It is worse in the Philippines. There are several video channels by Filipinas that talk of scams that the Filipinas have going on foreigners. They say at least 90% of the foreigners are getting taken and not just money. Mostly it is emotional. I got it twice in 4 years. Filipinas are not honest or trustworthy with foreigners. I sure they look for the ones that sends them money. Fortunately I never did. The last it would have been better if she had stuck a knife in my heart as it wouldn't hurt as bad.

Learn as much about the culture as you can and as much of the basic language as you can. I'll be blunt, if you expect loyalty, honesty, trust etc from ANY WOMAN you are in a transactional relationship with........you are a fool!. You can take the girl out of the bar, but you can't take the bar out of the woman. You will never be 100% accepted in the Thai culture. You are only looked at as a meal ticket t0 90% of Thai people. If you think ANYTHING of substance will come from a working girl, you will be another statistic. Don't get any emotional attachment to 90% of Thai ladies. To approach a woman you ask them "are you working?, do you want to work for ME. As my "employee" this will be your job then state your requests. Tell them as your employee they can be fired. Then, go off and have some fun. Don't be a Captain Save a Hoe. 85% of the girls have Thai BFs and the BFs are a part of the scam. If a woman show up with a "brother" when you go to eat, that isn't her brother!! Thai woman will lie to save face. You are there for sex and play, and nothing more. It's business............and NOTHING more. They ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY until you don't have any more.

Don't think about it.........it's business ONLY and there should be NO other thought with a woman you give money to. Don't be THAT guy those with their head screwed on right talk about as being fools. There is NO loyalty, honesty or trust with any working girl. PERIOD.

Well i think that a foreigner who mary a young girl and do it quickly, they ask for problems themself, i have thaiwife, she is not young i send her money, every mounth, now we have being married for years and she care for me i think. I think that we and i include myself because i one time married one to quick, not that she cheat me here i think about money, she didn't, but i think that we are sometimes too naive, my wife i have now live with her son, what she is doing when i am not in Thailand i can't say but then again she also not know what i do in my country, i just think that we yes as you said must have open eyes, give it time, meet family look around how they act together, give it one maybe two years, don't jump in the water before its hot. In the past, as is during WWI and WWII where all fallen nations' populous try to find a better life. It is about striving and thriving (mainly in Europe). Then And I would ask myself, what do I have to offer (since I am the alpha male), have I seen them through, do I really see what they see in me? Am I ready and happy to give? What do I want to take? What is the bartering rate? What is the terms? Can I accept that? Brother, I am sadden that there are those who half fallen into the trap as you have illustriously written. There is a Thai saying that when we orbit (Koechorn, read as "Koe John") around unwanted things, and it is hard not to be attracting these negative things into our lives, the word is called - Akochorn (opposite of Koechorn). It is all about the company one keeps. Can't blame for what we ask for and the contents of package. So avoid Akochorn (read as "A Koe John") I hope you find someone who loves you for who you are. When I use to come years ago I would often use the Internet cafes to connect back home . I d see them sitting there some would have 5 or six chat windows open all at the same time .

Agreed but the guys are culpable some of them are total asses. That said the girls take care of number 1 and if no alarm bells ring for you you will get sucked in by some. Very few ladies have any empathy for some foreign guy that visits every now and again but sends them money, to be quite frank my feeling is it is the guys fault regardless of what is morally right or wrong. Of course next to no Xpats speak Thai so it is not difficult to BS someone about any kind of circumstances is it and they all close ranks when required!

Many of them walk about Thailand acting like the big I am because Thai women apparently find them 'handsome', completely oblivious to that fact its the money they are attracted to and not their bald head or fat gut and typically not learning the language and culture or eating the food. @@UTCM Bill, I have been with my Wife for 15+ years. She is absolutely amazing. We are best friends and inseparable. We never seem to get tired of talking with each other and being with each other. Perhaps I am lucky or maybe it is just that we work at and value our relationship. We have worked hard to build our life together, I do not want to lose that. I will say that Thai women are jealous. The key is to not give them anything to make them jealous. I have seen many families broken due to infidelity. It hurts everyone, but some people never learn. Sometimes it all comes out at the funeral.

If the farang is living at home and only visits Thailand for holiday then they most likely have a wife.I'd say 90% of these farang are cheating on their wives with Thai women. The exception would be the farang that actually live full time in Thialand who are obviously not married. Oh and the younger backpacker type farangs.

thats pretty much a theme where ever we are, it all takes money. I work part time and rent a studio on my own, its comfortable for me. Unlimited internet is my only extra cost.
