Sankaran mama on fire from 8:50 onwards. Ppl were spell bound, I guess. Probably the first video I ever watched N number of times and never get bored. The mirdangam part, to be specific.

Quick question from a general listener not a connoisseur..... How does the Ghatam artist remember every beat played by the Mridangam artist? Will anyone know if the Ghatam artist missed a beat??
The ghatam artist doesn’t necessarily play everything that the mridangist is playing, but sometimes we see that some of the key themes/phrases that the mridangist plays is reflected in the ghatam artist’s playing and they can use those themes as an anchor for their improvisation during their turns. My apologies if I have misstated anything.
