1:00 "even though his lifetime poker winnings are 300 grand less than mine" "but you've never won any money playing poker, ted" "you walked into that one, peter"
After watching the poker sketch I fell down an interesting internet rabbit hole regarding paintings of dogs playing poker. turns out there are tons of different card games painted by different artists (some extremely well known) over the years which I guess means it used to be a much more popular event.
@@DeathnoteBB Pfft memes are a 21st century concept, artists had class back in the day and only painted sensible things grounded in reality, come on man.
Yeah, Victoria is a classy lady. I can't really see her blindly frothing over the idea of getting some head. The ergonomic keyboard, however... thats a pretty good suggestion...
I'd like to show her my hidden talent. I'm not boasting. I have a natural aptitude and I've practiced very hard. Ultimately I'm good at it because I love it.

ludd911 I actually didn't realize you were quoting mitchell before now :^) I thought you were just a freak haha
13:21 I love the fact that both Mitchell and Webb can do a decent American accent but chose to stick with English accents for this skit. Just adds to the absurdity.
These two are the best comedy duo Iv'e ever watched. I honestly would rather spend a weekend on a peep show run, than do anything else in the world. :P
+Cartoon Mikeez In fact I did blow off going with friends to a fun fair before. Just to watch peep show series 1-4 start to finish one night years ago haha!
You may like Armstrong & Miller too then, they are quite similar and have even did crossover sketches with Mitchell and Webb. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TdwrflhyCd8.html
Because of that bloody sketch I had a lion bar a couple of weeks back. From a vending machine. On a platform at the train station. In winter. Half-frozen caramel is like shrapnel. Bloody horrible. So I'm kinda off lion bars again.
@@FromeFmAjayDcorrect "The word comes from a Latin word for the vulva ( cunnus) and from the Latin word for tongue ( lingua )." And if you liked that, why not try our latest product- fellatio!
"... well, the sort of thing that if it were a quote, it would be apposite." "Hmmm.., how about this woollen dog?" Everytime I rewatch this (yes, I know), I always find that particular part of the script absolutely hilarious. I mean, how do they come up with this stuff?
What does that statement even mean? 😅 Apposite adjective apt in the circumstances or in relation to something So I guess he's saying he needs a gift that's as appropriate for his aunt as a suitably appropriate quote might have been if said gift had instead been a quote? 😂
I think that the small, crowded office space sketch shows just how quickly constructs like hierarchy fall apart when we are in close proximity to each other. Or, if you live on a small island with many people, just how hard it must be to maintain an imposed hierarchy.
that lion bar commercial at the end really worked for me...when i visited the uk, i always got lion bars to crack it open and go rawr....good marketing team!
I once had a theater class that went just like this just without the lion bars. Mitchell and Webb must have taken it too. Or the pre-rehearsals of a play are all semi-mental. I recited the text on my tobacco (not the one about dying, the one about how great it tastes) in french.
The gift shop sketch is genius . I was reminded of it tonight , while watching UK police on Netflix series . Every 2 mins , they recapped the story in case you had managed to forget the violent crime in the previous 120 seconds . The same images and videos played over and over again , in order to fill an episode . Instead of trying to stretch the incidents to fit an hour long format, make the fucking thing 45 or 30 mins Zzzzzzzz
hahah yea! I was looking for the sketch about the fake moon landing and found it on my second episode! there are 5 sesons of how many episodes .....yea lucky mate!
It's called Crème De La Crème by Choir and Orchestra Charlie Steinmann. I had to Shazam it. I remember hearing it sampled in an old lofi video but I never heard the whole song before.
7:34 this sketch is pretty much how the next pandemic will go down in real life, with the tv guys telling us to "stay indoors" and food prices being so high that we will all have to hope we win a tin of beans on a gameshow to feed the family... great times in Tory Britain!
Now I feel like eating loads and loads of lion bars. I'm really hungry now. Love the cramped office one, and the Dog Poker. And the conspiracy plotters, of course.
According to Lion Bar's Wikipedia page, "In recent years the Lion bar has been dramatically reduced in size, which has caused controversy among fans." Discuss.
