The Bewitched House, aka "1164 Morning Glory Circle," has been blown up, rebuilt, modified, and otherwise tampered with so many times over the decades that it has lost its original charm. It is way past time for Warner Bros to restore this iconic symbol of television history back to its former original glory, just as it appeared in Bewitched from 1964 until 1972. Please like if you agree with my comment.
retrounderground1 That would be awesome!!!! I just loved Bewitched and Elizabeth Montgomery. She was just awesome!!! Anyway getting back to the point, yes they should restore and put in a museum like the Smithsonian! After all they do have mock ups of Julia Child's kitchen and Archie Bunker's living room with his chair. So, why not?

62 years young and still watching this show!! It cracks me up still and enjoy the "corny" plots and special effects!! And yes Ms. Montgomery was one beautiful lady and a beautiful person, too! Gone way before her time!!
Gone and destined for a lake of fire for promoting witchcraft and the occult, ie., satanism. God says, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." Exodus 22:18. 🔥 targer.ca Scroll down to Halloween and the Occult.
I am nearly 51 years old and I grew up watching Bewitched even though it started in 1964 and I was born in 1965 I still watched repeats in the early 1970's. Elizabeth Montgomery was one of the most gorgeous and sexy and talented women who ever lived. The house should be restored to exactly the way it looked in Bewitched.
Dave Wiseman I was born in February of 1967 and I remember watching Bewitched when I was a kid, back before it got cancelled and on reruns during the years that followed. Great show!
I have one question, their address was 1164 morning glory circle, how did they get the mix up address episode with the lawn and grass being delivered to their house. In that episode it shows 194 and the 9 had turned around
Bewitched was a warm family show I loved when I was little . I remember when I was 12 years old running home for lunch so I could watch Bewitched while I eat. Now they are all dead. Even my parents are dead. I still have the warm memories and wish I could go back and live it all over again.
@David Brown,I can relate totally to every word you've placed in your comment. I remember viewing this program at night & it was only once a week,it was the "mod" years, the early 60's when just about everything at least to me,seemed just a bit easier,y'know, lighter times,a feeling of warmth as you've stated,& see how whatever occurs in life we still hold dear those memories!
Wish build more home like bewitched home. So beautiful. Still watch have all DVDs if make it DVDs blueray box Quilty sound. Fun watch all ages. Better then junk stuff on tv now days.
If you look at some of the earlier episodes you will notice that the Steven's house was right next door to the Baxter's House (Hazel) It also shows up in a few of Hazel episodes. It also appears that the Kravitz living room was also the same living room for Dennis the Menance.
In the 1963-64 intro to "Hazel," you can see the Stephens house just as Hazel, Missy, George, Sport and Smiley take off in the Baxter's bright red '64 Ford convertible! And, the year before, Harold is throwing confetti from the tree that's at the edge of the driveway as "Our Coach Hazel" is honored by her football team!
In the next to last season of Hazel, Harry Knowles and his new wife technically move in to the Bewitched house! Then in the final season it can be seen down the street when Hazel goes on a real estate call for George's brother! It's also down the street from The Partridge Family!
I was born in 1962 and loved watching Bewitched. I was still watching reruns of reruns till they took the show off of TV. All the "good stuff" made in the 50's, 60's & 70's are long gone. Mostly, just a bunch of junk on TV now!!!
An additional awesome fact is that GM sponsored both "Bewitched & I Dream of Jeannie". Darrin drove first a '64 Chevy Malibu, then a '67 Camaro. Sam had the '68 Impala. Major Nelson had the '66 Pontiac GTO convertible..... Don't think we didn't notice back then!
He was the real Darren Michelle. He created that role. No one could play it like him. Especially in the episode where he had on this gold colored ensemble with the bead and looked at himself in the shimmering dress Sam had on. Lol
The house is a mirror image of an actual house: 267 18th Street, Santa Monica, CA. The real house was used in the movie "Gidget". The reason the facade is a mirror image is the garage was already in place (it served as the "Lethal Weapon" house garage) and reversing the house worked better with the garage. Ironically, when "Gidget" became a TV series, "Bewitched" was already in production so the "Lethal Weapon" house was used as Gidget's house instead. The "Lethal Weapon" house dates back to the 1930s and can be seen in old "Three Stooges" movies.
Re: garage on the Bewitched. I was watching an episode of "Father Knows Best" (1958) on METV and I notice the garage in the background on this particular location shot and there was no Bewitched House. Also on a episode of The Donna Reed show where Scotty teaches Mary to drive (1960) there is no driveway or garage at the Hazel/Gidget house. Anyone know when the Bewitched and Hazel/Gidget home/garage were added.
Funny show. "Abner, hurry, come look". Of course everything looks normal by the time he looks out the window across the street."Gladys, take your medicine, lie down on the sofa and I'll call the doctor". Cracks me up every time.
*HGTV* should do a "Remodel" of the Bewitched house, turning the inside (which is just an empty frame) into the actual layout of the TV series set. It would make taking the tour of the back-lot where the actual home is located, so much fun. It would be great to see the empty shell of the house get turned into a real-life version of the TV show's home
I have read that the Warner Brothers Ranch, where this house sits in several other classic homes for movies and TV shows. Is being torn down for re-development of the lot, cost 500 million.
If you look at Christmas Vacation where Clark is in the attic looking at the B&W films of his childhood Christmas, you can clearly see the Bewitched house and people coming out of it....Good vid! Thanks!
Thanks for pointing that out....now I may have to dig out Christmas Vacation in the middle of the summer...lol. I don't care, great movie and soundtrack. #Squirrel
The Bewitched house was always my favorite tv house! I love that you can still see it on The Middle today. The house to the left of the Bewitched house is the Hazel house. It was always my childhood dream to live on that street. Does the cast of The Middle have any idea how lucky they are!?
Ooooooo yessss. IT was a great pleasure when at 2 pm sunday everybody was în their houses to see a new episoade Bewitched. I am from România and all my childhood was marked by American movies especially Bewitched. And I'm steel loocking at this serial and feel wonderful. Thank you for this posibility.
Sad update: As of this writing this iconic set-piece is no more. The entire historic row of reel, rather than real houses, which includes those of the Partridge Family, Hazel, the Cleavers and yes, Samantha, and a well-used New York street are NO MORE. Destroyed this past week in the name of corporate "progress."
Such disregard for movie and television history. Absolutely awful what they have done. This street with homes we recognize has existed since the 1930s and they just tore it all down. Unforgiveable.
My favorite of them all ! The following houses were used a lot too. Father knows best, Marcus welby, I dream of genie, Dennis the menace, dragnet, adam 12 - street scenes, emergency, the partridge family, my three sons, gidget. It's funny it's such a tiny little street. So many tv memories.
I am french and i have always loved that show, i am 54 and i remember watching this for the first time in the 75’s, it was so wonderful for me , like a sunshine in my family’s life, and i still watch this show almost every day ……… i don’t like other shows we have nowadays, my favorites ever will stay “bewitched “ at first, green acres and happy days 🤗💖
I have one to add. I just saw an old episode of the sitcom, "Hazel" that featured this house. Also, there is an episode of Hazel that features the house from, "I dream of Jeannie" where she tries to sell it as a real estate agent. The actor who played, "Howard Spraig" from Andy Griffith show was a potential house buyer in that episode.
Not only was the Bewitched house on Hazel and I Dream of Jeannie (as you mentioned), but it was also on: "The Flying Nun", "Gidget", "The Monkees", "The Partridge Family" and a couple of other shows that I don't recall at this moment.
Elizabeth Montgomery was one of the most beautiful women. Agnes Morehead was a devout Christian. I learned that a few years back. I was happy to hear it. I loved Bewitch. One of my favorite shows when I was a little girl.
You forgot an episode of Hazel. House was next door to the Baxter house. George Baxter's law partner purchased the house. I also think (but not sure of my memory of this), it was in an episode of Walker Texas Ranger
Grazie per aver pubblicato questo! Adoro questa serie TV, la rivedo sempre con piacere e nostalgia; ho riconosciuto anche altre serie TV...non sapevo che fossero vicine a questa bellissima casa di "Samantha"🌟🌟🌟
I JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED ON THIS VID!!!!! THE VIDEO WAS SOOOO GREAT!!! YET EVERYONE ELSE ADDED TO IT WHICH MADE IT EVEN MORE INTERESTING!!! GEE WHIZ......THANKS
Agnes Morehead was such a great actress that she could have done Bewitched in her sleep. Her acting talent was far far above it. But, in the 1960's T.V. was king. She had to go with flow.
I was born in 1961 loved watching bewitched and later on, I had to go back and watch the re-runs of bewitched because, I found out Elizabeth Montgonery was also playing her cousin Serina. I liked Serinas character, she was funny. Watchin the reruns again I enjoyed seeing Serina, more this time, knowing It was Elizabeth Montgonery playing her as well as Samantha. 🙂
Wow... Great video, Chris. They can now add WandaVision credits to this house. Talk about coming full circle with Agatha Harkness calling this her home.
They also used the house for the TV movie Brian's Song. If I'm not mistaken, the Partridge Family house is on the same street. I recognized it on an episode of Bewitched. Also , the house from Leave It to Beaver was Teri Hatcher 's house on Desperate Housewives.
Yes this is correct. I live out in the area and you could take the Universal Studio tram tour right through the street and they would show you all the houses (not sure about today).
I remember seeing the 'Bewitched' house in the 1938- 1942 'Blondie' series. Blondie and Dagwood lived in the house used later for I dream of Jeannie and Father Knows Best. In several episodes the "Bewitched' house is visible.
mark herring I believe you are mistaken. Watch the first part of this video and note that it states the house was built in 1962. Also, if you’ll watch Dennis the Menace (1959-1963) you’ll see the Bewitched house in Season 4 in several episodes. However, in the first three seasons it’s a vacant lot with only the garage there. The house popped up next to the garage in ‘62.
I distinctly remember an episode (late ‘68) where Samantha was in a parking lot talking to a group of ladies. As they all left, everyone pulled out in the then new for ‘69 Chevrolets! Larry Tate’s wife pulled out in a Corvette Convertible, another pulled out in Chevelle, another in a Impala four door hardtop, and then Sam had her ‘69 Camaro. What a great way to advertise! 👌
yes, Shirley Booth did Ford Commercials with her family, even did a new Mustang. The only odd one was Perry Mason, sometimes he was in a Ford and some shows (same year) in a Cadillac, found out when he was in a Ford , guess who the sponsor was? GM was doing it when he drove Cadillacs. that was in the first few years of the show
What a nice surprise! I watched every episode of "Home Improvement," even this one where they fix the house of the aunt of the old moocher, "Benny". It never dawned on me the house they used was the "Bewitched" house!
It's the house in the street we all wanted to live on. Can you imagine living on the same street as your favourite TV characters? It would be so much fun.😊🌈
The Hazel show house was right next door. The Bewitched house was used in a couple of Hazel episodes. Also the Dennis the menace house was used in a few Hazel episodes too.
Or to turn you into a frog or goat if you tick her off! Or cast some kind of spell on you to make you look foolish, like telling the truth too much even when you should keep things to yourself, or to send you back in time or to the North Pole, or whatever else she can think up to make your life miserable.
