I have my one way ticket for October 13. Just found a babysitter for my dog so I can find a permanent place to live and sort out my long term visa. I can't wait!

Thai here, I had to laugh 😂 when you said "Thais act like they understand you when they don't!" The weather is hot, very hot, and extremely 🔥. You are right about that. You know a lot about Thailand, Thais and the culture 👍

Rule 1 - Travel to Thailand in December for 2 months, and then again in May or June for 2 months. Repeat this one more time. Make sure you can handle the humidity and let the “vacation” vibe wear off a little. Expect to have spells of crazy loneliness at times. Do not buy a ticket and plan a move permanently without doing a low season and a high season extended stay.

Would you be interested in maybe doing a video with simple gestures & more simple phrases? Your other videos with that were very helpful. Also, a video showing using the currency. That would be good. If you or Kendall felt comfortable going to the market and showing using Baht. Wonderful advice.

Also remember you will be spending most of the day indoors. Or running from aircon to aircon

Very good advice. I plan on doing my retirement visa in 2025! I have been to Thailand many times, but always short vacations.

Good luck with driving in Thailand. Like driving in Mexico in the 1960's. Completely insane and very dangerous.

Dude I’m really enjoying your content. Never been to Thailand, and I won’t be able to retire for another 17 years, but when I do Thailand is definitely on my list of places to check out. An another note, can you get corn tortillas, tostadas, and tortilla chips there? I’m a Southern California guy, fish tacos and shrimp ceviche tostadas are a staple food

Go Wholesale does have an “imported” section and you can find what you are asking for but the selection is small and more expensive than Thai food.

Good point about greetings. They don't really do that here. They will often not introduce their names when there is a group. What they will often do is smile and wai as you approach.

Thanks for a great and informative video! My plan is to retire in Saraburi hopefully during next year, I have done a lot of research and also lived there in periods last 5 years, it's perfect to have a girlfriend to help you out with pretty much everything including learning basic Thai because almost no other farang in that area, which I love by the way!

thats a beautiful part of the country isn't it? I have heard lots of waterfalls and I think part of Khao Yai. There is a vineyard there I really want to go to.

Great video and what is your suggestion on getting a local cell phone service there to get around when there is no Wi-Fi with my own service and how much the cost ?
@portlandGTR

$10 get an eSIM for your phone. Make sure it’s unlocked from the carrier. Cell phone service is cheap

Always great content in your vlogs mate. Im semi retiring in Chiang Mai in September / October. Ive been visiting Thailand for about 15 years so know what to expect to a point, but always good to have the extra tips and tricks. I look forward to catching up for a Thai tea if you and Kendall up for it.
