in 2016 when i went first time to pai with motorbike....tourist van actually hit me on curve and i fell and van kept driving...i picked up my bike and my bloody body and drove back of van 10mins but he not care....ended up stoping and clean wounds with water....sicks to me that van not stop or care even he fking hit me on curve :D
Firstly, I'm glad you was ok buddy. Yes, they are crazy, and like you said, they wouldn't care much if they hit you. The vans are my worst enemy on the roads here. They drive way too fast.
It's a little detour off the actual loop mate, but many people include it in the loop. It's a bit of a drive to get up there, but worth it. Thanks man, I enjoyed the Live stream last night .
Fantastic video, Wayne. I throughly enjoyed watching your trip to the Thai - Burmese border. I recently returned from my trip to Thailand, and after watching your video, I would like to see that place myself. Take care, stay safe on all your trips and please continue to create great videos for those planning to see interesting places in Thailand. Best to you.
Thank you! I hope you had a good trip. I really enjoyed going to the deserted border, I love things like that. It's well worth a visit. Thanks again, I appreciate it.
Thanks, Wayne. You find some interesting places, as always. BTW, I sent you a DM on IG. Didn't hear back. I just wanted to make sure you don't want any changes. Thanks again and take care!
Spot on mate. It is a tourist trap with very little to actually see. Even Lucille didn't particularly like it rattling away on those bumpy roads and dirt tracks 😂 Love the border crossing though with the security being rolls and rolls of barbed wire. Maybe its the dogs that are the guards 😂 Top video Wayne. Cheers buddy 🤩 On to Pai which is the perfect next destination. I love the hippy vibe there and the local live music. I hope you have fun there. Pity I missed your live last night. I had no idea it was on for the Loi Kratong celebration. 🤩
That damn rattle on the phone holder haha. The border was the high point of Ban Rak Thai. I didn't think much of it really. Pai is ok, not my favorite place either, but at least it's lively. Thanks man.
Nice one Wayne. I'm a bit surprised at the border you didn’t find a gap in the fence and poke your arsh through so you can tell people your arsh has been to Myanmar. Did you do that off camera? 😅 Take it easy.
I was hoping to mate, but something didn't feel right. I didn't fancy testing a Myanmar guard's patience either 🤣. Luckily I've been over the Myanmar border before. Cheers mate.
Really enjoying this trip. I agree what an odd town looks like you are in a small rural Chinese area. Sorry I laughed when you were at the boarder and all the dogs started barking it sounded like there were hundreds of them but we could not see any lol. Fantastic vid.
Is there an official border checkpoint where you could’ve just popped over to reset your 30 day visa? Might’ve been convenient, y’know, while you’re in the area and all that! The town looks alright but the backdrop was great. Beautiful scenery.
No official border here. I don't need to do border runs either buddy.. It was great to see this place, just a unused border gate with no one around. Thanks.
I know right! She posted pics of boats races, fire works somewhere near! I should see if she will receive you. Wonderful artist! We were neighbors in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico she had a gallery, spectacular work! @@WalkAboutWayne
I would choose Pai to live because it is more unique, chill and laid back. Pai also has a lot of tourists but they are not constantly in your face and do your head in.
Yes, Wayne, it's a tourist attraction. You are not supposed to move there lol. And yes, the whole idea with the bamboo boats is to view the village from the lake. I have proof. Have some great shots in the early morning fog. No, it's not another Pai in the sky. Take it easy man 😅
@@WalkAboutWayne yeah mate, i got some certificates here for you if you want one, 1 for every province you've been to only 100 baht mate it's a deal lol
I went on a boat trip on the boarder and we were told we can’t go any further because there are soldiers with machine guns around the corner! We turned around!
I was thinking that here also mate. I thought, a guard could be waiting around on the other side of the fence. I wanted to go over the gate, but didn't want to take any chances, especially with Myanmar.
