This type of style is called hybrid, they make cgi models and than the animators draw over the models and scenes so they look animated and not like a video game character, demon slayer did the same thing in mugen train, this movie comes out in a year so by then the movie will be way more polished and possibly like mugen train, just some side notes the villans in this movie are the red ribbon army from og db so that's why you are feeling an og db villan type vibe( also broly is in this movie you can see him for a second)

i honestly miss the hand drawn animation the new animation just looks like a video game

In mugen train they have used CGI for some scene. Enmu tentacles was CGI. Even the first episode of deamon slayer mugen train they used CGI when crow guiding the demon slayers to the shed or garage of the train also for some others scenes too. DBS broly movie also had some CGI like Goku SSB vs broly, Vegeta SSB and Goku SSB vs SSJ Broly and Gogeta vs broly in other dimensions, all this fight was GGI. I am fan 2D animation and I don't like CGI but it looks awesome if it used for some scene which I have mentioned. But the whole new DBS movie is CGI which looks like Game trailer it doesn't give the vibes of anime.
