Let's get a list of 50 things we need to survive, and aim to get at least 20 laws change and/or created (that's 40%, and in contrast under Obama the LBGT community got 4 laws created under Obama, so 20 may be a long shot but u get the point). We should stop voting democrat or republican, and just vote for whoever leans your interest. Party loyalty is detrimental to our health as a people long term. We also need to back the politicians for us financially, and get contracts made so we can hold them accountable when they don't do what they say they're going to. I know what I'm asking is a tall task, but it seems to be the best I can come up with.

I could listen to her all day. Discovered her a few years back on the Breakfast Club. Now, I follow her on social media and any interview she does. Love how she can go on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and Breakfast Club with the SAME energy! Take note, folks.

I was nervous she was another talking head. When she brought up the tape Biden told the "black leaders" he ain't doing ish. She got my attention. It's amazing how no major news network covered that. 8:15 As someone who's worked in government on the state and local level, I will say... this is facts. Understand that person who gets on the school board and builds name ID is more likely to get called up by "the powers that be" to be on city council in a few years, then possibly mayor, then state assembly member, state senator, U.S. rep, etc. That's the pathway. The person who holds a "small" role today could be very influential in a decade or two. People wanna run for the U.S. Senate off the rip without having built the network of supporters/donors that the person who started off as dog catcher has been building for YEARS. That's not impossible, but it's rare. You can't just wake up one day and get your name on the ballot.

I love her focus on local and state politics, which is why I encourage people to attend city council meetings, and be aware of their town issues.

The Jan. 6th hearings are absolutely important and should matter to all of us. We are more than capable of doing two things at once--remaining engaged in both state and fed politics. It would be a fool's errand to ignore either. For someone who claims to cover politics, it is incredibly irresponsible to downplay the significance of the events of Jan 6th or the hearings.

I agree about paying attention to local politics but there is still a difference between federal MAGA candidates and Democrats. Having Trump as president and MAGA congressional “leaders” is dangerous. It’s the difference between still having a democracy or fascism/dictator. January 6 is important because it’s literally the first time we didn’t have a peaceful transfer of power and we need to ensure that a mad man doesn’t get into office again. Also, we need to start voting out all the 70+ year olds and get some innovative thinkers in office. So please don’t give up on voting federally!
