I just love that Ann and Don always find a way back to each other. This is what you call true love. Marlo and Ted have such great chemistry with each other. This is one show I love. 😊 😊😊

She stayed at the beautiful Barclay Hotel on Rittenhouse Square. Next door to this is the Curtis Institute of Music on Locust street, used as the mansion in the movie "Trading Places". The little dining place in this is a restaurant still, and is located on Broad and Locust. Thr building still exists. This episode is awesome for being a time capsule for Philadelphia.

This episode guest stars Ruth Buzzi of The Muppet Show, The Berenstain Bears, Sesame Street including Suzie Kabloozie and Ruthie, and Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In! She played Pete some of the episodes!

Always enjoy Ruth. She was a good fit in this sitcom. And her guest spots on shows like The Monkees always were fun.

I can see why Ann never made a mark in acting - she shows here how she's not tough enough to take rejection and there's a lot of it in the acting business.

Maybe the show's whole concept was her not making it. That's the conflict of the situation-- she's a "Charlie Brown", always failing but never giving up.

Yes, a little disappointed in her running home to daddy. She still has some growing up to do.

This was better than part 1 but still not one of the better episodes of this great show.

@@deborahdishington735 Perhaps listen to Marlo Thomas herself, Ted Bessell and those directly involved, that describes the ending with the Series; NOT the "Tabloids" and such nonsense Good Luck

Philadelphia 1966 looks different a bit from today. There are these partitions around Independence Hall since 911, and the Liberty Bell is in a separate pavilion in the direction where they were coming from. One thing remains the same, The Barclay (now an apartment building) is on 18th Street, while the Walnut Street Theatre is between 8th and 9th. Thats a rather long walk from the hotel daily back then.

My Mom , a widow with four children worked our Deli 7 days but half days Wednesday & Sunday. When I saw the Barclay Hotel it brought back memories of my Mom taking me 14 to dinner there. It was so fancy pink table cloths & butter in the shape of a swan. I had lamb chops . I felt so grown up. Wonderful memories of my mom.

I think Don let his 'missing Ann' get the best of him. He never should have taken that assignment. Ann on the other hand, comes off as 'spoiled'. As soon as the one man who's been VERY supportive of her and her career tells her the truth, she runs home to the other man in her life to be told how special she is. Clearly Ann has some maturing to do before she's ready for the big leagues.

11:16 Haha x 5. I don't think I caught that little bit of business when I watched this as a child.

Haha, Donald's little silver purse, too funny. And the background music takes a brief turn there too, to amplify the comedy.

Thank you for the reply, I went back and replayed that part, to hear what the music does. A brief, comedic moment. Excellent. Happy New Year.

Is the blue jump suit she is wearing in the scene with her dad the same one from the kite-flying scene from the intro?

Ann ought to have had her hair in one braid instead of those 2 ponytails at the sides. God, they make her look 10. Ick.
