Don called Mr. Davis’ office without looking up the number, after one year? Then when Ann asks him, he says he doesn’t remember the number? And a good reporter like Don who spent three months trying to get the interview , certainly would have remembered the name of Mr. Davis’ secretary! But Marlo’s “one take” scene in the elevator is a classic! And a great example of the work that earned her four Emmy Award nominations .

You always hear how the Mary Tyler Moore Show was such a ground breaking show for young career women. That show, although excellent , came after this show. I personally think Marlo Thomas in That Girl was in fact the true ground breaker. Although dating Donald, Ann (Marlo Thomas) was always focused on her career just as young men were and are and just as Mary Tyler Moore supposedly was.

My parents owned that "comfortable" easy chair at 15:51 ! It forced you to lean your head forward. The only way it was comfortable was if you leaned back. The footrest was comfy, though.

Yes, she does have a deep voice, I thought Dorothy in the golden girls had a man's voice but this lady's is worse.

It's called a sultry voice, which was considered to be an attractive quality. Also, her entire demeanor was professional but friendly and nurturing "oh, hi Don...we remember you because you were so nice...is there anything I can do to help" and the way she took the time to soothe Anne.
