No Nightwish there. Beste Zangers is a Dutch TV show that showcases Dutch singers. All the people on the couch except the MC are singers. Henk is the Dutch Phantom and has played him over 600 times. This was my introduction to Floor Jansen. I looked for more and found Nightwish and the rest is history. I've heard everything she has sung with Nightwish and without Nightwish many, many times. My favorite band and singer. She has ruined me for other female singers because none is as versatile, powerful and pitch perfect as she. 😊🤘

Well, Henk might sound a bit threatening, but standing besides our Valkyrie qeen, noone would feel she's really afraid... THIS side of the story came lil short, but never mind, the show was good, the singing was excellent, and everyone had so much FUN! And it can be clearly seen and felt, even more than 2 years back... i guess i never forget those days in autumn '19 when we sat at our screens and eagerly awaited the moment new episode will be uploaded...

Just to add a little more encouragement to follow Floor, she recently did another solo concert in Amsterdam late last year, with the same band as here (Marcelo Fisser Band) as backing band. Very talented collaborative of musicians & singers. Henk Poort, a Dutch opera and musical star. Floor was a big fan of him from when she was growing up. He has played the phantom for many years and was even Andrew Lloyd Webber's preferred Phantom. In this show Beste zangers, the singers each have an episode in which all participants sing a song they specifically picked for them, and Henk Poort sang the song The sound of silence for Floor. He specially learned to sing with distortion for that performance and he used that in this duet too.

The TV show "Beste Zangers" invites the best Dutch singers from the Netherlands and Flanders to come to a remote location, alone, without husband, wife, or manager to stay for I believe 10 days together in a vacation resort. They do not get paid for this. This whole concept makes it a very tight group. During that time they record eight shows and rehearse the duets, I believe three times. The solo performances must be rehearsed before coming to the resort as it must be a surprise for the singer in the hot seat. In each of the shows (except the last one) one of the singers is in the "hot seat" and all other singers sing for them songs from their repertoire or songs that have been important in the life of the "hot seat singer". This encourages singers to sing outside their normal wheelhouse, for example Maria Fiselier sings rap, but in real life she sings operatic musical (see the 2018 show). In between songs, interviews that can go very deep. So some tearing up is normal now and then. The last show is only duets (no hot seat). It is not a competition, it is just celebrating each other and music. Floor was adoring Henk in her child years (and she still does). She asked Henk to perform Phantom of the Opera in the duet episode with her. He agreed on the condition that he would perform with Nightwish once they were in Amsterdam. Because of COVID this was not possible, but Henk did perform with Floor in Floor's solo concerts in Amsterdam in 2021. These were crowdfunded and Floor releases a song from this solo concert every week on her own channel free to react to. The band is the Marcel Fisser band. They do not want to be celebrities but are regarded as excellent supporting band, so Floor chose this band for her solo tour also. The entire episodes of some years of the TV Show "Beste Zangers" have been subtitled in English and put on RU-vid (among them 2019, the year Floor performed in it, she also performed in 2020, but had some medical problem so she could only sing from home, not from the resort).

Hi there, you can still be a fundamentalist Christian and love metal music (somewhat), and Nightwish (definitely) and Floor Jansen (compulsorily)! I do. :-)

I'm a huge Phantom fan, having seen about a half dozen casts, including the original with Sarah Brightman back in 1986 in the West End. I'll take Floor singing it. Wish I had seen Henk in one of his hundreds of performances as the "Dutch Phantom" in the Netherlands. For your next reaction with Nightwish itself may I suggest Storytime (the Wacken 2013 performance) to get more of a feel for the whole band.

-Not Nightwish it's the Marcel Fisser band. Floor and Henk really bonded during this 10 day long Beste Zangers songfest in Ibiza. His assessment of her vocal abilities was astounding for a longtime opera singer who had not even heard of Floor until this show. I totally agree with everything the Dutch Phantom said about Floor Jansen. Her vocal talents are truly otherworldly.

No song content but a tribute to honored fellow musicians. After 7 episodes in which one of the singers takes turns in the spotlight, the closing evening follows in which duets are performed. Floor chose Henk Poort (pronounced ‘Poort’ like 'Port' but with a longer lasting o-o-o: Pooort) to participate in a duet, because she adored him for his performance of the ghost of 'Phantom of the Opera'. Well , its the Dutch TV Show " Beste Zengers " . The Band has noting to do with Nightwish . They are all Singers / Songwriters in this Show and they choose songs from themselves ( or others ) which the other has to cover . You will see them singing out of their comfort Zone , out of their normal Genre , its not an competition - its for fun. During the Show Floor made several covers , not 1:1 Covers , she added her flavor to it , mostly a rock / metal flavor . This performance by Floor Jansen is from when she was taking part of the Beste Zangers show in the Netherlands, I always am in awe of this performance and that angelic voice of hers, she is just outstanding. Henk Poort did the role of the phantom in the Netherlands for quite some time, he is fantastic love his voice. He learned to sing with that grit in his voice for Floor. I always get goosebumps from hearing this, especially when Floor goes all in in the end of the song. I am a huge fan of Nightwish, and a huge fan och Floor, she is amazing, she's got all the talents needed from a badass lead singer. She has a lot of skills, charisma and talent. I am in love with her voice, she truly is a all in one vocalist. I only wish we could have gotten to hear her sing phantom of the opera with Nightwish's former basist and vocalist Marko Hietala as well. We can however hear Markos take on the phantom in the version with Tarja Turunen (the first lead singer of this band) singing Christines part. This is not Nightwish performing. This is a Nightwish version of the original tune. However, it is toned down for this Dutch TV show. Still a little more rocking than the original. Floor and Henk also do a duet of "Dangerous Game" from the show "Jekyll & Hyde". See Floor channel for the video. Henk actually played the role of The Phantom in the Dutch production earlier in life. This is not Nightwish but Floor Jansen on a Dutch TV show Beste Zangers duetting with her childhood hero Henk Poort who played the Phantom for years. There is a very heavy Nightwish version featuring the first singer Tarja from 2005.

I will never understand why the reactor thinks they should be in the video....
