Not to mention Tomi-hopping, which allows you to jump, rev up, rev down, all before you land. This is only possible with tomi and allows you to be as fast as normal while your minigun is always ready to fire. I main tomialav heavy, and I use this technique all the time, it’s really useful

I choose stock over Tomi just because it is the one I have more practice with. Although both weapons are very similar I’m used to the higher DPS and the more prevalent weaknesses(mainly the noise while revved and the slower rev speed) that force me to play in a specific way to be the most effective. Also the Tomi’s more forgiving stats just make it less thoughtful to use, the main culprit being the silent rev. I never feel like I earned kills on enemies that never knew about your existence, a random crit would bring the same level of enjoyment. Maybe I’ll open up to it one day, but for now I’ll stick to pushing the payload screaming “BAHHUMBAG! GORG SMELL MEAT!”

That's fair, I just enjoy accuracy and silence on Heavy more, as he is already big target so anything that helps me stay alive bit longer is worth it.

Tomislav is a gun I find pretty flexible for a lot of fights, but damn if the DPS it does can be a detriment. There are so many fights I found myself in where the DPS of it was lacking, lacking so badly that I ended up dying just cause it didn't shred the pyro or scout I was facing off. Then you compare it to stock in the same scenario and despite the faster rev speed compared to stock,the DPS of stock made-up for it and could kill scouts and pyros with ease. Tomislav is one of those weapons where it's downsides rarely come to play, but when it does, you get stomped really badly. Hell, even the brass beast is stronger in certain scenarios. The damage of the BB can stack well against the Tomislav in a distance, BB just sucks at engaging fights, but if your opponent tries their luck, they die incredibly fast to the BB compared to both stock and the tomi

I just think Tomislav is more reliable at most moments. Sure, you shoot slower, but it's pretty minor compared to the upsides it offers. BB offers the highest damage but because what it offers is niche, it's not that reliable. That's why I personally think Tomislav is the best one, as it's good with engaging fights, ambushing and dealing with enemies at longer ranges that I can't really think of a reason why you would not use it.

@trash-bot8k8000 I used to use Tomi tons, but yea, man, I had a spelled aussie tomi and used stock, stock did better, jump reving really doesn't matter on Heavy, ANY good Heavy will be pre-reved no matter what he's going into, good reason most comp heavies use stock, especially high level comp heavies
@churrohola777
@churrohola777 4 месяца назад
@@trash-bot8k8000Also wanted to add, the slower rev of stock allows it to ambush just as good as tomi, that second of rev time for full ramp up is pretty much immediately fulfilled due to stock's rev, so a heavy ambushing with stock can still be silent by just jump reving at you and boom, full ramp up, dead guy

honestly i really do disagree with this video because well tomislav is not the best minigun for heavy for a lot of reasons. One of them being damage a lot of people forget that slower firing speed means less damage exactly -15% (since heavy has a built in 5% slower firing speed) and the accuracy get nullified by the less damage and the less bullets makes it take harder to kill anyone making it the second lowest dealing damage minigun (huo long heater being the third and natascha the first) theres a video that compares the damage between stock, tomi and brass and stock outclasses the tomi in every range except long range which heavy is pretty useless at it. Theres also a missconception with the silent rev which is that the first sound that the tomislav does when revving up and the firing sound is actually louder than stock.
@The_Troid
@The_Troid 4 месяца назад
Oh also the faster rev is not really useful for heavy unless you got caught off guard unrevv
@HamFromTeamFortress2

I definitely agree that tomislav is better not gonna lie, but i still prefer using stock because it just feels more POWERFUL (for some reason) It's probably because I'm more used to it. ...AAand because I don't have a strange tomislav :(
@trash-bot8k8000
@trash-bot8k8000 4 месяца назад
Understandable, it's easier to use as well with it's bigger spread. I know that feeling, I don't use any weapon that doesn't have a strange variant
@silverdededestruction2197
@silverdededestruction2197 4 месяца назад
Stock feels more powerful because it shreds enemies much faster at close range than the Tomislav This is pretty important for when you fight against scouts or pyros, Pyros would be able to keep the flame on you for much longer, and scouts literally running circles around you
@trash-bot8k8000
@trash-bot8k8000 4 месяца назад
@@silverdededestruction2197 True, but at least in most cases, I haven't really found much difference, and one weapon allows me to start dealing damage at longer ranges. I think it really comes down to what you prefer. I personally prefer to give up some DPS to be more silent and accurate, but if you want to guarantee that Pyro's or Scout's death, maybe having bigger spread is more beneficial.
@HamFromTeamFortress2

@@silverdededestruction2197 oh that makes sense, i commonly get up-close to enemy's as heavy, and i like to ambush people too, for some reason most of times people just doesn't hear the loud spinning from my minigun (casual moment), so i rarely get anyone noticing me while I'm revved up in a corner lol
