There's TED Talk footage of a Valve employee complaining that none of them want to touch TF2, CS2, and VAC because it's "treadmill work". This same employee is assigned to the development of Deadlock. Deadlock will face the same problems TF2 and CS2 face because no one there is willing to fix VAC.

Valve hasn't updated VAC in forever (Probably), mainly because they consider it treadmill work (never-ending updating) since they have to repeatedly add the newer versions of the cheats and such. Might be why stuff like this LOOKS like it works but if they actually updated the anti-cheat it probably would catch you cheating. Take everything here with a grain of salt since this is just my opinion.
