Creed Performing a special Thanksgiving Medley of "Higher," "My Sacrifice" and "Don't Stop Dancing" feat AMy Stapp live at the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game at the Texas Stadium on November 22, 2001.
The 911 attacks were not even close to being the world's "darkest hour." All that unity was used to trick people into supporting the pointless invasion of 2 countries. You're correct that Creed was there.
@@thededoidheskey6128nothing absolutely nothing is better in Europe. Not your food, not your music, not your movies, not your technology, most definitely not your sport.
If my history is correct, Christopher Columbus broke ground on the new world while the crew of the mayflower all belted out Higher and the natives returned in song with my sacrifice.
We were brainwashed into disliking Creed but with time, we have come around and finally accepted the truth that was very nearly erased. That Creed is an amazing band and one of the best of the early 2000s.
I did also. I recognized how good life was and appreciated the great people I experienced it with in my youth. I knew that some moments were very special and could never be repeated. The 90's was the last decade of a different America.
I was a devout muslim before coming across this video. When i saw the bald man flying though the air as the chorus hit i knew then that i could only follow the lord and savour Jesus Christ! Thank you Mr Creed.
It’s not only the same song, but this is literally them pretending to play while lip syncing to a backing track. It helps make that smooth transition....🤣
I remember one time some pop group like black eye peas or whatever was doing the HT show. They sucked. Horrible sound mixing, they sounded off key despite liberal application of autotune and their costumes were cringe
This music sounds like Jesus talking to me and never give up we lose people we love so much I know it’s hard to lose people never give up your dreams and keep going love you amen 🙏
Dude America is actually the best country in the world. This wasn’t even the Super Bowl. Just a regular game. But the nfl was like “we got Creed. Who does Bin Laden have? Not them.” Hell yeah dude
What a time this was. I was running Scott's non-profit With Arms Wide Open Foundation. My youngest daughter, Jazzy, was Scott's son, Jagger's, best buddy. Scott invited us to Dallas for this. I had airplane anxiety after 9/11 and the thought of getting on a plane terrified me. We took a looong train ride from Tallahassee to Dallas. We were up in a skybox during this show. For some reason I can't remember, perhaps due to the long train ride and little sleep, Jazzy had a temper tantrum. Scott came over and wound up giving her a piggy back ride. Later, we all went down to the field and the kids ran around on the astroturf. Three months later, we were at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake. Scott wanted to bring kids who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attack to the Olympics, to give them a positive experience. During the Creed show which was broadcast on NBC, he brought those kids up on stage and sang Children Don't Stop Dancing to them. My oldest daughter, Jade (who's still friends with those kids) and I were at the foot of the stage, bawling our eyes out. Scott did that because he absolutely cared about others. He has always had a tremendous heart. Little known fact: based on what Scott told me when he asked me to step into his Cadillac SUV when we were having an event in Orlando for kids with the Orlando Magic to listen to the demo tape: Scott wrote Children Don't Stop Dancing with the intention that it be a duet for him and a well-known female singer for whom he was seriously crushing-- Faith Hill. Instead, Scott's sister, Amy, joins him briefly towards the end of the song. What a magical, yet painful, time that was. Say what you want about Scott and Creed, but I witnessed the truth: his heart is real and the world is a better place because he, and Mark and Flip, are in it.
I agree that Scott is absolutely a caring individual. Thank you for writing this comment and sharing your story, it’s great you and your child had that experience. I just watched the “Don’t stop Dancing” performance that you were talking about before I saw this comment, absolutely shocked.
I believe it. When the flint, Michigan water atrocity happened, Scott showed up himself and brought a massive semi truck full of cases of fresh drinking water. He didn’t have a huge camera crew, a hundred people with him, etc…it was just Scott, the truck, and a few people to help unload it. Can absolutely tell he did it out of care and not out of trying to get spotlight from it. Great guy in my book and I wish only the best for Scott and his family. Michigan is grateful to Scott and his generous act of care
Actually, every bit of it happened, just as I wrote it. You're so rude, I can only conclude you have some sort of unrequited crush yourself, or maybe you're simply just a trolling jerk. Or both.@@erikandrews9480
Women will not allow this... A straight white male? Attractive women? No gays? Bl ak people singing *WITH* white people in unity in *SUPPORT* of America?! I beg your pardon???? So feminism is a joke to you?!
If there is a NFL season, we need to have Creed perform a halftime show on one of the Thanksgiving games. We called upon them before to heal the nation, now we must put our faith in these heroes once again!
I was an 11 year kid living in north Dallas after 9/11 scared and unsure on what would happen next. Thanksgiving definitely meant more that year watching this halftime show with my family made made me feel like everything was going to be ok. Creed is most definitely a cheesy band but because of this show they will always have a place in my hart.
Thank you for sharing this! I was 8 when 9/11 happened and I wasn’t even in the US yet but I remember watching the news. Such horrifying memories about that day.
This was when America was the vehicle for global exploitation...And now they want to bankrupt us and move on to China...So any display such as this will be imperialism or crony capitalism...
I remember this like yesterday. I was in 4th grade at a big Thanksgiving neighborhood party and people were in tears from this epic performance. Thank you Creed! Also, the transition form Higher to My Sacrifice was amazing!
This video has loved rent free in my house for years and its always been a meme with my friends for years. Funny to see it kinda become a recent mainstream meme recently.
@@LagowBros No it isn't. Lol it is a blantant overdub/backtrack. This is apparent a few seconds later when he is singing a soft part but has his mouth wide open like he's yelling. If you watch any raw live footage, Stapp can't stay in tune to save his life.
I have watched this at least 6 times now. I wasn’t even alive when this happened but goddamn this is just so iconic. Such a snapshot in history accompanied with admittedly catchy music. It does make me weirdly emotional. Not only does the music have an emotional value but the context being 9/11 is just surreal. It undeniably influenced this halftime show & you feel the subtext
I remember this halftime show. It was during a time when we were proving to the world just how resilient we were from the 9/11 attacks with over the top performances. Though this was just the beginning of the 20year long war with the Middle East, I do miss these days.. back when america was celebrated.
"Dont stop dancing," was a perfect closing number. Creed knew what we needed to be reminded of. Its not about how you weather the storm but being able to dance in the rain. 7:00 the expression on his face speaks volumes. In any other situation they would be smiling and yelling to the crowd. Here, he simply nods in acknowledgement and silent thanks. This humilty is uncommon in most famous musicians but Creed knew anything else would have been inappropriate. Maybe im over analysing but this halftime show is really something im contemplating
