@@damiencrossley7497 the joke is that i'm referencing this forum post where a guy with an ak is asking about how to mount a red dot sight onto it, one of the replies goes "nyet, rifle is fine" and goes on a rant about how you shouldn't stick shit on all sides of rifle
i once got added by 2 bots who didnt even fully set up their account and were named bot 81 and bot 82 or something like that was funny, i later blocked them
Thx for making this video bro, we need more people like you to inform newer or younger members of the community about these scammers and how to avoid them. Subscribed and keep up the good work bro!
I fell for the tournament scam, except they took over the account of one of my friends that I had for years. Keep safe! Note: this was on cs2 and this person actually participated in tournaments in the past
I'm actually crying rn because i fell for the first ever scam in the list which is "Hijack links". I glad i had my account back through steam support easily. But since the steam quit returning scam items or money from scammers for the victim, i lost my strange weapons, taunts, 1 unusual cozy catchers and a 15$ gift card. So after calculating while crying, i've freaking lost 58$ to an unsuspicious scammer lol
@@eksd5363 Oh and about those gambaling sites you talked about , somoene tried to make me promote a gambaling tf2 site a few months ago but i rejected the offer because i am a teenager not an adult , and i don't want to get in trouble for promoting gambaling at the wrong age .
I’m pretty sure everyone is getting spammed with people wanting to add them that you don’t even know. And if you add them and they say “could you promote this website” just immediately block them and communication. I’ve heard funny stories where they scammed the scammers when the scammers gave people keys and they kept the keys.
a new one Ive seen is people claiming to be cs2/tf2 skin designers and saying "hey can you review my skin :-)" and its a fake link to steam workshop with a Mirror of the creators item, renamed usually. they didnt even say it was a different creator, just renamed the skin
I just unboxed an item worth 4000 keys I've been trading unusuals for 10 years and I've never seen so many friend requests and dms pour in, I've been getting one every few minutes It's a bit nerve wracking having such a valuable item to be honest.
i remember many years ago i was playing on a deathrun server and one guy sold me a "killstreak sodapopper" for a regular hat that turned to be a normal soda popper but renamed with a name tag. one hat wasn't much but back then i had maybe like non-achievment 3-4 hats lmao
Eh I wouldn't say stupid, honestly it's good to get scammed at least once because it makes you way more aware and careful. Usually you don't get scammed again after the first. So i'd say it's a necessary evil in a way
Some lad tried to scam me with wrong accusation method add the staff discord etc. Man i played like him a damn fiddle before i give him middlefinger. Note:Do not use mobile guard it makes more safer than making instant trade it holds 15 days you can make check ups
Trading tips is cool and all, but i think we need the crafting tips video /half-joking But on a serius note, really liked your video, more people should watch it!
I almost fell for what I think was a crate shark. He was just a random asking for a trade. At first glance it looks fine (and maybe even generous), I choose a class, I get a few hats in exchange for a bunch of extra crates, but I took some time to check the value before confirming. He started getting impatient, and when I confronted him about the mismatch he did compensate it. But at that point something seemed off, I decided I was done dealing with him and I ended up canceling it and blocking him.
I remember the first and only time I encountered a crate shark. When I was hit up by someone wanting to buy my cases, I went along with it. After all, I know that people are willing to go to insane lengths to get their unbox fix. A couple of hats for a dozen cheap cases sounded like a fair deal, I thought. And then the shark immediately reveals their hand by saying something along the lines of "I don't want those cheap summer/winter cases, I want your war paint cases." Fastest block of my life. I remember buying a Conga taunt along with a few other items through trading in Pyroland and Warbird cases when those were still new. No way was I going to hand those over for the TF2 equivalent of a 200 ticket Chuck-e-Cheese prize. I couldn't imagine what the "compensation" would be. The cases I presume most sharks go for are worth hundreds of hats each. At that point, giving "compensation" is practically admitting to sharking.
@@gamerkyle2402 The compensation was several keys being added to the trade, the amount that I called them out on. I had taken some time checking the values on backpack tf to make sure there wasn't any huge mismatch. I did in fact find some crates, worth at least several keys in total, enough to raise a red flag. So I called them out on that, they did add the number of keys that I mentioned, but I just wasn't comfortable anymore and ended up declining. Unfortunately I can't find the chat or the trade offer, so I don't know the exact details anymore.
considering i never spend money on it (although i have in the past but not much) im guessing that'll mean it will take me ages to work my way up in the community, basically through item drops also, so i really want the poker night achievments (so i can be demopan) but i don't have anyone to share library with, my friend doesn't have it, idk anyone else, what do i do?
It is possible to buy steam codes online on third party sites to redeem the game on steam but just be careful if you do that, they are third party sites after all.
There's honestly no perfectly safe way to cash out, you can always msg backpack buyers and there's some sites that were made for it like cashout.tf I believe is the site and marketplace but you'd have to be a registered seller on marketplace. Whatever you choose just be safe and mindful of scams
ooh, another one that's happened to me a bunch is someone adds me claims they recently made a gambling site, and if i advertise it, they will rig it so that i win then they make you log into that website to deposit items i blocked him at this point but i assume this is where they usually steal your account or those items you deposited
hey man i have a question, so basically there is this person messaging me saying that he was in the tf2 event called particle mayhem and Sayed sent me a link to the cite but he also showed me that he would give me a whole bunch of keys for only two.
Probably a scam, if you need to click a link. You can usually copy and paste the link into a incognito tab. Usually safer, however you still need to be very careful but to me that sounds sus af ngl
I almost fell for the accidentally reported scam, after i found out that it was a scam i trolled the scammer for like 2 hours then he blocked me after that
@@eksd5363 funny thing, my cheap festivized rocket launcher that costs 1.45 ref is the reason why hes trying to get into my account 😭😭 and im a f2p aslo
@@eksd5363 funny thing, my cheap festivized rocket launcher that costs 1.45 ref is the reason why hes trying to get into my account, and im a f2p also 😭😭
Im not sure if this scam is possible but once a random player added me and wanted me to trade taunts and some other stuff for a strange rocket launcher with some really good and worthy strange parts but i was scared that right before we do the trade he will use the item that switches the strange parts ( i forgot the name ) and just give me a strange rocket launcher for a lot. Im not sure if this is possible but I didn't do the trade because of it.
Usually it's better to be scammed at least once, you learn a lot. If you got scammed then you aren't really dumb just misinformed. You definitely learn a lot from it tho and that sort of makes it worth it in a weird way. Stay safe ❤️
@@eksd5363 Indeed The scammer (who used to impersonate a high trader) still tries to scam me using thousands of alt accounts. But yes, since I've been scammed, his stats to scam me seem ridiculous to me.
I'm surprised that this is still a relevant topic these days, not because trading has gotten safer (we're living in the age of grifting afterall), but because the market seems so messed up by now. I stopped playing like... 9 years ago, when keys were about 8 refined. Couldn't imagine doing some rags to riches approach nowadays.
It's actually not that hard, trading bots make it extremely easy I'm ngl. I'm working on a trading up series rn as well (focusing on a more comedy side since trading is boring)
I do have trading guide videos if you need help with a bit more detail, but I would recommend not trading in game as much and mostly using websites like backpack. It is possible to trade in game still but it's usually a waste of time, can get lucky sometimes tho. There's a reason people still try to trade in game, it just never worked out for me. Thank you for the support ❤️
@@eksd5363 i cant not feel stupid about it though Its actually the second time ive got scammed Once with snapchat This year too Making me feel even more stupid
@@Speedster428 I have the same experience bro, just don't blame yourself too hard.No matter how sad you are, those lairs won't take any affect, just remember be careful next time.
The other day I a scammer added me and asked abt playing competitive then I hit him with the sawcon Dee’s nuts joke I’ve never been blocked and unadded so quick
someone just tried to scam meny saying subscribe to my workshop item but it wasnt on a steam community link but a link to a weird website i woulve fallen for it if ublock origin didnt warn me stay safe yall.
Dude, i just realize i'm a Shark, but i don't want to ruin some ppl. I just buy items for low prices and sell them for a lot more. Like 11 keys, now i feel bad
This is called basic economy and not sharking. You are not taking advantage of someone, you are just trading with one man, and then with another for more. In this situation everybody wins, not only one person
Truthfully there's a lot of people that do that kinda shit and really it's not that big of a deal, by the end of the day I'd say if both people were happy with the trade that's what matters. 👍
