Don’t only think about the military service they provided for their country but the sacrifices they made along the way, whether that was leaving their families, entering a foreign country, or just living in an environment where their lives were constantly at risk.
This message is for everyone who is in the military, had family in the military, or even close friends of military personnel. Thank you for your service! Thank you for your sacrifices! Thank you for allowing us to live our lives freely in this great nation. Truly. Thank you.

Thank you because this means a lot having family that's served/serving! It is a cliché and honestly many don't know the sacrifice, so thats all they can say. I hope this sheds some light on the subject!

Damn, Doc, that is motivating as hell. Do know that a lot of us do not think it is cliché to say, "thank you for your service/sacrifice." A lot of times we don't see it that way. I can say I had a blast on active duty. But what I tell other Vets who don't know how to respond to that is, "Thank you for your support." It wasn't that long ago Vets were spit on for enduring the hell politicians signed us up for. Support like this means quite a bit to lots of us. All gave some, some gave all. God bless!

Mental illness: many soldiers don’t get re-integration therapy which is literally learning how to go back into society and living alongside civilians. My husband still wakes up at 2am and does a security check of the house. Not because he’s paranoid or because we live in a bad neighborhood. Because that’s what he lived. He has nightmares. He will forever be changed and often nothing is done to help these people. When Vets are asked to stand to be honored on Veterans Day, he won’t stand. He can’t face the pain that comes with being a vet. When you sign up for the military, you write a check in the amount of your life to the US government and you never fully get it back. Thank you for this Dr, you’re a doll.
