Stew do you recommend ice baths for recovery if so how frequent does an athlete need to do it? I don’t have a large enough bucket so I use cold showers as a method of recovery but I know it’s not exactly the same thing.

Sure you can do them. But if you want to truly recover focus more on your nutrition and sleep. Check out this article. www.stewsmithfitness.com/blogs/news/nutrition-for-energy-eat-sleep-recover

I don't know if this applies to someone living in a different country but how do you deal with sabotage from family members and systemic politics in training. I know this can apply to the United States too but it only usually catches up to US soldiers late at their age like it wasn't until Stan White's kid Andrew White died of Seroquel that one would go, ok hey maybe this 23 year old soldier took his training seriously but the Charleston West Virginia system wasn't the right supportive environment for him. But for every sad story, an American is always one state away or one right coach away from Hell Week and then they can get that gold standard and whether they make it or not, they would have that comparison in their body to tell what's the right training? Are you BUDs worthy, are you better off building from a different foundation. Maybe try the CIA or maybe be part of the Air Force but you know at the end of the day what you're getting is quality. Your CO wouldn't be some head commander that might screw you years down the line, not because they weren't "local good soldier" but because they aren't up to par with the training of someone from a first world country. They're the athletes version of the military command. They're the big fish in the small pond and they will push you down the more you resist and unless you switch countries or you switch the process then your performance line will always be based on how much money you have. (By money I mean things like finding good training partners, finding expensive online courses, etc.)
