I think it'd work like how the conga would where people automatically sync up It goes on forever until the host quits it and then it plays the outro. This is a cool cosmetic idea!
It feel empty to know that Mercenary Melody was not contributed to the game. But at least this taunt looks super good and can make it to the next tf2 update!
this should be like a group taunt where an Icon would appear above their head, and when the taunt started, the taunt will be automatically synced to the song. imagine a whole casual round where everyone from the blu and red team playing the tf2 theme
Scout using his bucket of chicken to play, then doing a spin and a hip thrust to throw the bucked away is so freaking cool and adorable! He's got speed and rhythm!
Engineer doing the bassline is arguably the best because that bassline is present in almost every piece of the game's soundtrack. Also pyro's cool. Obnoxiously spamming the triangle in the spawn room at the start of the round could get some reactions for sure.
what the frick are you talking about my lad, pyro in my opinion should of have a guitar since in one of its melee taunts it pretends to play a guitar, and there is a taunt where pyro plays a piano.
Am I the only one who would have found it hilarious if Pyro and Heavy switched instruments? “How the hell is pyro playing through the gas mask?!” “Why is the biggest guy playing the triangle?!”

It was submitted on time. It just wasnt in a good place when i submitted it. I completely redid medic from scratch so it took a bit for me to finish. But i did meet the deadline
You should make the taunt go on for as long as they choose and make the audio loop, then make it like the dance taunts where you can join in, and when you join in it automatically syncs up!
Now this is something that NEEDS to be put in the game. A group orchestra that actually has their own unique pieces that when played together creates harmony. Such a brilliant idea for a taunt, hopefully people can join in like the conga.
they aren’t going to add the spy one, the engineer one, the scout one, the sniper one, and the soldier one because they are already in the game in some way
I absolutely adore this! The only critique I have is that Medic is seen playing the accordion in another taunt, so I feel like it would be more fitting to have him play it again here. I definitely think this should be in the game!
Yes, though for the purposes of instrumentation someone needed the bass drum, and Medic (the backbone of a successful team) fills the role that the bass drum does in a band, which provides a tempo. But, I would switch the triangle for an electric guitar on Pyro, I feel like the triangle is less needed.
i actually really like the idea of medic playing a (large, heavy) drum here and having *spy* be the one to play the accordion. it has some... interesting implications. especially when you remember that whole thing about medic keeping spy's severed head in the refrigerator.
The fact that spy plays in a minor key and the adds so much to his "im the spy" feel. Also love that Sniper and Engie play their original instruments Excellent work and I can't wait to see it in game
@0bsidianPrime I'm actually amazed at the content, the taunts are mostly good (fuck you road rager), the cosmetics are amazing (demo could have been better) large map pool that is pretty good (why Venice and not Extinction????) and even VSH once it's patched

After vehicle taunts, instrument taunts are the most tired things in my opinion. However, this is such a unique idea and I can already imagine that this could create so many memorable tf2 moments to players such as myself. I totally approve of this.
i thought that this comment was about to be like a "oh this taunt is sooo unoriginal blah blah make original content blah blah" but i guess you got me the first half
i love this taunt for many reasons 1 it'd be extremely funny seeing people trying to coordinate the taunt 2 the moves they make while they play their instrument shows perfectly their personality 3 the instrument they're playing shows perfectly their personalities 4 it's a really expressive taunt, differently than some of the most recent taunts like the spy-copter ( i forgor what it's called 💀 )
Gonna be honest, the concept/idea is pretty good but it can definitely use some work (possibly a lot of work). 1. Class orientated instruments, ESPECIALLY for the classes that already have their own instrument taunt. 2. Animation quality, its very robotic/clonky, smooth em out. 3. The sync issue, instead of just playing a small section for a short amount of time, have them play a longer section and have it loop so it'll be easier to sync with. (Or you could just have them join in at the part you're playing, like how the conga/kazotsky kick/mannrobics works)
Freakin amazing! It's not just a taunt that gives each mercenary there own instrument fit for them, but together they all make the iconic tune! Great job and hopefully people vote for this in the workshop.

This is a Perfect Taunt and it needs to be added pretty nice work and you added the personality of the mercs with the instruments they are playing which is really nice! Good Work Partner!!
I like to imagine that if you synch it all up as a group, and play the whole song as a band, it acts as a kill binding taunt like Heavy's finger gun. If your off time with the other band mates it doesn't work.
Hey I dunno if you realized this, but medic playing a drum of almost any sort actually makes a lot of sense. I dunno if it does from a lore standpoint, but from a musical standpoint it makes absolute sense. He's not somuch the main attraction except for the odd server/concert here and there, but supplies an amazing sense of beat for the crowd and tempo for the people onstage. Of course while some singlehandedly make the entire team better, there are also some that tend to be freeloading off the rest of their teams skill (drummer slander).
@@emirwattabor6991 -- I was not aware that he was canonically in the military. May I ask for a source on that particular bit of info? I am not so egotistical as to think my knowledge wholly infallible, but I am quite confident in my knowledge of Medic lore, and that there is nothing military in it at all.

This should be a taunt like the Kazotsky Kick or Conga where people who don't have the taunt can press the taunt key to join in and you could move around while doing it.
Damn, this was really good, I think the accordion would look better on the doctor because he already has the accordion taunt, but I already added it to my workshop, congratulations on the work
This should probably be a joinable taunt that doesnt end unless you make it end, like the kazotsky kick, so that it would be easier to get all 9 classes to play at the same time.
Also I suggest making BLU team play in either a high or lower octave wave, it would make having the whole of BLU and Red playing at the same time more fuller.
It would be higher since music represting blue team is more energetic andstlish wich is seen in tge vitory music during cometive we blues sounds almost like surfer music
the movement could be polished a bit more but honestly this is super good. i also like the detail that demoman harmonizes because without it i think it would sound bland since it would just be octaves. good work.
I really like the concept, and the instruments you have right now truly fit the personality's of the merceneries. I still feel like everyone should get a melodic instrument. Some ideas: medic and the violin, pyro and the base guitare (these two are based on their taunts) and the scout and the lead rock guitare (this is based on a community created cosmetic, which does fit his personality)
Impressive. I adore each Mercs choice of instrument to brandish. Medic's is unexpectantly perfect and I love his movements. I do believe that a few mercs could use a tune up on their animations. A few notable ones are Scout, Demo and Engie. They kind of lack an extra oomp of their personality on front along with Scout and Engie's animations in general being rather choppy. Demo looks rather stiff and could benefit from some dancing like he does with his previous bagpipe taunt (maybe even a little gyrations or stumbling).
Me and my friend at school both love TF2 and we would watch the exact same videos about tf2 every day. This was one of them. thank you for causing us so much fun.
Even though you’d need convince 9 people with this taunt in the same server to play each of the 9 classes, come to the same area of the map and sync the beginning and end of the taunt perfectly to listen to all the parts of the music together, I still want this in the game. It’s incredible
They flail around a bit too much for my liking but other than that - amazing work I genuinely want this in-game now, would be the first multi-class instrument taunt that syncs into one cohesive music instead of there being couple single-class taunts with different songs for each
I already voted for this wonderful amazing piece, I really hope this gets added cause it just touches my heart seeing that all the mercs playing create such a memorable song.
I absolutely love the idea of this taunt, and the animation itself is super fun and expressive! If I could change it a little I think I would change some of the instruments, although triangle pyro is adorable I think he needs something like a drum kit, lean into that animal (the muppet) kind of vibe he gives off! I also think that medic would be great with a violin and spy with a clarinet, it seem like they’d fit their characters a bit better then the current instruments. Nitpicks aside this is wonderful and you’ve done an amazing job!
It’s an infinite partner taunt like conga, kick, etc. has a style select. 4-5 official songs, choose the song by choosing style. Loops, and each loop lets the next person start. (So if you join mid loop, you stand there waiting to pull your instrument out) I can see the sheer game stoppage when saluting the statue with this and rocket jump waltz
this is one of the best All-Class Taunts I have ever seen. The cherry on top would be that when you're in-game, you can walk up to someone using it and when you press G, it automatically syncs up the music so they're playing at the same point on the hypothetical music sheet.
