I think people are missing the point of why Queen Charlotte is pressuring her children into marriage. We know that the eldest son, Gorge the fourth (the one who kept crying), is married and had a daughter. Meaning he had already secured a successor as the daughter was next in line after him. But the show picks up when his daughter dies during childbirth. Meaning that now Gorge the fourth, has no successor. That is why Queen Charlotte is now putting pressure on her other children to get married because up until now, they were relaxed and could sleep with whomever they wanted. But the eldest son's line has been cut short

The Hanoverians are such an interesting branch of the Royal Family. The fact that King George and Queen Charlotte had FIFTEEN living children but only one legitimate heir (the future Queen Victoria) is astounding.

I think people forget that those 13 children ensure the line of succession for awhile - each one of them could be king or queen in birth order. So why I can see her wanting them to produce children, there was no immediate need for it.

Also queen Charlotte wanted to protect her daughters from the pain that is going through pregnancy, and in that time, you needed not only one but many children to secure the line considering most of them died after a few days or were stillborns. She had 15 children and was very unhappy with that even though she loved them all. King George also was very afraid of marrying them off to a foreign monarch since the ladies at the time were expected to go live with their husbands, and since there were no planes at the time, they ever hardly see their families. And for the boys, yes, they gave them too much freedom. It was only after they realize they didn't have a secure successor that they started thinking and worrying about that. Some of their daughters married really old and didn't have the chance to have children, or had affairs in secret due to their parents rejection of any proposal they received.

Charlotte handled finding out about George so well. It reminded me of when Edwina did almost the same thing when George came in the room while she and her mother were talking to Charlotte in season 2 of Bridgerton. You could tell Charlotte was so embarrassed to have 3 respectable members of the Ton (violet was there as well) see what she had kept hidden from the people for so long. And you could tell Edwina instantly gained Charlotte's respect because of the way she handled the situation. The writers for both shows are so amazing.

King George III didn’t get a coronation until after he married Charlotte. Beforehand, he was King yes, but he only sat on the throne for a year before he married Charlotte. And during that time, no coronation was held. Two weeks after their wedding, they were crowned together at a joint coronation as King George III and Queen Charlotte.

Its crazy how accurate this story is to real life story of King George and Queen Charolette...i watched the MsMojo's video about the similarities to the real life counterpart and it just is saddening that this is probably what happened to real life George too..tortured all his life in order to make him sane only to make him even more insane and Queen Charolette being a caretaker to her husband all her life

i did screamed at the doctor when I watched that episode too 🤭 it was so stressful to watch. Hate to compare but this kinda was what I was expecting with Kanthony, this plot of the husband pushing away the wife thinking it was for her own good, don't want her to suffer bc of him and the wife thinking the husband didn't love her even she was already in love. This type of angst! and then they fighting to face that fear 🥺♥️ I love how they use that in this case 😭 And LD fighting for their rights! Makes me respect her character more! love that relationship she has with her maid. Next episodes are a rollercoaster of emotions!!

I identify with all you said and felt during these two episodes. End of episode 3 broke my heart. I thought episode four was brilliantly done from King George's POV...answering many earlier questions. As soon as that doctor hit King George, and made his real methods known....just hated him because his treatment of King George made his condition worse not better, broke my heart the second time.

They not only did these BARBARIC treatments on the mentally ill, But on homosexuals as well; as it was considered a form of mental illness to participate in deviant sexual practices/behaviors such as that. 😕😢😔

I know they didn't have the knowledge on how to treat mental illness, back then. However, if they did, would they even have the resources to help King George? For example, let's say he had bipolar disorder. Would just therapy have helped him?

Hii so i just wanted to say, in case you see this, i think you should be including what episodes of a show you're reacting to in the video title or thumbnail! I got like 8 minutes into this video before i realized that this wasn't the first few episodes as i havent actually watched the show yet (you did mention it at the beginning but i usually skip intros to get to the reaction and im sure there are others who do so) Im mostly saying this because any of your videos can get recommended to people like this one got recommended to me and i noticed that you don't write what episodes youre reacting to anywhere so it helps to indicate exactly what you're reacting to. I know you do all that and that's great, I'm just saying it wouldn't hurt to also include it in the title and/or thumbnail because that's what people see first and can be the single deciding factor in someone clicking on a video or not. Some people might only want to watch a reaction to a particular episode (I do this too) so need to know which of your videos on a full season have that episode and, again, videos get recommended at random so it really does help to know exactly what's in each one. Thanks again for replying, x
