When I used to work at a Thai restaurant, I was like a broken record recommending suki haeng. I hope more Americans give it a try. Thanks for the recipe!
In Hong Kong we call this red bean curd "南乳" (naam yu) and the white one "腐乳" (fu yu). The red one smells and tastes much stronger than the white one, so not everyone here likes it (though I happen to love it).
You are super funny this round. The experienced you corrected your amateur self and cracked jokes along the way. Thank You for fun time here. Will definitely give this a try.👍🏼
remind me when I was in university. There was (Thai) suki in canteen. The chef didn't add suki sauce in soup or stir-fry, just let us drizzle in our plate as much as we want. อร่อยหอมน้ำมันงามากครับ
WOAW , very nice idea and Thaï chicken recipe my friend ..... Very very tasty with a lot of flavours ...... Thanks a lot for this great recipe ! ! ! ! Hello from FRANCE ! ! ! !🍊😍🍄💖🍚🍄
Goodness in a plate...my mouth keeps watering when Pai's scoped the noodles on to the plates... Gosh another recipes not to be missed...thank you Pai..
Khun Pailin sawasdee krap. Today wife made suki hang and she followed your recipe. BTW wife is Vietnamese and I am Indian and we lived in Thailand close to a decade, so we miss Thai food a lot krap.
Hi Pailin. You probably know from your husband or in the past the red fermented bean sauce also goes great with pigs knuckles and taro. The combination is incredible done right. Also many use the bean sauce to make buddhist vegetables we have during the lunar new year.
When living in Bangkok I used to go to Chiang Mai over the weekends and claimed it was for the cooler climate, the temples or the outdoors.. but really it was just for the suki haeng... good times..
Shat! I've been slicing chicken breast way too thin. That's the reason why the meat dries out too fast before I could properly sear them at all😭. Thanks Pailin, now I know I'mma have some juicy chicken every time!!!
I feel like it's so eeriely quiet when Pai tastes the food and you don't hear the HTK theme playing at the bg. I think I'm just used to it from her old videos. Anyone else feels the same..?
Yassss, my all time favourite food! As a Thai student living abroad, your recipes are a lifesaver when I'm missing food from home! Thank you for spreading such quality and accessible knowledge out there
Pailin, I delight in learning from you! My family loves trying the recipes. Honestly, I sometimes alter them a little. I like ginger, so I sometimes add extra. I also appreciate that you taught be about galangal. Keep up your great work!!! Sorry that I haven't sent in any photos yet, but several recipes have come out very nicely.
Really interesting to see how suki in Thailand is an approximation of the Japanese sukiyaki taste using Thai and Chinese ingredients. That said I'm Chinese and I've never had red fermented beancurd lol
I was in Thailand for 2 weeks and had the most incredible noodles at 3 different hotel breakfasts and at a night market and they were so good I’ve literally had dreams about them. I think this is it!! Thank you!!!
Just learn that but the Thai suki has nothing to do with that Indian word because it comes from the word Sukiyaki in Japanese (although the dishes (since we also have Suki Narm or Suki in broth soup) are very different from that of Japanese.) The word shorten to be "Suki". That's it.
Nice video.. Looks really delicious. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills when it comes to cooking! Keep inspiring others. Nice recipe and easy to follow tutorial. Thank you so much 😍😊👍🍽🍴🥄🥂🍵
