Since I had to start all over again on my Easter cactus I just don't know if it's going to Bloom this year I know it's much bigger this year but I'll keep you guys updated I just wish there was a way to show you guys pictures of before and after 😊
I also have Thanksgiving cactus and this year I did something different with them I left outside this winter and they flower much better for me when I had them inside my house temperature fluctuate a lot and the buds would fall off
They do flower better when they're grown outside. I grew one many years and left it outside until it got pretty chilly at night. It bloomed like crazy! Critters won't leave my outside plants alone now though.
Hi Amy. I was wondering if you recommend giving cal/mag (CaliMagic) plus seaweed to the holiday cacti. I have only been using a regular balanced fertilizer (Jack's liquid Orchid 7-5-6) once a month. My older plants, particularly my Easter Cactus, always seem to have something wonky going on with the leaves. Also, I would love it if you could make a hands-on video of how you repot a holiday cactus. I admire how carefully and methodically you work in your Orchid repotting videos. I learn so much about careful plant handling from these hands-on videos.
Hi! I use CalMag during the fall and winter months when I don't fertilize. The seaweed extract has hormones that might get them in growth mode, so I'm not using that. I used MSU time release fertilizer for orchids on mine last year during the growing season and they grew like jungle weeds. (No need for extra cal-mag with that fertilizer.) I have a hands-on repotting video I did last April 2023 if you need it right now. I'm hoping to get another one done sometime next month. Have a great day and happy growing! :)

I have been watering very,very sparingly. Or misted a little. I was afraid to loose it. No fertilizing at all. It takes two days for it to perk up after getting water. It sits in front of southern facing window. There is no new growth at all ,which is good. Mine gets like yours before I gave it a little water or misted. Thank you for going over this.
Hey hon yea I cant do easter cactus (smooth sides) all mine died over this winter 🤷♀️ Only one I can grow is the Thanksgiving (like the one i shared with you) mine is still alive and doing well. 😂 so im gonna stick with them. Oh I did get a miniature one. Hatiora rosea, Ill have to send you pics. It did well and is still growing.

Hi Amy. I love your videos and the orchid supply store too! My question is: what do you keep the temperature set to in your sun room - my Easter cactus loves my lanai but it can get upwards of 90 degrees here in Florida
Hi Sandra! I grow my Easter cactus in my house in an Eastern window. If yours likes being outside, that's what I would do. As long as it blooms, keep up the same care. Happy growing! 😇🌺
Hi Amy! I'm all about taking chances at this point. Yes, you have a good memory and my EC did bloom but I think she can do better this season. I've watered her "only twice" since November. Now, I'm going to fertilize with diluted bloom booster around 200 ppm soon. My Thanksgiving cacti have surely put on a show with it. Will see what happens 🤞🤞😇 Blessings, Your Arizona friend 🌵

I've had mine Easter cactus for a couple of years almost died a.year ago I kinda 😂 watered it to much. So this year I barley watered it. I watered about Maybe once a month a full soak and that's it and placed slow release fertilizer and I'll let you guys know if its gonna flower
Dear Amy I know thanksgiving day cactus like terra-cotta pots But my furnishings floor wall hangings are all brown so I don’t like to use terra-cotta because it’s just brown everywhere. I like to use colored pots colored ceramic pots. Can I transplant my Thanksgiving day, cactus this spring, even though it’s been two years having it and there’s no roots coming out of the nursery pot plastic pot , and can I put it in a ceramic pot that’s unglazed on the inside So I have two questions Thanks Amy God bless U
Hi! I would wait a year or 2 to repot. These don't need to be repotted often or they get huge really fast. I grow mine in nursery pots, not clay...and use ceramic pots as outer pots. It makes it a lot easier when you do repot. Happy growing! 😇
Hi Amy, my thanksgiving cactus made a lot of buds but they never bloomed. What did I do wrong? I don’t know why they didn’t bloom and the buds didn’t shrivel or fall off. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.
Hi! Oh no, that's no fun to go through. You wait all year for blooms, then nothing. Usually when this happens, it's from temperature extremes from season change or lack of light. Also, overwatering can be an issue. Mine don't take in as much water when they're budding. I hope it blooms for you next year! Happy 😇 growing!
I'm in Zone 3 where we get ling winter months from Nov to March. Should I stop watering in Nov? I have destroyed several over the years. Phyllocaldes kept dropping in segments. Please help. What did I do wrong?
