Every year we write out a menu for our Thanksgiving meal, get our menu ready to go see what ingredients we still need and what we need to buy then we head to the store grab everything we need after we have lunch as a family.
We come home get all of our ingredients out organize it by side dish, and then start prepping everything. Once everything is prepped then we start putting it into the stove and cooking. I normally put the side dishes that are gonna take longer in first and ones that don’t really need a long time to cook because I’ve already made them it’s just basically heating them Through I cook last.
This year my husband decided to make the turkey the night before because he said leftover turkey is way better than turkey that’s just been cooked. It actually tasted really good he was able to get it off the bone and put it into the juices and it worked out really good.
Then everything gets laid out and we start eating. It’s definitely our favorite meal of the whole year. This year the macaroni and cheese and corn casserole was a hit.
The first meal to go was the green bean casserole, then the cornbread casserole, next was the mashed potatoes and the funeral potatoes because we made so much we had lots to eat. Then was the mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. Because only a couple of us like sweet potatoes.
We still have turkey and sweet potatoes left and I’m going to be whipping up some recipes to use those up and then we are officially done with Thanksgiving dinner.
