Your endorsement of this saw was the final straw for me. I finally bought this after I saw it on your videos a few times and just love it. I'm 53 and had a bad accident a few years back and humping around a 60 pound Dewalt 12 inch and that big assed ridgid cart that weighs near 75 pounds is sometimes too much for me, especially in the Illinois winters. I put this on my old Home Dept wheeled, folding miter stand and I love it. I honestly do think it makes cleaner cuts than my 780 and it throws a hell of a lot less dust. I also wound up buying a Vannon 9ah battery for it as an extra and i use it more often when I am doing a small framing job. It seems to power through 2x4s so much better with the bigger battery. I'm not a Dewalt or Milwaukee fanboy. Good tools are good tools and I own Makita,Bosch, Ridgid and old school Porter cable from the 90s as well as Red and Yellow. But this was the best in class of these saws even though it cost double the Dewalt and the Kobalt. The deal breaker was Dewalt only being single bevel and Kobalt was only single in the corded. I don't trust Kobalt to continue making batteries long term and that killed that choice. But I DO love this little saw.

Ha. I have had the same problem. 51 years old and got tired of my DeWalt 12" Battery-powered 26 lb. Milwaukee means no cords, no heavy saw. For most work the saw is all that is necessary. 12" saws are rarely needed.

As a 61 yr. old general contractor who has gotten tired of "lugging" my heavy old 75# Makita 12" compound miter saw around for "case & base" I recently bought one of these sweet little saws based on this review. For the most part, it's everything mentioned, however, I've found one thing immediately that could be improved on. On a current project, I'm running 1/2" x 4-1/2" reversible base. Cutting outside miters for corners in excess of 90 deg. is problematic. You cant cut them vertical (as shown by trying to cut the 2 x 4 vertical) and the bevel stops on the saw are set to 45deg . If you look at them, they are a threaded adjustment so if you want to cut a 46 or 47 deg., you have to take out a wrench & change the stop height & then readjust when your done. Not a very efficient way to work! Too bad it doesn't have detents at 45 deg. & allow it to go past a couple degrees.

I decided to learn woodworking about 15 or 20 years ago. I learned my lesson of the importance of a good miter saw the long, hard way. My miters weren't working right, nothing fit no matter what I did. I thought the fault was my technique. I ended up faking things, sanding off excess, and using LOTS of caulk when I trimmed floor board. Anyway.... I finally decided to check the accuracy of the markings against my speed square. I found out that they whole thing was off by 1.5 degrees. OYE!!

I've got a Bosch 12" dual bevel and a little Makita 7-14". The Bosch hasn't see the light of day for over a year. Working in NYC I don't have the luxury of pulling up in my truck, throwing down a tarp and setting up in the front yard--my most recent job was installing 5-1/4" crown in a 4th floor of a walk-up. I know you are used to cutting crown nested but this saw was actually built to cut crown on the flat. It has a positive miter stop at 31.6 degrees and there is a little wheel on each side of the bevel that allows for positive stop at 33.8 degrees. You probably know this only works for crown with a 38 degree spring angle.

Thanks for sharing, I prefer a smaller blade miter saw for trim work. Used to use a Hitachi for years loved it. In more recent years I've been doing a lot more general carpentry, framing etc. Picked up the new (as of a couple years ago) Milwaukee 12" saw, I love it but it's not a fine trim saw. It could with the right blade and patience but a smaller saw would be way better. I might have to get me one of these to replace my old Hitachi some day.

Each company has the tools they make the best. Bosch is routers and miter saws. Milwaukee is reciprocating saws and M12 plumbing tools. Dewalt is job site table saws and board planers. Ridgid is plumber tools. They all make decent filler tools that are comparable and convenient to each company’s respective battery line.

Seems like the only time I pull out a big miter saw these days is when I'm running nested crown moulding. Are use a 7 1/2 inch Dewalt slider for casings and panel moldings and often for baseboard. When you're doing something like wall frames using panel moldings it gets really tiresome do use a big saw to make all those small cuts. And regarding Ridgid their tools are pretty durable. I think people confuse them with Ryobi but rigid makes a good trim router also. That swing out design is slick.

I ended up buying one of these saws to go with my ancient Ridgid 12" saw. I didn't think much of the Milwaukee 48-08-0551 stand so I bought a DeWalt DWX723 stand for them. It's super long and still lighter than the Milwaukee. Two saws can be installed on the DeWalt and still have space for a little work table. I see that the 10" Milwaukee saw has a depth stop on it to cut slots...not sure if the 7 1/4" does as I'm still waiting for mine.

Please do a video on your new Graco 20v sprayer. I'd love to hear what you think about that!

I bought this saw about 3 months ago, and it's perfect for trim and what not. But, It mos def doesn't have the balls like a corded saw. It bogs down on most mitered cuts on anything over 4 inches

Yea Rich, I was hoping you were going to catch the blade before you cut anything, lol. Looks like a fantastic saw and very lightweight and portable. Thanks for the video brother, all the best. Al from Maryland

Nice video! I know this saw is intended for "light" work, trim, etc., which is great, especially for lugging around up floors/stairs, rough terrain, but for the heavier stuff, I will die with my Bosch GCM12SD in my grave next to me. Milwaukee makes great power tools. To me, Harbor Freight's line of power tools (Chicago?) mimics or copies the design of Milwaukee power tools, for good reason. I enjoy your videos and Congrats on the sponsorship from Milwaukee!
