Why would anyone tell you to skip Crystal Maiden, she's one of the most enjoyable supports and very strong at any skill level

Because of grubby I found motivation to play Dota 2 more than League of legends. also Grubby try some of the Arcade games in the Dota 2. I recommend Dawn of War and Overthrow!

16:40 Ogre Magi cast the spell on you while he was on low ground and you were on high ground. He shouldn't be able to see you there, but he saw you because of ward on the mountain. You need to pay attention to landscape, if enemy sees you when he shouldn't be able to. Gold and XP bounty for dewarding is support's bread and butter.

I remember when i was around 14-15 years old, this guy that was like the best WC3 player in my town at the time gave me a couple of cd's from which i can learn micro and tactics. On the cd's, with perma marker, there were writings like "Sweet", "Moon", Lucifer". Amongst those I saw aCD marked 4K Grubby and the first replay of your wc3 gameplay, back in 2005-2006 or something like that.. I was amazed, i think i still have the cd in a case somewhere. Giving your godlike WC3 skills, i was wishing for the day you start playing Dota. I tought, and still think so just you need some more in game time, you will make a new micro meta and win some tournaments with heroes like visage, meepo, brood, lycan etc... At 40:50 mark you were mostly right, since when you saw the battle it was already too late to join. Another thing is that the map movement of the whole thing wasn't very optimal.

Letting you know, there are still some people call heroes in wc3 name. For example, some people still call Crystal Maiden, Jaina. IO as Wisp, Anti magi as Demon Hunter and such.

Friendly advice, please always eat tango on early levels. Once hp drop from 90%.

She's basically Elsa. Just sing "let it go" whenever you ult for +69 damage.

I'll assume no one already told you this, so: Playing as pos 5, you need to block the big camp, you don't have to place a ward there just block it with your hero every 59 seconds mark. And you need stack small camp at 54 seconds, because if you pull just ordinary spawn camp some of your creeps will survive and join the next wave pushing your lane away. As pos 5 your job is to keep your carry safe, and let him farm, your carry is safest right next to your tower. However you need to understand enemy duo's abilities. Sometimes they are just too strong and they might be able to farm your stacks or kill you while blocking a big camp with your body, if so just place sentry ward to block it. DO NOT block camps with Observer wards, (just like you did) they give significant gold and XP bounty, you must place Observer Ward so they can't be easily found. Mountain Wards are the worst because it's easy to find, and the best because of vision advantage it grants, so don't place them unless you are ready to defend it. Overall, sometimes you just can't do much if your carry is very weak, and can't really help you. Then you just buy Headress and Basilius Ring, to increase your duo's mana and health regen and you might be able to survive an enemy aggression.

41:50 When one of your heroes become sufficiently strong, you want to push with that hero to force a teamfight. Wraith King and Slardar to an extend were solid at that time of the game, so you want to follow them around, when they are looking for a teamfight. You decided not to and went farming instead. That's is your mistake in this particular scenario. Figuring out when your team has kill potential is difficult, as each hero is different. You'll learn that by time. 43:19 Here Wraith King is just acting like a jackass, for leaving the team.

Hoping you and Purge would collaborate soon. I feel like his style of coaching would suit you so well since he's very methodical is better at explaining nuances of the game.

Congrats on your first MVP! the guide tells you to buy a lot of regen in the laning phase. It expected you to trade skills a lot because you have passive mana regen. Doing this means the lane is gonna push, and that means pulling creep when regenerating is the play 41:00 this is actually the correct mindset. A lot of support just baited to help the cores, even though the fight is already half over.

Hey Grubby, a little feedback for your video thumbnail.. consider moving the "A-Z x hero names" to somewhere else that is not on bottom right. The heroes name are blocked by time/video duration numbers.

Dont know if you already learn this or not, but actually you can pull the big camp to creep wave at :25 to down right for radiant and :23 to up left & :17 to up (but need to cut tree) for dire to the creep wave if you miss the small one at :16/17

It takes a lot of time when you buy items by clicking them manually. You can use "auto-buy" , set hotkey mouse3 for autobuy items in options

6 tangos and salve is way to many regen. Build 3 tangos + 2 mango + 2 clarity + stats help you trade more efficient in the first 2/3 waves. You can always fly more regen when your lane is already solid.

as a 5k (still kinda shitty rank, there was a time i played more seriously with more time i was a little better) support 5 who played on and off for 15 years, i can guarantee that "splitting support 5" is not as wrong as chat may led you to believe, essencially a core could be doing that, but it's situational, sometimes is too dangerous to put a core in those positions, and pushing lanes is one of the biggest impact in map control/farm in dota, you were aware of what they were doing, you saw they were fighting with disavantage, and you couldn't get there fast enough by any means, in that case a "late" tp will only result in nothing and maybe even get you killed, while splitting will result in the enemy needing to split apart to deal with waves

I agree with you around the 40 min mark. You had just pinged smoke prior to them running into 0 vision and taking a bad fight.

I agree with grubby about split pushing when your team is in an unfortunate fight far from any TP target. It doesn't mean you didn't make a mistake in positioning prior to the fight, but once the fight is started there really wasn't a time when tping and starting the 15 second walk is better than pressuring the opposite lane.

Hi Grubby, I think it could be better for your youtube if you create a secondary channel for the Dota 2 content. Sometimes the algorithm can be rough.. I used to play Dota for years but didn't played dota 2 that much (I dont know, just didnt liked it), but always like to see your content, brings me some nostalgia and enjoyment too, good luck on your learning!

Grubby, sorry for the wrong topic, but phase boots is a really valuable item for Death Prophet. It is really painful for me to watch you cannot chase an enemy because of it. Your main dmg is ult and siphon, just try phase boots on DP, please :)

While not one of the most mechanical heroes, Crystal Maiden is one of my favorites. I can’t wait to see you perform better than me in your first few games than I do in over 250+. I’m quite sad that Windranger is so late in the A-Z but I’ll be ever waiting.

Wgen you chase someone you should start with frost nova. It has longer reach because of aoe

xD The opponent doesn't have a lot of stuns, once you have shard and you bkb, they can't stop you, meaning they can't fight at all. Their main dmg was AA, so once AA don't have tank in front, they just collapse, for those reasons, you're the winning condition of the game.

Idk why WK is mad about the lane pushing, he gets to farm the jungle camps easily when the wave gets cleared

Tbh, you might want to skip supports for now, particularly pos 5 supports. They have so much subtle stuff you need to learn flrst about the game before you can really pull them off properly. Might be much better to focua on pos 3-4 first as off-carry/support where your role is more flexible and forgiving. Eventually mid might be your best position, since you are used to being able to handle the pressure of being in the spotlight and having huge control over the direction of the game. ps. your split push at 40:30 was absolutely the correct call
