Just about every airlines in the world that operates the 777 has gone with the 3-4-3 seating configuration. This leads to a cramped economy experience over the previous days when airlines had a 3-3-3 layout. Well even with their updated interiors, Thai Airways has stuck with the 3-3-3 layout. Thai airways is 1 of my favorite airline that I love to fly because I like the livery and uniform and it's awesome. I wish Thai airways have air vent on a wide body jet, amenity kid and noise cancelling headphone in economy class on a medium to long haul flight.

I agree with you on the air vents, definitely asking too much if you're asking for complimentary stuff they hand out in business class, people would just steal them. Honestly the complimentary dental kit was generous for economy

I see, but I wish they have eye mask for sleeping. Even though it's a day time long haul flight, I need eye mask to sleep.

Agree that the Thai 777 is more roomy than the A350. IMO it was much better on the Mel to Bkk route.

Hiya Nice video. You said a good point.. each flight is different true... I recently tried China Eastern. London to Shanghai to Bangkok. Nice flight food and crew just as good as Emirates and Qatar..yes I would fly with them again..But if the price is good I will Fly Thai airways to Bkk the next time. Thanks for the nice video and your time and effort to share your experience..

I feel any airlines that have 3-4-3 on 777 or a350 should instantly lose their 5 stars and the only way to gain it back is to go back to 3-3-3

Emirates has 3-4-3 and it’s really good. Idk y people crib about it when the seat is the same size or .5 inches smaller. It’s only the aisle that faces a problem otherwise the 777 can handle 3-4-3.

@@Gary-vv5gt the A350 don’t have room for 3-4-3 configuration that’s why it can only be 3-3-3 due to it’s narrow width of the plane.

It’s not usually they fly the new configuration 777-300er to Sydney it’s very rare. They mostly fly the original configuration which doesn’t have First class. Normally for Sydney flights it’s only Business and Economy class all the time.

@@volgrenfanbus1294 77M does but retired 77B that are still in use that doesn't have first class because they got A380 and 747 before retired

@@AviationADC there is no such thing as 77M because I checked the seat configuration for each of these Thai Airways Boeing 777. The 777-200 is only coded as 777 ,777-200er is coded as 77E ,777-300 coded as 77R and the 777-300er for the 14 that Thai Airways order are 77B.

Quite a few airlines actually have the 777 with 9 seats across instead of 10. ANA, JAL, Ethiopian, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines and probably a few more

But in all fairness, most fairness most of them are outdated and when it's time for a retrofit (i.e. Cathay), they'll opt for a 10 abreast config. I knew that JAL has 2-4-2 on their Dreamliners (which is similar) but have yet gotten a chance to fly it yet

You can't. But 3.5mm headphone jack to Bluetooth dongels like AirFly are a lot more easier and cheaper to get now

Did you sleep on the plane, if so, how many hours and how much did you pay to fly Thai airways to Sydney?

Maybe 2 hours or so? It was a mid day flight so I wasn't sleeping too much

@2:14 The liquid restriction is pretty standard at international airports though. It's not limited to just water. If your coffee was liquid, then it was correctly disallowed, not plain stupid 😉

Nope. This is for additional screening already past security with coffee purchased airside, while drinking it. Pretty stupid.

@@nonrevmax right, in that case I think it was because the hot drinks could cause harm / hazard during boating (e.g. in case of spilling). Cold drinks are fine. This is also common at most international airports. I never boarded with hot drinks in my hands, but saw other passengers in the same situation as you.

@@siameseworldnope, this has happened to me on all Aus flights back from Asia. It’s happened to me in Jakarta, Bangkok, and KL and Hong Kong all screen right as you board the plane. It’s really stupid.
