@@SuperGamefreak18 yeah.. that's for the sake of the show. i even more disturbed by the fact, a bop could broke galaxy class armor, which is clearly doesn't make sense. its more logical if the one is vorcha class, but again for the sake of the show, they may didn't have vorcha's model qualified for movie quality.

@@sithlordgaming6692 That's actually not true... The special effects for the show WERE highly detailed, just look at the remastered version of TNG to see how detailed they were... They werent redone like TOS, those are the original shots in High Def... They just appeared lower detailed on screen... The reason the ship changed was because of the sets, they were not designed for movie cameras of the day... Hence why the D was destroyed... However the original Ent D model was changed to be NCC-1701-E before being packed away... Logic prevailed though as the powers that be decided if all new sets had to be built might as well create a new ship... And thus a CGI Enterprise E model came to be... They could have just as easily created a CGI Ent D model for close up shots if they wanted...

You know, I never really saw the issue with having smaller engineering section with the Galaxy class. In a way, it kind of made sense to me. This is a large ship. Having many functions combined into fewer panels decreased the amount of time it would take to implement a given function. On the other hand, I can see why they favored a larger engineering section. To be fair, Voyager’s engineering section was bigger because it allowed for scientific research to occur in main engineering. The Galaxy class greatly outnumbered the Intrepid class in terms of scientific research departments/rooms. Which is why I never really saw the problem with the smaller room. Either way, you’ve produced another excellent video. Keep ‘em coming.

Except one flaw in your logic is they were constantly doing research in the Ent D's Engineering section! Great video, IRL Roddenberry insisted that Fontana write a scene set in Engineering for 'Encounter at Farpoint' as if she hadn't then it probably would have meant that no engineering set would have been built. As it was it was built in such a way to be easily redressed so it was pretty multifunctional. Personally I always thought they should have had a slightly larger engineering section that easily became the battle bridge. That way when the Movie set was destroyed they still could have used saucer separation when it was relevant. ('Final Mission' springs to mind by that time the movie bridge set had been struck and no cash/space to rebuild it so Riker endangers the whole ships complement both exposing them to radiation and weaving the bulky ship through an asteroid belt)

What, no mention of Leah Braum and her telling Geordi that he messed up her design LOL. Just kidding. In real life, the folks responsible for any and all maintenance, updates, and repairs are done by the enlisted personnel and not officers. That was the only thing that kind of bothered me with Star Trek, not enough enlisted people and them getting their due respects with the exception of Chief O'Brien. I say this only because I was enlisted for 25 years and rarely ever seen an officer get their hands dirty. No offense to officers because their duties were quite different. Great video! What was the logic behind the self-destruct only being available in engineering (and cancelling on the bridge?). What if access to engineering was cutoff? It's obvious that this was a problem, since Star Fleet why back to it being accessible on the bridge (As seen in Nemesis?). It's also assuming a lot that they'd be able to get to the bridge if they decided to cancel the self-destruct.

Yes that is certainly a huge design flaw requiring auto destruct to be activated in Main Engineering and disabled on the Bridge only. I'm sure we can think of countless emergency scenarios where the Captain (and First Officer) are in neither location to start/stop auto destruct. If I remember correctly, Captain Janeway could order the IMMEDIATE (no timer, silent warnings) destruction of Voyager from any location on the ship if she wanted to... simply because there wasn't enough of that DAMNED COFFEE!

The Enterprise E id say, as it provided more power as well as the Sov is a newer class! The 2nd Deflector backup makes sense to me... And apparently the Battle Bridge can in FACT serve as another command center for the entire ship! And Id bet the core on the Promo would be VERY different then anything we've seen before... Something I've never understood: surely the deflector dish is more important when travelling under impulse power as when at warp all particles and objects that could damage the ship would be moved aside by the warp field. After all, the premise of warp travel is it moves space around the ship rather than moving the ship through space so no matter should ever enter the warp bubble, while at impulse speeds you could plow straight into small debris that could damage the hull.
@TriAngulumAudioStudios
@TriAngulumAudioStudios 5 лет назад
Apparently not, while traveling at warp the warp bubble doe NOT negate the particles... And the warp bubble does not move space around the ship, not sure where you got that idea... It actually drops the ship in to a layer of subspace where the laws of physics do not exist in the same way they do here...

@AlphaRaptor2k6
@AlphaRaptor2k6 5 лет назад
Both. The Core, and or Just the Tanks, depending on the situation. Ideally, if the Tanks were to go critical you'd want all that antimatter to be well away from your ship when it exploded(the combined yield could just about equal the Warp Core going critical). That is if the ejection system EVER worked, it seemed to be extremely easy to jam or render inoperative. They corrected that flaw on the Intrepid class(even made it easy to reinstall the core without a starbase or dry-dock facility).

@@TriAngulumAudioStudios eh no worries I just pulled a star fleet if anything else, as in yes there was probably not that many galaxy classes when the enterprise first launch but like you said it probably wasn't only like 5 of them around, just like 5 named ones on screen

There is nothing in canon to suggest there is another office OFF engineering... In fact the Engineers office was mentioned in the video... It's the area with the Transparent Aluminum....

the only reason the galaxy class lost in the movie and the ds9 episode was so the writers could have shiney new ships for the next movie so they made up a bunch of flaws so inferer ships could take it down in the movie all they had to do was eject the core all doe with the level of firepower the ship had she could oblitereted the klingon ship with a sustained phaser fire and a single volley of photons the same with those gemadar ships the galaxy could be easy upgraded with armour and regenertive shield to meet new threats

Real Life reasons dont explain away in universe decisions.... So in other words it doesnt matter what the reason was in universe it happened thus the conclusions are sound and canon!

small engineering... studio budget cuts. remember, they originally considered not even building the engineering set way back when the show (next gen) put together
