🔥 Start your Wanted: Dead adventure with 50% off - act NOW: bit.ly/WD-WeezyTF2 Thank you all for making 2023 such an incredible year for me, can't wait to see where we go next year. Happy New Years! Edit: A couple of you have been asking why I sound a bit lethargic here. After the Basil vid dropped combined with several days of poor sleep, my voice was completely shot, but I didn't want to risk not being able to release the video in time for the year's end by waiting until I got better to record the audio. Was a good call, as I'm still not fully recovered and got even sicker during the latter half of the month, but I'm slowly creeping out of it so hopefully we'll hopefully be more energetic come January. Thanks gentz, cya then.
If Anybody needs to know how to activate the Energy Shield for MvM, Press the Middle Mouse button or press the Scroll Wheel in, to activate Shield. When i say click the mouse wheel in, dont scroll, push down!
The thing about heavy is people often forget that simple isn’t necessarily boring. Sometimes “I shoot my big gun at people” is more then enough for a fun time
Heavy is fun imo, when ur not in a situation where u die constantly (like I took 12 Crockets to the face and felt like a god) usually when ur next to a dispenser or in the (hopefully) extended range, you can just sit there peacefully holding down m1 nice and calm, relaxing
I get where you’re coming from with heavy, it is so satisfying to upgrade firing speed and penetration and just disintegrate crowds of small robots That and you’d be surprised how often you can be a clutch when the frontline breaks down
This man still be out here making pretty good content. Pizzabot and Tacobot have unwittingly granted this guy lots more videos, and it is my belief that without them attempting to ruin his time in the game, he would've run out if video ideas already.
14:51 Medic is honestly my favorite class to play in pvp. It's such rewarding gameplay and I can just go into a trance, even if my team is treating me like shit. But tbh maybe there's something wrong with me. He's also my favorite character, so there's that. I try to also play other classes but I keep going back to Medic. I was a Pyro main from 2008-2021 before a switch flipped in my brain and I went to Medic and never looked back. I got so dedicated that I even bought myself an unusual, a strange kritz (it was over $200 USD but it was a moment of weakness because my cat was dying, so I dedicated it to her memory (RIP Juliet)), and of course the burly beast.
I'm a Medic main too. It's fun to watch teammates healthbars fill up to full, and it feels nice knowing I' the dude everyone wants to be around because he get heals. Sure, I've had a few occasions in casual where everyone was spamming the E key and I kept switching heal targets but comboing crossbow arrows with heals and sometimes the amputator if things got really bad it's really rewarding. Also I chose him in the beginning because Medic doesn't need to aim and he still does his job well: healing. I can contribute to the fight even when I'm not top good at aiming because medibeams aim themselves.
I play Medic in pvp as well, firstly I can't aim for shit except for the crossbow so letting my teammates do the killing for me is better for everyone. But there's a certain sense of power watching your enemies flee in absolute terror from a glowing Soldier or Pyro that you enabled and set loose on them.
Being a Medic Is anywhere from dying Immediately, to keeping everyone alive as they just mow down the opposition, especially during Uber, I honestly don't know why I main Medic either, but after finally embracing him as my main, I go the support class If It's available In whatever game I play (like the unfortunate times I play League)
@@ConfusedUniverse-wj9fw no fucking way, beggars soldier is just way too slow to giant killing compared to spy which just needs 5 swings with max armor pen assuming he lands all stabs Its very easy to click on heads of predictable robots
@@ConfusedUniverse-wj9fw (my og comment got deleted by snowflake youtube) No way, beggars soldier is just way too slow on killing giants compared to spy which just needs 5 swings at most at max AP assuming he lands all stabs, even if spy doesn't finish it, it leaves the giants health with a major chunk of health lost Its easy to click heads on robots
Something people forget about the Demoman's sticky launchers is that when the cap for the amount of placed stickies is reached, placing any further stickies will detonate the oldest placed sticky. Your points about the Scottish Resistance being a strong yet labouring weapon are still factual, but like you can guess by this point, you only need to set up your 14 stickies along a dropdown/pathway, and after that, you actually *_can_* spam with it. It adds just a little bit more to the skill ceiling and I find it supremely rewarding when I'm able to futuresight how my 15th sticky is going to detonate when I need it to for an oncoming wave of bots.
I just want to point out how clever Weezy's wordplay always is, I've been rewatching a bunch of the older vids lately, and it's one of the things that has been consistent throughout every video he's ever made "Puff and Sting got snuffed and flinged" "You'd be better off shooting down an attack helicopter with pebbles" "Requires three players worth of uncontested degenerousy" Some of them are a bit on the basic side, but I always get that thought "that was funny" when I watch one of these Edit: I'm gonna keep adding more as time goes by "You griefed my lobby, eat a bag of dicks"
Speaking as a high-tour Heavy main, I just love the dopamine rush you get from mowing down wave after wave of robots, not to mention practically deleting giants with crit canteens
Also heavy's mvm line are just great. His "not so mighty now, tiny giant'" is so great to hear. I first thought heavy said "no used fighting now, tiny giant"
Nothing gets me going like mid-game Heavy, when the front line breaks down and you’re the last survivor tearing through the horde, just barely surviving with health-on-kill and good tracking
Legit got into MVM recently, just glad I haven’t run into toxic players, and glad to have another mvm video to watch before working up the courage to continue chipping away at my first tour
Yeah maybe I'm in west coast servers, but so far I haven't seen any toxic players. Granted I did some stubborn people on the community servers, but nothing too toxic.
@@starmaker75 High tour toxicity is the resoult of of ignorance. If you are willing to listen, avoid contraversial classes and loadouts while you are still low tour, then you will not meet roxic high tours if at all. Peoples who meet toxic ones all the time are just the difficult ones you don't want to play with.
@@imjustapotatoleavemealone Nice victim blaming. High tours (like everyone else) are free to queue in a group if they don't want to deal with people who might not worship the ground they walk on. If you're queuing into a public lobby, you're going to get randoms, and they might not want to listen to you telling them how you think they should be playing the game. High tour toxicity is the result of people thinking their enjoyment matters more than someone else's simply because they've played the game more.
@@WalnutBun "Victim blaming" and here you are, telling me that those peoples don't value someone else's fun, only theirs... When all of you have to do is not use extremely controversial, unbalanced items, some of which are disabled in community servers for the same reason, and yet you do that.. like in real life starting to talk about politics and religion at a family dinner... If you go in front of a church and start burning crosses, you know what you are doing, knew al the consequences, and knew what will happen, yet did it anyways. If you want to burn crosses, burn it in a group that will accept it, if you wanna talk about politics, religion, etc, do it in a group where they are okay with that. If you wanna play controversial loadouts, classes, do it with peoples that are okay with that. And even they, most of the supposed "toxic ones" are totally okay with you playing controversial classes, if you have the knowledge to back it up, and our only counter for it is your tour count. If you don't do that by sheer ignorance, its your fault. They are also the victims of your ignorance and difficult behavior. And sure, if anything happens we still side with the peoples being difficult, since no one deserves that for anything, and its sure the high tour's fault. But just after you burned crosses you decide go to the internet and brag about how bad those high tours were... you are not the victim, if anything, you are the bully. Edit: And sure, we should blame the abuser not the victim, but when you are provocative for the sake of being provocative.... In a research (DOI: 10.1016/0047-2352(84)90052-7) they concluded, based on judgements that "The results of this study suggest that as victim provocation increases, the level of legal responsibility given to the victim also increases. More importantly, as victim provocation increases, the legal responsibility and the years of imprisonment given the offender decrease.", and what would be more objective than judgements. Which doesn't means the victim is wrong, or what the high tours do are less wrong, but it does means that you are responsible, and as you get more provocative, you also get more responsible, and the victim less. You suggest that the victim isn't responsible at all, which is not true, provocation is still provocation, you know what you are doing but you are trying to dodge your responsibility for it...
I'm a scout main with over 100 tours, but once you know how to play the class I started to find it boring how much easy it is... so I go spy doing the scout's job, and damn I love this class in mvm, so yeah it's harder and more risky, but I think this is where I get the fun. And also I feel more satisfied to get A+ every waves with spy with good dmg and show the people how this class can be good too
I have 1 MVM ticket in my tf2 backpack, and a total of 0 seconds in MVM, but dawg I just enjoy watching your content on the mode. You do a good job explaining everything so I understand what you mean when it comes to the nuances of the game even when I haven't tried it myself, and that's always the number 1 thing I look for in content about something I don't know. Happy new year to you dawg
Might be nice to see some "advanced" upgrade/positioning guides, I find a lot of them don't cover things like sentryblocking spots, godspots (recently found the ones on Mannhattan and Rottenburg and have been loving them), and similar concepts you hear flung about. Great video as always, Weezy.
damage scout truly is underrated. some of my fondest memories of TF2 was running two cities with a maxed out scattergun and FAN, its just meatshot heaven in every possible way
"You could strap me to any of them for a whole year and I don't think that'd keep me from playing." I'm not sure about that one considering what you had to say about playing spy in MVM only 2 videos ago.
Actually, with soldier, if you switch to your secondary with the beggars, your ammo will refill in the background. It just doesn't refill when active for some reason
Have you read the description for the beggar's bazooka? It pretty clearly states that yes, dispensers give ammo if you hold your secondary or melee out.
Great video. I love how you put most of your biases away and focus on the main points of fun for each class. The only one I might disagree with is Sniper, because with the right skill and experience, he's a literal god. (I might be biased as a sniper main) But anyways, super vid!
i think the problem weezy has with sniper is just that, that sniper is so easy if you can hit heads consistently, and there's not much variety to the class.
@@coreypark3244I don’t think that’s entirely true. I think there can be a lot of variation in sniper MvM gameplay if you don’t take the most basic risk/reward strategy. I think if you try and do new things, use different loadouts, new gameplay strategies, Sniper is not only rewarding but very fun indeed.
I'm a Medic main, so the thrill of last moment shields and ubersaw runs are a high I chase. Soldier is an easy second for me. Though I'm a batallion's junkie who loves to bomb in with health on kill. Great video as ever. Can't wait to see more in 2024!
I wish Dragon's Fury pyro was talked about more. It might not have the dps of the phlog but it's still viable and fun to use and with the slower airblast you can still hit some nutty reflects. But Lord Gaben help you if you're up against other airblasting pyros as the ability to shoot is ripped away and turned against you
For Pyro’s fun factor, it also doesn’t help that reflected projectiles don’t get added to your damage total. So that group of crit rockets you reflected back doesn’t end up on the scoreboard and make you feel weaker than you actually are. Valve. Come on. Surely it isn’t _that_ difficult of a tweak.
Engies my favourite class, and i'll add my 2 cents here: Engie suffers from a couple design + coding flaws, and one of them is the upgrade canteens. Upgrade canteens turn engie into such a snoozefest that ive forbidden myself from using them and engie just became so much more fun after that. One of the biggest hype momments in Engineering is being barely able to hold onto a position, and MvM has that in spades. Running out of metal, barely keeping your buildings alive, constantly moving them to either forward or back or just to reset the wrangler shield is so much fun. Uber canteens help a ton as well, since it gives your sentry a shield too. Theres a ton of little optimizations you can do based on how your teams moving, and how much damage your taking. When you've maxed wrench swing speed and metal capacity, and still are running out of metal thats when you know youve made it. You can't have those momments if you just know you can press your canteen button to get a level 3 back up in less than a second.
I agree somewhat, but I'm usually battle engi MvM or not so I'm either A: Helping the Pyro with tanks B: In the frontlines with everyone else So if my sentry is getting fucked up I more than usually don't have time to get there, so the canteens really help when my sentry is getting low on health, and I can still go on Krit rampages cuz im low tour and I get nice players still, so the Medic is ok with charging me with Krits
I completely understand why you would find Heavy fun, as pretty much all of those things are why I enjoy using the Heavy Bowgun in Monster Hunter. It’s just satisfying to dodge massive amounts of damage by simply walking to the left or right, and instead of managing upgrade paths, you have to instead manage your different ammo types, their ranges, how your weapon’s stats affect each ammo type, it’s just really satisfying to see everything come together during a hunt
You never talked about sniper's ability to outdamage most other classes versus tanks. In fact, he does so in the least amount of money invested compared to any other class. I'm also surprised you didn't mention the dragon's fury, since it's basically a discount always-crits phlog with its extremely high DPS right out of the gate. Not to mention it has a terrible airblast but at least has one for the cases of a big robot being on the hole, or near a pit.
I think the problem you have with Demo is that you don't use pipes enough. Pipes are your instant damage option, your bomb jump, and your secondary area denial all wrapped in one. And, the great thing about them is that you don't need to drop a single credit into them. Just puke out your SR piles, and press 1 and lob nades at bots.
Ok so i wanna just say something that happened in mvm So i was playing soldier and ran out of rockets and had gunboats, but i saw that the main threats were fists of steel heavies, so i went on a tear with the frying pan, even taking out minigun and gru heavies. It wasn't even upgraded
I rocked 222,022 damage in my most recent Heavy game, with the Stock minigun. It's some of the most fun I've had with MvM in a while. It's the perfect combination of having to think about your gameplay pre-wave whilst also being able to autopilot once the wave actually starts, and I'm here for it.
Hey Weezy, random primarily gear grinder player, your content brought a lot of extremely useful information for me starting out, and overtime I've done a lot of "extra" guide reading and wave learning, so thanks for investing me in getting good at MVM. I'm sure you're in no shortage of video ideas, but I was hoping somewhere down the line you could cover two topics that are difficult to get information on: Aggro mechanics/exploitation and how to improve from a good player to your level of MVM play beyond just "get a higher tour count" Aggro is kinda difficult to get a grasp on due to robot levels, Aggro priority, how Aggro is affected by damage output, when not to draw aggro (e.g. spy waves/unnecessary stalling/grouping) and of course the "big rocks" of other maps. The other one would be dependant on how you see levels of skill in MVM, and more so about how you went from being a good player to a great player in terms of improvement. Would be good to get some perspective from an 'actual' high tour, but if not love the content and can't wait for more!
I feel like this could be done for an upgrade on the sappers. Sapped robots explode when they die… kinda like gas passer, and it just makes sense, he sabotages the bots and rigs them to explode and if they die, they go kaboom.
Re: the medic: "It's the class everyone loves, but no one wants to play". Got to say, as a Medic main, it is so satisfying denying a push or a crit rocket with a perfectly timed über *edit* within PvP matches. I have not played him in MvM in a while.
8:36 I'm immediately reminded of a 2 year old video where some super high tour MVM player starts raging and calling someone slurs for playing Pyro, attempts to kick him, then kills the server with a join/leave bot when nobody wants to kick the guy Yeah, MvM has a bit of an optics problem
ever since i learned about the little flick sniper players do when getting headshots, i've been able to spot it in almost every person who uses a sniper, even outside of tf2 i thought it was just me being weird but nope! it's universal human instinct apparently
If anyone wants to try to get into spy just make sure you got at least 3k so you get the damage plus defense so you can actually enjoy it (wave 2 or 3) depending on map Also L'eranger
You should consider checking out the Dragon's Fury if you haven't already. It does hinder crowd DPS a bit, but it kills giants faster, is still decent against tanks, and I find it generally more fun to use than any other flamethrower, both in and out of MvM.
Interesting list. My personal favorite is Engineer, though I mostly play community-made maps and missions. I've played enough that I've found myself starting to optimize my upgrades kinda like you mentioned for Scout and Medic. For one thing, I've found that you generally don't need to max out the Max Metal upgrade. Doing so doesn't hurt you, but you can survive most situations with 500 max metal, leaving you with 200 credits to put elsewhere. I've also been training myself to try and go without Building Upgrade Canteens as much as possible, usually saving them for emergency situations only. Some missions even ban the Power Up Canteen outright!
Honestly, Heavy is the most fun class in MVM for me, even though Medic is my main in PVP "Move and shoot" might be a bit simple, but it's just so damn fun for me. Not much beats the thrill of standing in front of a wave of robots, all of them shooting at me and none of them able to scratch me while I mow them down just as easily as the last 3 waves And standing right in front of a Giant, pumping out hundreds of bullets straight into its gut and holding it back from even inching forward is just exhilarating on a whole different level
Kinda surprised to see Sniper get this low. Despite I play Two Cities 99% of the time, he's my go-to class when the team needs a carry. Maybe it's because as an Asian getting >50 ping MVM server is near impossible, you understand the pain of playing with 300+ ping projectiles right?
I remember playing mvm a few days ago as pyro with a shotgun and the party was so surprised seeing a pyro with a stock flamethrower with the panic attack..... i just said to them, got board with the flar gun
To any Heavy detractors, yes his gameplay is simple, but you need to get in the mindset. You are a massive, death dealing Russian laughing maniacally in the face of a robot shooting a rocket at you from point blank range, AND YOU DON’T CARE. You shred the robot to itty bitty metal pieces and then gain health from its corpse like you’re playing MGR Revengeance while blasting Russian choir music to rally the team. Then you end the game and see your damage numbers in the six digits, get all the dopamine and then Kazotsky Kick until the server boots you out.
Cheering for Scout here. It’s only ever happened ONCE on a game of Manhattan, but playing Scout I not only got all of the money and nabbed 2 people the achievement for it, I also got the highest damage. It was WILD.
All i am going to say is that scorch shot with full reload speed and firerate upgrades is super fun, hell you dont even need your primary except for the tank... And you need dispenser or ammo canteens...
sorry to break it to you but it's unfun for everybody else in the team unless you tell them you're using it because the knockback from the scorch shot throws everybody else off...
Chances are your teammates hate it because bouncing enemies are harder to predict, aim at, and I. Particular classes like Sniper and Spy get absolutely frocked by it. Demo's sticky traps aren't as effective, Soldier and Heavy have harder time aiming and less predictable robots are always harder to deal than normal predictable bots because they jump around so much. Maybe take the flare gun instead.
