***Correction*** Hey guys the lug to lug is *49.6mm* I had a brainfart and didn't realize that they were referring to just the round case measurements which of course would be the same length & width-wise @ 43mm. They don't give a lug to lug so I measured it myself @ *49.6mm* The dial and bezel on this Seastar are gorgeous! Great specs and decently priced for a legit Swiss watch!

I gotta tell you, I have not been very impressed with a lot of the new divers that have come out lately. The one that has impressed me most brand wise, has been Phoibos. But this is a pretty sweet watch! I absolutely loved the bezel edge and the blue on the bezel and dial is gorgeous. The stamped clasp doesn’t bother me at all! The price is a little high, but only because I’m poor! I’m sure it’s worth every penny! Highly impressed! Thanks for the review.

The deal-breaker for this watch is the lack of regulation. Sure, it's regulated at the factory, but neither I nor my jeweler has the tools to regulate it when it loses accuracy. Minor gripes were the small index markers, the price, and the lack of lume on the bezel. Anyway, I love the color and the 80 hour power reserve.

The indices are fine. Any larger, too similar to so many other watches. I do agree about the cheap clasp. For me, deal breaker. As for being highly polished, let's face it the majority of people who buy dive watches don't dive))))

I picked up the version with the blue -- black gradient dial a few weeks ago.. Really cool watch but the markings on the bezel were all but impossible to read unless you put the watch in a certain angle. It was really annoying so I ended up returning it. I was really surprised something like that would make it to the production version. I would think it being a tool watch that readability would be a major priority. I was pretty bummed out.
@Ilestun
@Ilestun 4 года назад
Received mine (all blue with metal bracelet), accuracy is terrific, after the first 24 hours wearing it I'm still within a second my reference smartwatch.....who needs COSC lol. Only thing I can say, it's a very "dressy" diver. Only wearing it one day at the office and already 5-6 dudes asked me watch is the watch because it's gorgeous. First time one of my diver's provoked so many reactions..... Bought it two weeks ago from Jomashop (best price I've found), was lucky enough to avoid the customs fees...... One thing : the lume isn't very strong......but it lasts LONG. I'll test it in diving conditions when the summer comes........never felt like diving in winter (unlike some of my friends).

This watch is amazing with accurate time keeping and 80 hours power reserve. However; the bracelet needs to be more professional with 20 millimeters width having double clasp, machined and solid brushed links. The bezel numbers need to be readable, as they are very shiny. The index marks need to be a little bigger and the hour arm to be a little longer. Tissot needs better lume for this advanced dive watch. Otherwise, all the other technical specifications are spectacular. Many Thanks for the comprehensive review and Best Regards.

Seems like 80-hour power reserve is the new standard, making those 38 or 42-hour power reserve in those ETA, Sellita and even more high end brands' and in-house movements outdated and unacceptable, especially this is available in a non-luxury timepiece. Even Ball is producing their in-house movements with 80-hour power reserve.

I was looking into this watch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to get the power reserve at 80 they slowed the beats per second. If that's the case it's not as a smooth sweeping hand which is what I like. Wondering what's the difference between this watch and a seiko regarding the second hand movement?
@1968jpy
@1968jpy 5 лет назад
als 1 great observation and great question as well. Personally I’d rather have a Seiko like the Sumo I own with a 6R15 movement and even better the new 2019 Sumo with the 6R35 movement and 70 hours power reserve. The Sumo I own has 50 hours power reserve and I’m fine with that .
@jarodstevens2710
@jarodstevens2710 5 лет назад
Yes the Powermatic 80 aside from other things has a high-tech escapement that tends to be more accurate and they slowed the beat rate 21,600 just like most SEIKOS but as far as quality it still is Swiss Movement keeps great time very thin and very very accurate and dependable I have two Powermatic 80 watches and they both keep within 3 seconds a day.. just a side note I really do like movements with a smoother sweet but fertile watches there's so many advantages to the slower beat rate hope this help I know it's long-winded

This could have been such a great watch but Tissot made so many design mistakes. First they have these big fat hour and minute hands and then put super tiny hour markers. They’re so small they look comical. The hour markers should be double the size. Why is the lumed lollipop on the second hand so small? It’s so small it doesn’t function. The lume is pretty weak overall. The hands are decent (not remotely Seiko Lumibrite level but adequate), but the dial hour markers are faint and fade very quickly. The bracelet clasp is cheap stamped metal that looks worse than a Seiko clasp. The amount of polished surfaces is a strange desiccation. The ceramic bezel is too reflective making it near impossible to read the bezel markings in most lighting. The best version of this new Seaster to get is the one with the black bezel and gradient blue dial (like an Oris Aquis) that comes on a rubber strap. The Certina DS Action Powermatic 80 is a much nicer dive watch with full ISO6425 certification and a quality bracelet with a ratcheting dive extension for only slightly more than the cost of a Seastar.
@jasongennero2925
@jasongennero2925 5 лет назад
Damn I couldn't have said it better, bravo sir, though I'd take the seastar with black bezel and gradient blue dial with rubber strap over a similarly priced Seiko dive watch any day. You'd be getting Swiss made quality and on the dial with 80 hours power reserve even though it beats at three Hertz any Seiko for that price would as well. Again,I applaud you sir, you saved me from having to write it. Lol

Unfortunately no and that display caseback is a huge setback to use it as a real diver, the crystal can pop out or explode even at 60m, an ISO certifed swiss budget diver would be the certina ds action diver, here it is: www.jomashop.com/certina-watch-c032-407-11-041-00.html, it has the same movement and i think it is a milimeter smaller than the tissot and it has a solid steel caseback
