Ever noticed that in "Meet the Spy", when the RED Spy fights the Sniper, he pretty much does a sidestab, by having the Sniper charge at him, sidestep, turn around, and get Sniper's back.
@@cryptable_ yes it can't. but why would a pyro go near a spy while equipped with a flamethrower? I say, airblast the spy and pin him on the wall while puffing flames. even with dead ringer equipped you still can airblast the spy if you're quick enough. edit: grammar
Hitscan is clientside. Hit detection on all hitscan weapons is calculated by the client which is why high-ping snipers have a significant advantage when peeking, and is why hitscan classes are playable at high ping whereas projectile classes aren't. Heavies hitting you around corners ONLY happens while they can still see your hitbox. However, player rotation as backstabs are concerned is determined serverside. And since relative rotation of the players is what determines a backstab, this is what creates facestabs and failstabs. You can't see what the server sees which means preventing these situations is basically impossible except by simply stabbing people from further behind them or while they're unaware. Your point that face/failstabs don't exist is just silly in my opinion. They're not predictable or preventable, so they ARE basically random.
@@brenosl7 I watched this video simply to understand how the man with the spiffy mask could possibly instakill me while remaining in my FOV. I suppose I gotta buy a better connection
Medic: I AM MELTIIIIING!!!!!!(17 health) Scout: OH YEAH!(124 health) *takes full health pack right in front of medic* Medic: *dies* *LOUD KID IN VOICE CHAT INTENSIFIES* *ragequit* Scout: *laughs*
When I started as a spy main I wanted to know how to trickstab because of how handy it was. So I searched up tutorials and for years I improved over time. Though when I come back to most of them, I realize they were either too old to be useful or did not show how hard it was to use in a real situation, especially as a beginner and I didn't notice because I thought I was just really bad because I was new to the game. No matter what though, no matter how good or bad I am nowadays I always come back to this tutorial whenever I've lost my mojo or have taken too long of a break from the game. Because this is the only tutorial that simply explains trickstabs names, ways to perform them, and shows footage of how to pull them off in a real match, and which situation best to pull it off in and how to pull it off in that situation against a real player. Thanks Stary.
How to counter that kind of spies: 1. be pyro, heavy, soldier or demo. 2. be afraid of any kind of stairs. 3. look almost always up. 4. have nice aim. 5. go backwards (and crouch, if he has ambassador). 6. never use melee. EZ.
I mean, pressing the s key is just asking to get trickstabbed, so no to the go backwards. Always strafe and stay out of melee range... unless you're an overly aggressive medic like me who ubersaws literally everything.
And they are extremely fast, that's what i noticed from their gameplay from mine, may i can do stuff, but because i dont do it at the speed of light everyone gets to remember to not get trickstabed or shot the spy
In half the time of the original Paladin tutorial and with much better information, guidance, and examples, you’ve successfully made a general trickstab tutorial. Thank you, as I now don’t feel the need to. 8) But I will make my own commentaries sometime anyways.
Moo? True but thats what separates this video from Mr Paladin’s. This is more general knowledge that highlights certain things, mr p’s breaks down a few types of stabs into more detail.
I guess this is motivation to make it. Great video stary. glad you mentioned the flip stab part with the teleporter. I only figured that out 3 years ago.
Why is everyone shitting at Mr. P? He's such a sweet, chill dude. I mean, sure, he ain't no war machine, but hey so what? He teached me a bunch and his videos are pretty entertaining and laid back. That being said, this was a very educating vid and I might watch it more often to get better at the tricks.
Yeah, fell for the Dropstab the other day. Chased a spy up some stairs waiting for that le epic mlg stair jump stab, but instead he just walked off. I followed and was going to scorch him and he got me in midair; very well played.
Louis the II King of Hungary and Bohemia him, as he was obviously there and remembers the fun he had. But I'm guessing you don't know much about fun do you?
Now everytime someone accuses me of facestabs I just reply with "It's doesn't matter what you or I see. It's what the server sees. And it sees a back."
2022ians watching the only tf2 tutorials available, here's a quick tip. Don't think of situations as ok it's time to do (trickstab type) think of it as what maneuvers can I combine using these umbrella terms to reach my opponents back as fast as possible.
I domt get how that Asian girl playing scout thought that was lag at all. Even if she doesn’t know about the hit boxes, the spy was completely out of her vision... that’s a backstab.
I like this type of content way more than the "anime thumbnail, compilation of destroying people with the baguette class." videos. Keep it up
I honestly didn't know wtf a backstab was, not only does this tutorial teach you how to backstab it also teaches you what to look out for when someone is trying to backstab you. Very helpful tyvm
Chilly Willy its not as easy as people said. Its hard using interp since you must use your instinct because you were playing behind others and cl interp is just a joke that stary made.
Omg the fail stabs happens so many times it pisses me off, when i'm about to backstab the last one single frame fails and the entire animation ends and no backstab, like wtf.
Great video. If you want a more in-depth explanation of some of these stabs, I cannot recommend CulRulDud's circlestrafing series enough. As an example, CulRulDud explains that 4:25 and 4:26 are exactly the same stab: they're both level 1 stabs, where the opponent strafes towards you. You get those players by, as StaryKrow said, strafing sideways and eventually stabbing. 2:41 is a level 4 stab, where the opponent strafes around you. You get those players by moving forwards and backwards.
I feel like both of them were in the wrong because it was a very petty thing to do to Mr. Paladin, but at the same time apparently Mr. P took some parts out of the livestream he claimed was unedited. I just hope that both youtubers collaborate to calm down eachothers fanbases.
