There's nothing genius about it. It's a common dead man. His seems are not off set and he's lucky he didn't poke a hole with the 2x2 or snap the rock with that bend.
Been 20 years since I did a ceiling, so I was looking for some new ideas. Guess what--this is exactly how I always did it, and you reminded me how easy and efficient this method is. No need to look further. Thanks!
Great job with that drywall. I have been there and done that! Of course, you can rent or buy a drywall lift, but for a few sheets, this is a great solution. I have some interesting videos as well on my channel: Hustle and Fun. Keep up the great work!!
I've seen this quite a few times and it really is a decent system for hanging board by yourself. Although if you still read the comments, next time be sure to stagger you butt joints (the 4 foot end). Even if you can hang them parallel with your framing, having one continues butt joint is nearly impossible to hide. Even if it was just 2 of them totaling 8 feet. Unless you're doing something like a popcorn ceiling where the whole thing is sprayed extremely thick (even then, the person spraying would have to keep the joint in mind and purposefully spray it thinner). It's likely that will never hide. Or, you could coat the entire ceiling in drywall joint compound and sand it to hopefully hide the joint, but that's a lot more work than if it had just been hung the optimal way. Either way, good work with the braces, not everyone can do that work.
Less is more!! Is correct, by the simple reason that no accident happened and dont take to much time to put it, the best tec is the brain!!! Good job, hi from Chile
Thank you Perry for your truthful observation. He is very good and this coming from you as being experienced in this means a lot. The comments on this board are very rude. I totally agree with you. I bid you well.
Good Job! Funny how these "pros" pipe in with silly observations when it was obvious from the title and your actions that you were doing this solo. Some of us DIYers don't have a crew or available second person when the time comes. And it is clear that a piece sheet of sheetrock could lie perpendicular to the sheets put up with no problem. Gratz!
What a sweet Tada... Nice job dawg...because, Im just about to attempt this myself for the first time & at least I can have a visual understanding of the task at hand. So, I appreciate this video...
Now that's a man lol. Confident smart, focused and deliberate. Will be doing a ceiling soon and can see if you think it through and are prepared it's a cinch. Thanks Bro' God Bless...
those were some braces i've picked up at Home Depot. and supports were made out of two 1 X 2 screwed together, it has to be somewhat flexible. Leigh should be slightly over height of your ceiling.
yea in Australia we use a gyprock glue and screw it up but with minimal screws the theory is that the screw holds it in olace and the glue does the real holding I know at the hospital im working at there glueing and screwing then coming back and taking the screws out
yeah youre right otherwise what you get are structural weaknesses between the ends of the sheet, even when its flushed in the sheets will eventually sag and crack
hey Andrei great job and more power to you for not going off on all the fault finders that left posts- were those 10' sheets? For just one person (you) from what I saw good job- that ain't easy 1 person rockin a lid W 10's.....
How do you get less tape joints by staggering? (oh my) I like to use a lift on new work when it comes to old work it's not worth it to me sheetrock lifts take up space and all the time it takes to move things around to get the lift at the right spot can be very time consuming. Staggered sheets can leave seems where the seam can be noticeable running a parallel seam threw out the sealing masks the seam better because it is longer. There is a right way depending on how your looking at it.
Класс! Все же хорошо когда гипсокартон хорошего качества и сухой. При таком способе монтажа гипсокартон который продается у нас сломался бы...думается.
There is going to be a nice featured crack down the middle of his ceiling. Maybe stagger your butties stud adhesive would be good too and in the time you wasted with your deadboy me and my offsider would have had the sheet screwed off and the next one up as well try a collated screwgun
An easier way. Put the sheet end on the dead man, have your damn ladder all ready about 2 thirds away from deadman. Screw gun with screw ready to go. Now lift as you climb ladder, straighten board on deadman side and your side. Hold with head and screw. Im used to doing this with 5 eights 12s cmon man.
Here is what I did: I went to my local chinese junk importer and purchased a drywall lift for $180.00 and used it for 3 days. Then I sold the lift for $75.00. Home depot wanted $55.00 a day to rent their drywall lift.
Still no crack, not even a little one not even a hairline ... and it's been over 2 years now. and about "me and my offsider" - you are missing the point of an exercise, i am not preaching how to do the job, i am not a pro. I am simply showing that it can be done single-handedly.
@@937boyz1 I've seen tradesmen/contractors who scare the shit out of me. Just because someone does something along time doesn't mean they're any fucking good. Lots of "pros" who are hacks!
