honestly i liked the warpaints in this case, most of them feel within the boundaries in the game imo, unlike most of the previous crates the hats are (mostly) also within the personality in the game, but yeah

i'm honestly fine with the hats. this is the best halloween hat crate we've had in a few years. the warpaints are really hit or miss but this is our best elite grade yet. also, i genuinely like the green health and hell.

Jesus, no wonder why the red version of Health and Hell looked so strangely bad compared to the blue version...

My biggest issue with the fact that Valve is just adding slightly different versions of hats we already have is the fact that they take up memory the game doesn’t fucking have anymore. The game is slowly crumbling under the weight of all these garbage cosmetics made by talentless hacks on the Workshop and we don’t even realize it

One thing nobody mentions about the unusual effects and war paints is that the content bloat literally adds more files to your PC and optimization work is never done. The game takes up an insane amount of space and lazy color swap particle effects that no one wears just exacerbates it. I honestly don't think I've seriously traded for anything in a year and that was to buy a gift from a trade bot. Would not be surprised if the servers were dying from the bloat, though I'd like to see a source.

It’s funny that zesty didn’t mention that bonesaw was added completely unfinished. Missing textures in the spawn, the horseman was invisible and reds cart DID NOT WORK AT ALL lol. They did fix it but it took a few days

I actually quite like Health and Hell lol. I think the colors are okay and the pattern actually looks pretty nice to me, its much like Cream Corned in that you can get some really, REALLY good-looking skins with it. The main thing that sells this warpaint to me is the simplicity - its just grey and this deathly fog that resembles skulls in its shape, really feels like a toxic gas leak or smth. Probs one of my favourites from this case, hell even scream fortress in general, actually. The creator did a great job, especially for his first warpaint. Edit: Oh and the edited version that the author made looks EVEN BETTER, hope that it gets added.

Team fortress 2 is an all you can eat buffet for youtubers, except all the food has gone stale after being left out on its display and the only two cooks cant keep up with the thousands of customers. And if you try to leave and get some food at the place next door you either get ignored or stoned to death.

I got a health and hell green grenade launcher, and in my personal opinion, it's one of those war paints that actually looks pretty good with one of the lower qualities

Haven't watched the video yet, but I'll say before I do that while this isn't a replacement for a major update, I felt it was pretty good as far as Halloween updates go. Mostly solid War paints with a few weaker ones. A good selection of hats that are almost devoid of silly hats and what silly hats are there were made halloween cosmetics. Maps were also pretty good this year despite releasing with some glitches initially. Edit post watching: I mostly agreed with your opinions though I'm a bit more forgiving towards the cosmetics and a couple of the warpaints. I also don't think the Misha heavy is really "furbait", it's far too realistic to really appeal to furries imo. The dragon head one is absolutely scaly bait and I've seen scalies whining that it's halloween restricted. Which, honestly, I love watching those types cry over stupid shit, so it's a win in my book.

It's a shame so many see you as some negativity hater, because as you say: they don't understand what it means to be an adult living in the real world yet, and taking a placebo is much easier. I've recently added a lot more variety to my media diet (no life-changing but enough where I've broken out of my typical niches) and I gotta tell ya, I would revel in a chance to hear you be passionate about something you enjoy again Zesty. Whether it be movies, sports, or your favorite animal in the farm you drive past every day to work, your potential is much greater than TF2's. Creativity without ambition is just as flightless as an a bird without wings.

I didn't realize by how much my standards have fallen with Valve when I thought that this was a good update. Despite its flaws I stilled enjoyed it but Tf2 has just become one of those things where the more you think about its future the more concerning it becomes.

The one big thing I like about Health & Hell and it's green version is that you can put it on the Scotsman Skullcutter and the paint regions make it look really good- with the grey / black gradient being on all of the big parts, and the vibrant red / blue (or green) parts going on specific parts of the handle.

Honestly we are finding reasons to hate what hats are in the game at this point. "What? This looks like 1 other hat that exists is the game?!?! Well fuck this hat!". I understand if it's another beanie or witch hat but good lord dude. And people looking at Halloween restricted animal items and going "FURRY BAIT!!!" is stupid too. We never complained about the bird cosmetics. Why should we still care about the other animal ones that still kinda fit with the characters. For example, didn't heavy literally fight a bear once? Isn't he big and powerful? Aren't dragons known for breathing fire? Doesn't pyro have a flamethrower? Jesus man let's just be great full that we aren't getting holiday trash

The fact that 60% of TF2's marketplace is cluttered by War Paints is kinda funny to me because I feel like 80% of that would be nonexistent if wears weren't a thing [that's being generous, of course, because there's not a snowball's chance in Hell it's actually even odds between all five] Because almost fucking nobody wants anything below Factory New, _maybe_ Minimal Wear, outside of a very select few who want a Battle Scarred version of an edgy WP just to go all-out with a Sweat Lord loadout, or cases where War Paints have custom, actually interesting wears that, dare I say, actually justify the mechanic Like, if Valve just removed wears and turned every War Paint Factory New *[except* for those paints/skins that existed before the proper WP feature, y'know, Civic Duty, Top Shelf, High Roller, etc.], I don't think anybody would complain aside from those aforementioned select individuals and traders because "MUH MONEY"

If you think about it, most people who play TF2 are teenagers or kids that have been playing for maybe five years or less. If they are older, they have likely quit the game for a period of time and come back with nostalgia. Therefore, most people playing right now simply have a different perspective on what TF2 means to them. Not that this is bad, but I think it's why they get annoyed with the constant complaining from veterans. This world is new to them and grinding out 50 contracts in a month is fun and exciting. They don't notice the lack of lore, or polish, or artstyle. They don't remember what the game was like pre-skins or pre-matchmaking. They don't remember a time when trade and cheater bots weren't a part of life. They don't remember living on trade servers or going to the same quickplay server and having a community of players. So, they just do what we did when we were new. They want to read /r/tf2 (which is basically nothing but memes at this point), play shitty wacky gimmick maps, wear funny hat, and do funny taunt with their friends. They start off caring about the problems of the game, but their perspective on what is an issue is different. Even if they wanted to make content or change things, they learn over time that nothing they do will ultimately matter to the game because the devs just do not care about them. Non-SFM TF2 RU-vidrs have for the most part, fallen to the wayside and are relegated to either gameplay or clickbait meme videos because everything that can be said about TF2's content has already been said prior to and immediately after Jungle Inferno. Players like myself, that have been closely invested in the game in some form for over a decade, have a different perspective. It can be right or it can be wrong, but generally it results in nihilism or obnoxious criticism, which endlessly annoys the new guys. You can call it a boomer take, but I think it's true. Everyone, even the fresh installs can see some of the problems with the game, but through experience learn to accept them as unchangeable. There was a time when people built trading empires from scratch, new players could succeed in the market, and modders built entirely new games inside of TF2. Now, pretty much everything has been established and the game has been played. With no regulation and no official content, the result is a bunch of us fumbling around in the remaining buggy hellhole, with new players that we hope to God somehow find the same enjoyment we did. Those who came before me said the same thing around the time I started playing, but at least TF2 was at its peak back then so there was something to look forward to.

I believe that the only place that valve right now deserves praise is for their work at making Linux more viable instead of Windows. Valve's work on Linux is one of the major reasons things that prevents Microsoft from taking Windows in a more controlled & closed off direction. But I do wish they would fix the bot issues in this game as a bare minimum.

I absolutely love Crasher sooo much, it's probably my third favorite map in the game. It feels so good to play on, I love the bomb pumpkins, voice acting and how the giants aren't overpowered. God you better make a 24/7 server like you said. Also I love the train one, so fucking awesome

When initially looking at the cosmetic case I saw the top one named "Omnimann" and got so excited thinking it was Invincible and it burst my bubble

On maps, we also got Altitude and Cascade which are decent and not Christmas-themed aside from being cold.

As a furry, and a graphic designer, I wholeheartedly agree with your stance on furry design, if you're using more than 2 primary colors, and they're as saturated as possible, with no muted and/or dark colors to contrast them, you're just making an eyesore, not a character design

The Spy taunt goes pretty well for the game style, as its a briefcase that turns into a little man-portable helicopter, and it does so in a way that doesnt look too oversized for the container, but not too small to hold up the Spy.

there is one skin from the winter 2019 collection i like that being the sleighin' style warpaint. its colors are rather dull and when you get a well worn one it makes it look like an antique that you might find at a thriftstore or antique shop or something.

Sacred Slayer, is clearly a Doom reference in TF2. The Skull Sticker resembles (but is not exactly the same) as the Demon head found throughout classic Doom's maps. The Colours are very Doom centered, with the extra texture having demonic pentagrams and other small secrets hidden in it (Just like Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal's box art and monoliths) And perhaps most importantly; the Name Sacred Slayer, is a reference to the Doom Slayer. "I fear no Man, but that Skin... is the only thing they fear. Rip and tear, until it is done!"
